This hindsight argument you keep going on about is weaksauce. Hindsight isn't necessary to point out how much of a garbage mother Sonya is when it's witnessed in real time. Remember that this is Mortal Kombat. If Earthrealm was really under serious threat of invasion Raiden would instant transmission all of his chosen champions together and diverse a plan to stop the threat. Shit gets handled the moment it becomes a problem. She's fine to go to the birthday party.

Stop acting like Sonya is the only world defender in MK. Sonya celebrating a birthday is not a big deal with the Lin Kuei and White Lotus is also putting in work. The other members of the special forces should be able to handle Red and Black Dragons. Not to mention how crazily proactive Raiden is in the NRS era.

NXT doesn't do Takeovers anymore. The switch to 2.0 killed it. They are taking a page from AEW and doing PPV like special episodes to fill the void.

Yeah no. No amount of fluff feminism can excuse how much of an awful parent Sonya is. Whenever Cassie had a birthday, personal milestone or whatever important things were happening in Cassie life her response was "Johnny got that covered. I'm going to work". What makes it egregious is she would blow off Cassie for work related things she wasn't needed for. Johnny rightly called her out on it every single time. She gets no pat in the back for choosing to be an absentee parent.

It's inexcusable when Sonya's contemporaries managed to find a balance and she never bothered. Scorpion ended up being a better parent. Mind you he has been rebuilding his clan and still trying to get his revenge against Quan-chi.

Did you read the MKX comics? Even when there wasn't a threat to the realm Sonya would always choose work over spending any time with her daughter. It was something that Johnny always called her out on. The man put his career on hold to ensure she had a parent around.

Kimberly being replaced doesn't replace Guy. He can always reappear down the road. If he doesn't then he had a good run. I prefer for my favorite characters to reach an end to their stories rather than continue indefinitely. What I loved about Yakuza Guy is that it was a great way to give the character some edge without changing who he is on a fundamental level. Doing that isn't good when it comes to maintaining healthy relationships with family. Cassie joined special forces just so she can spend time with her mom and Sonya still blew her off. She should thank Johnny for not making Cassie resentful of her.

What Cassie did to Shinnok is no different then what Johnny did in the prologue chapter of the same game. Cassie is fine. She's a much more pleasant character to have another than Sonya. Her relationships with her dad and Jackie endure me to her. She and Jackie got main character potential.

That's Caria manor. I don't know what build your using but that place has one of the best Fai/Int weapons in the game.

It will be funny if we see a comeback of video game mascots as Hollywood movies.

I honestly don't see it that way. Having these characters become mentors and/or parents is letting us see another facet of their character. I honestly can't say that doing this has diminished Johnny Cage or Terry Bogard. In their cases it made them better characters as having kids to look after have given them a maturity they otherwise would have never gotten. Who knows, maybe Kimberly would encourage Guy to actually loosen up for a change.

I would like to see yakuza Guy from Streetwise but I'm sure I'm the only one who wants that 😛. I'll take Guy as a sensei and see how well his stoicism can hold up to Kimberly 's enthusiasm.

She's going to need a straight man. Characters with Kimberly personality can easily be annoying. Having someone like Guy to bounce off of can help her a lot. Since Bison is dead where can they really take Guy's story? Unless Capcom wants to pull the trigger on the Rose ship there's not a lot they can do with him storywise.

How? You got to explain to me how a material artist taking on an apprentice somehow diminish him. Honestly, fighting game players isn't much different from comic fans. Kimberly could exist without the association with guy but the connection to an established character will get people more willing to invest in her. When it comes to the Kombat kids, I'm waiting for them to completely replace their progenitors. I think Sonya, Jax and Johnny have run their narrative course. Let them have their happy ending

And? Zeku has a bushin flip and it doesn't work the same way and it has different moves. Kimberly is doing bicycle kicks off her command run which I never see Guy do. She has her own spin on his basic chain combo. The Izuna drop and hurricane kick thus far are the only "ripped" moves. Not seeing anything here that would make Guy redundant

Rumor is that Dijak is getting repackaged. No word if it's a new gimmick or going back to being himself
