Yeah, Ryu is an icon but what i am saying is compare to other SF protagonist like Rashid. Luke would became appealing to this gaming generation and how his role would interact to the players in WTM and his narrative. Combine with the marketing gimmicks, SFV Luke is kinda fail but they had a second chance in SF6 and SFV kinda made them learn from their mistake. SF6 which seems a bit different interpretation of Luke, he seems humbled. The passing of torch happening. Ryu remains iconic and pop cultural but Luke is successful than the other previous attempts that became the centerfold but latter push back.

Looks like Capcom successfully transitioned their SF protagonist. So far Luke seems successful as a new protagonist for SF. Because of how they portray him in the narrative. For clarity i never liked Luke but they are successful now, beyond marketing and promotional but how they build up Luke's character in SF6 compare SF5.

As for me, I kinda have the same feeling towards SF6. This is not the Street Fighter vibe and plot. I'm interested with I prefer Shadaloo and Secret Society as the main villain in the settings as someone either in the shadows or the main villain. SF6 isn't a bad game, in fact in terms of content this is what I prefered, I like mini games and bonus stages, NPC interaction and NPC battle but the settings isn't for me too. Im overwelm with the content even without cinematic mode. JP seems a better villain than Seth and JP seems written better than anyone as thid point. I like him separate that utilize everything thats left among the iconic bosses characters but I like Bison and Gill also there. I hope we'll get more SF3 and Alpha in further season than more new characters. Doesn't need them being the main villains again but just watching everything that happening.

As for a proper cinematic mode, I'll give SF6 till season 3 for a cinematic mode. one huge mistake with SF5 was the cinematic mode feel rushed and compress. I believe initially it should had been more seasonal but they tried to compensate with the barebones release of SFV vanilla So it was rushed and compress with fewer characters. So a season 3 cinematic mode with characters from a more extended seasons or later, a 2 seasonof character is fine but a 4 season of characters is much better for a cinematic mode.

I dont know his backstory but I like that boss concept archetype too, It's like his been existing for numbers of milenia and lurks in the shadows because of being some kind of a vampire or monster.

it's inivietable and I feel it's gonna be Ken's turn this time but not SNH/Satsu No Hadou related like Ryu but a different negative energy/ki . Ryu isnt the protagonist in SF6. For some reason, Akuma should be enough but others always hype for edge lord protagonist that it became a FG staple archetype already. As for Sakura it seems they are retiring her or gently moving her away from Ryu, while pushing Ryu and Chunli as a new marketing stunt. kinda obvious and hinted in new marketing promotional deals and Sf6 winquote. To be honest both Ryu and Chunli needs to stay single instead of being a couple or married. As soon they married a reboot and remake would happen sooner

yeah, and the things is the user feedback, fads and trends that time were different that time. So this ideas weren't something talk about for street fighter even it was with MK for a long time. If people were talking about something like this SF6 worldtour back in the day during SF5 1st trailer, that guy would probably frowned upon and be dismissed then told that it's a waste of development resources and online PVP is the must. Another things is there is a new current trend in gaming now that everyone is trying to evolved a GTA and Sandbox experienced. Like Fornite from another PUBG, is now evolving into a a GTA open world roaming is becoming the new popular thing again. So its the perfect time to test that kind of experienced for SF6. From what I remember the current heads now are from Monster Hunter. which is another successful open world and obviously became inspiration of SF6 world touralong tge likes of GTA.

I never liked luke in game, like his mocking ryu and the way he plays is just kinda shoto like but with a different hadouken and no tatsu But his character is suddenly becoming likable in how Capcom made him appear in the world tour and the comics along with backstory. He feels like a different person in-mach in a game than the way you interact to him in worldtour and in his story.
