  1. Nothing. It's the old belief around here that Capcom never speaks about Slammasters (still nothing on CFN profiles...) because of some obscure rights problem with Tetsuo Hara. Nothing certain, mere speculation. Now that Hara works together with Capcom again, "hey guys, maybe they will speak again about Slammasters!".
  2. Hello, Lord Vega! Yes, it is. She never mentions in the original Japanese to be the active subject of the sentence. She believed that by removing Shadaloo and Bison and so on. It's not that she herself had to do it. Oh, by the way, Akiman answered in a Youtube video about some of the inspirations for SF2 characters. What's interesting is that he thought about making Zangief a Big Van Vader clone, but he didn't so in the end. He also confirmed one of Dhalsim's inspirations was Dragon Ball's Nam. Moreover, Blanka was the fusion of Tiger Mask's Gorillaman, Ashita no Joe's Harimao AND RICKY TYPHOON'S Monster Gorillaman. BINGO. Akiman just confirmed he read the manga, as I thought.
  3. LOL Rose's moves with all their random Italian mixed in. Soul Presa - Soul Grab (I doubt that IS a grab, like Mika's Rope Throw, but who knows) Soul Piede - Soul Foot (that's old and already known) Soul Pilastro - Soul Pillar (I wonder if that does reference the fact that Lisa Lisa fought against the PILLAR men...) Soul Levare - Soul Raise, or Soul Remove (strictly speaking, that's a verb... it's as if they wrote "soul to raise/remove". The substantive is levata. Moreover, the verb levare more commonly means "remove", but I don't think that's the meaning they intended) Soul Terra - Soul Earth (forward teleport?) Soul Mare - Soul Sea (back teleport?) Soul Cielo - Soul Sky (obviously her air teleport) Now I wonder if her normals have other references...
  4. Thank you for reminding me to save all my older posts there elsewhere. My blog has progressed slowly as of late, but hopefully I'll be able to speed it up a bit from now on. Too many things to do... I don't know about the others, however. They haven't show up until now, and SRK has been silent for nearly a month by now. Call me a pessimist, but I think they'd wait SRK opens again rather than come here. IIRC Cestus has even openly said that.
  5. RyoRedcyclone points out that, although Dan is generally written as a joke, he has some real ability: not only his fighting prowess was actually recognised by Gouken (he kicked Dan out, but that's another story), but, since SFZ3, he's also the official interpreter for Sakura in her journey around the world. He can speak Japanese, English, Cantonese, Thai and even a bit of French and Russian!
  6. LOL even Mika does the squats. Well, at least in her case it’s fitting.
  7. HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! In the English version, Dan WON the (unspecified) tournament. In the original Japanese, he PARTICIPATED ACTIVELY in the (still unspecified) tournament. So he DIDN’T even win it, whatever it was…
  8. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! Not only did Capcom choose the best stage Rose has ever had (SFZ2) mixed with the best theme music Rose ever had (SFZ3, maybe the only theme actually better than those of the previous game); they even confirmed one of my suspicions about that stage in SFZ2. We all know that Rose’s Genoa stage in SFZ2 and SFV is actually Venice with only few elements of the actual Genoa. One was Cristopher Columbus’ statue, the other was the ship. I always suspected they wanted to refer either to the Santa Maria or to the Neptune, a galleon replica used in Roman Polański’s 1986 movie Pirates, indeed now docked in Genoa’s old port; but in SFZ2 it was too difficult to pinpoint her with any certainty. Now Capcom pretty much confirmed the ship is in fact the Neptune. They even faithfully reproduced the aftercastle’s lamps!
  9. SonSon in MvC2 can run up the wall with ⬇️↙️⬅️+K, and if you don't do anything else she continues to run around the screen all the way through the ceiling until she reaches the other side.
  10. I think Daigo will be part of the stage KO. Maybe the river side has the loser go in the water; the slope side has the loser stumble into Daigo, who may be very annoyed that you tried to fight his sister. "How dare you lay a hand on my sis?" *megaton punch to the sky* If the loser is Akira, maybe Daigo can humorously scold her for getting into the fight. The original stage was named 大和川堤防 Yamatogawa teibō, "Yamato river levee". It's the only real-life reference in Project Justice, and indeed the Yamato flows between Nara and Ōsaka's prefectures, not far from Capcom's HQ.
  11. Lol, literally the first costume Lisa Lisa had in her first appearance in JoJo.
  12. The sign is "DANGER! Don't play!", and then the writing becomes too small to be deciphered. Sounds the perfect place for a ring out in the river.
  13. Welcome to Megashock, bak! I'll keep you posted about the blog. It's still work in progress, I've just started. First I should archive some old posts, but I hope that won't consume too much time. THEN...
  14. Well guys, for the few who were interested I'm really thinking about that blog idea. Especially now that Shoryuken splitted and the already few people interested partly came here and partly remained there. Crossposting every time is too annoying, but a link every now and then... Maybe wordpress could work fine.
  15. It's more "(Capcom) almost never dug officially into the relationship between Guy and Maki, but I'd like to think Maki's inner feelings are like this". Ryo_Redcyclone already wrote about how he'd like if Maki harbors a secret unrequited love for Guy, a thing she never spoke about to avoid hurting her sister. All based upon that image, as there's nothing official... like Ryo himself once again admits here. He's all too aware of the net's potential to "unofficially canonise" things that never were there to begin with. The theory that Zangief was actually an Intelligentsia member spawned from one of Ryo's articles, and now it has been canonised by DISNEY... Remember Zangief president of the book club in Ralph 2? Well, it all started from Ryo... Not that I'd protest that: I LIKE the idea of Zangief secretly being a badass bookworm.
  16. If you think about it, Ibuki's story could already tell events well after SF3, with her recalling all the people she met. And she remembered having met HAKAN... Sure, it could reference SFIV, or allude to Honda being with him when she met them both, but who knows.
  17. That would make the most sense, honestly. I know Capcom back in SFZ2 essentially made Genoa Venice - every single detail IS Venice except for the Columbus statue and the Santa Maria sailing in the background -, but they should just go with it and directly make Venice's Grand Canal. Damn, I can recognise every building of that concept... If they ever do it, that would become my favourite stage ever. There's no need to do that, but the problem is... ...I actually regularly did that, but pre-formatting the text for the SRK forums, so I should remove all of the old tags... Not to mention the fact that the images are in their own folders. Maybe it's time to seriously think about that blog idea, considering I keep finding out things. The last one is so huge I almost didn't believe my eyes: the manga where Capcom took moves for Gen, Lee, Yun and Yang from... And Sega for Virtua Fighter's Akira Yūki, Lion, Shun Di, Pai, Lau... Namco for Tekken's Michelle, Julia and Wang... Oh, and Akira Kazama. Her name, design AND martial art.
  18. Ooook, I don't have time now for all these shenanigans, but I'll figure out how to archive some of the older SRK posts here. Maybe. Also, Lord Vega and bakfromon should absolutely be here somehow.
  19. Falke She uses staff techniques, trained using Psycho Power. Her bond with Ed comes from the fact that both have relations with Shadaloo. Her name (codename) means “hawk” in German. And here’s her command list! Name: Falke Height: 176cm Weight: 54kg Blood type: A Birthday: May, 25 Home Country: Unknown Favorite things: Milk Tea, Theatre Dislikes: Shadaloo Fighting Style: Psycho Power and Bōjutsu She has the ability to inject Psycho Power into her staff, called “Harmony”, and then shoot it. Her ability to shoot Psycho Power instantaneously is lower compared to Ed and Bison, but she can charge and increase the power. She was confined in a Shadaloo’s laboratory and piled up loads of training. She’s a perfectionist, and deals with everything scrupulously. She’s well-versed in house chores and cooking, and is unexpectedly family-oriented. “Harmony” represents the harmony between Falke and Psycho Power. She has several books, and always thinks about the best strategy and tactics according to the situation.
  20. Ray And finally, the last FF3 character! He loves “Big B. and the Bullheads”.¹ He’s a big fan of Brilliancy. (Brilliancy is in the London stage) Name: Ray Height: 180cm Weight: 72kg Blood Type: AB Birthday: April, 6 Country of Origin: USA Favorite things: Live Concerts Dislikes: Annoying Landlords A man who doesn’t care about the future, enjoying his present along with a friend who came from UK. He can’t play instruments, but loves hearing music and making ruckus. He earns his daily income by working for a gang. ¹ The punk band in the background of London stage. We already know that Schot is a former member. Brilliancy is the girl.
  21. Well, both Final Fight 3 and Tekken came out in 1995, so it's very unlikely. May is more of a Cammy bootleg, as they used almost the same animation for her Frankensteiner that Cammy had in SSF2. Capcom always recycled itself.
  22. May No one expects such a cool beauty to be a violent gang member. Her specialties are knife attacks and the Frankensteiner. Name: May Height: 170cm Weight: It’s a secret Blood Type: 0 Birthday: January, 28 Country of Origin: France Favorite things: Holidays, Baths Dislikes: Haggar She ostensibly works as a dancer, but is also an assassin, specialised in knives. They say that her favourite pastime is washing away the blood of her victims. She never actually learnt wrestling, but uses her skills as a dancer to compensate and is somehow able to do some moves.
