  1. Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for being a major part of my FGC experience over the years!
  2. I get what you mean. If a jab or hook was added in between the straight and the roundhouse, then it would be close to how it looked in the beginning of SF2TAM, when Ryu fought Sagat. But yeah, close enough to me!
  3. Appreciate the clarification! Weird animations and kooky characters abound. Goofiness! Goofiness everywhere!!
  4. Well, I specifically mentioned that their key frames look okay in SF4. I really like a lot of poses that many of the characters have. But in motion, the way they move is off. Ryu didn't have that issue nearly as much as others... Guile in motion in SF4 doesn't look the best though. The timing on the animations doesn't follow naturally. To reiterate, they didn't have the goofiness at like Sakura did in SFV particularly. Their movements and attacks were a step in the right direction. But I definitely said Sakura had some goofiness happening in SFV. The first 16 + the season 1 characters in SFV looked pretty good... After that the animation quality dipped. But SF6 is developing into perhaps the best animated 2.5D game we've seen yet. I'm hopeful, but I'm also tempering my expectations.
  5. From an artistic standpoint, I was taking a look at Ryu and Guile's move set in SF6 and comparing them with what's in SF2 and I was amazed at how close so many of their moves look to how they did in SF2. If you look at Ryu's Tatsu, this is first game since CVS2 where Ryu spins clockwise. If you pause on the key frames, SF4 looks okay; in motion it's absolutely atrocious. SFV improves on SF4's weirdness, but I think it deviates in ways since newer normals were introduced (e.g. Ryu's standing HK), so it's a bit difficult to compare SF6 entirely to SFV because it animates so differently. Ryu and Guile didn't have the goofiness with their moves like Sakura did in SFV, so hopefully SF6 will keep up the quality on their moves - looking at you Chun!!!
  6. I'd like to think the punish counters are taking the place of the crush counters. But for sure PC and DI can both lead to devastating combos. In the beta I kept getting blown up because I used DI as an offensive tool and not so much for baiting mistakes... But yeah, DIs are more like Focus Attacks with three hits of armor and no dash cancelling.
  7. Fubarduck posted a ton of info on his Twitter account. Lots of good stuff on trades, throws, uki, vitality, situational awareness etc.
  8. Folks in the battle hub done lost ALL their little minds, right before the end of the CBT.
  9. Annmmmmmd that's one thing about the beta that I thought about last night... Of course the pro players were gonna get to play SF6 extensively, but when that beta got cracked we know it created an inherent disadvantage between the haves and have nots. It's good that Capcom linked the codes to the Capcom ID, too little too late at this point. Shoot... I kinda almost don't blame @TWINBLADESfor strutting like Vinnie Mac ready to be like "YOU'RE FIRED!" from playing. We're gonna definitely have some day 1 masters due to greater access. But I guess the silver lining is that we get to see beastly combos, we can learn from that stuff, the game feels way more fun than SFV and losing doesn't cause me to go on full tilt like SFV used to do.
  10. That one is my fav! I’m glad they lifted that from Evil Ryu in SF4AE cuz man hit confirming into EX Tatsu feels amazing
  11. So I just learned that he just turned 40 in late September and he's basically six months and some change older than me. I loved playing SFV and SF6 is even more fun to me than SFV. I mean, what's really his deal?? My wife thinks he's cappin and is gonna lurk online and play as Thraxsan or some crap lol. Really the man is perpetually salty. He's been a whole mountain of Morton's ever since he broke his stick against Rico Suave (and that's ALWAYS gonna be among the funniest FGC videos ever). So yeah, I'm 39. What are the qualifications of becoming an old neegah??
  12. How do you use it? I try to get it going after a shimmy, but I’m wondering if maybe you have some other ideas for it
  13. Maybe there might be some surprises with new characters coming...? If I remember correctly that's what happened with the SFV beta.
  14. So my day -168 Ryu landed me into a three star Platinum rank, which shocks the crud outta me lol. I lost half my new challenger matches, but I guess the game's being generous..? Lol
  15. At 39, I'd definitely say I'm an old lol but my freedom from the shackles of bad MURICAN pronunciation was Street Fighter II TAM. Saved my friggin life tho.
  16. From my vantage point, I feel like I could pull Chun-Li and Ryu from out the game and spar with them a bit! The models carry a certain degree of “maybe I could watch them in an actual fight online” or something.
  17. I actually played Blanka cuz I liked him in Street Fighter IV. Likely did annoy some players too lol. That EX Rolling Attack that went through fireballs was great. Wasn't a fan of his SFV version though...
  18. I like that we're getting 18 characters + 4 DLC characters as the base, as opposed to getting 16 characters + 6 DLC characters for SFV And shout-out to @Hecatomfor the birthday celebration!!
  19. I’ve been fed the Street Fighter 6 info via The Game Awards. I am sated with that delicious Dee Jay footage! Also JP is channeling serious Psycho Power vibes
  20. Man everyone here so far is being a good sport about the release date. I'm waiting for folks outside of us to complain, storm Capcom's headquarters and try to get the release date for February. But rushing the game feels like SFV's launch all over again
  21. I have dealt with a few passings over the course of my life... Before I go into specifics, first I wanna say that you have my condolences and I'm praying that you and your family receive so much comfort and support. If there was a way for me to teleport to you, I'd give you a big hug and play some matches with you. Maybe we can play tomorrow evening? Anyway, my father was a very healthy guy as well. He loved me, my mom and my younger brother so much. He was our rock and a man among men. He was only 35 when he passed and even after all these years, it still doesn't make any sense. His sudden passing is something I've thought about pretty much every week of my life since I was 4. Some days are easy, anniversary days can be rough, but I get plenty of strength and joy to keep going from my Heavenly Father, my family, my wife and my friends. My dad was my best friend even when I was just a toddler, but there was so much I needed from him as a boy that I had to learn life lessons the slow way (like until my late 30s). Fortunately you've had your father for years and that's a gift within itself. Legit bro, I'm here for you, coming from a guy that is very well acquainted with the loss of family.
  22. Kinda off topic, but I just learned that Nakayama -san is a fan of Donbrothers. Really fun Super Sentai show. Admittedly I'm surprised that he watches it!
