Dragon Quest XI is a lot of fun. The script, and its delivery are cringeworthy to very nearly SO4 levels of bad cutscenes (that one Eric one in the first act of the game, is almost exploding space ship timer running down yet inexplicable 5 minutes of dialogue in SO4 levels of "Get the fuck outta here" levels of ruining any immersion)... ...but almost everything else is spot on. Perhaps some of the damage and defense equations could be adjusted, to make armor and Kabuff more relevant vs speed, and the like. But over all, it is great, and one of the very few games that I have genuinely enjoyed this gen.

Man, I said the exact same thing, on the old site. O.G. Prowl is still the best Prowl. He and the rare Bluestreak with the actual blue parts, remain two of the best models (same base) of all time, imo.

DSP has always been very nearly as big a mess as the console version of ST that he very nearly placed in that one time when Evo lost its goddamned mind and used an absolutely shite PS1 hatchet job, causing the better part of the U.S. player base to not enter, only to get shut out by Japanese players who had probably never even played that busted iteration, simply adapting on the fly to wonky hitboxes to eliminate him. And then afterwards, DSP analyzed those bouts, and reverse engineered the Nippon brain tech, and mastered the art of de-adapting, then proceeded to make a streaming career out making a lifestyle out of it.

Everyone wants an epic hardcore action game or six notching their cred belt. Most can't even be arsed to time the bird/bat/baddie trap in the O.G. NES NG, much less best busted (yes pun) New School hardcore action game. Ain't no such thing as a Hardcore "Win Button".

One thing I have to do, is give Marsden credit where credit is due. He totally sold his character arc. Everything that happened with him, happened precisely DUE to Teddy's character. The story didn't tell his tale, Marsden's nuance did. I saw it coming from a mile away. Even as it was clear as day, just so was it brilliant. He really is an epic, highly underrated actor.

Well, $85, if you include my first ever purchase of PSN. But I only bought it because buying a month of it actually SAVED me $15 - like, NET.
