I mean the only argument I could see would be Dhalsim sitting out and Menat taking the spot, but then again they play completly different, wouldn't make the Sims happy. Lastly Capcoms FG division relies a lot on Nostalgia Bias, they will not stop throwing SF2 characters into every game, even if it would kill them.

To be fair Marshal and Forrest Law, prior to Tekken 5, were also not comedic. After Tekken 5 they became, but 90% of the cast is just comedic reliefs since Tekken 5.

There are a few variables. Lets take this. Player A is a known Ryu Main, he only plays Ryu, breathes Hadoken and opens doors with Tatsumakis. What is a blind pick worth against him? You know he will Shoryuken you at the character select screen. Blind picks don't do much in that area. Now against someone who plays multiple characters it is worth something. Lets say you are a known Ken player, famous for your brasilian wifi, your opponent is Sugmar and he plays half the cast competetive. Now you don't know what the first match brings. He also has choices in case a MU is to spicy for him to handle, so he can resort to counterpicks. Generaly counterpicking does little to casual and even in Pro circumstances it can vary in efficency. Remember that Alex Valle beat I think it was Bonchans Sagat, with Hugo of all characters.

May I remind you that this is Capcom we are talking about. I remember them saying that Evil Ryu was gone now and then they droped Kage like a week later. They will never stop making more shotos, never.

Yes, because Lore and Story have been taken so serious in the SF-verse. If anything, they most likely retcon the entirety of SFV by the time of SFVI, wouldn't be the first time.

I still can't get over the fact that KoFXV has released Rugal, probably my favorite FG character of all time, he is playable legaly, he doesn't suck ass and I'm sitting here not even looking at the game. The hell is wrong with me, I should visit the doctor maybe I have depressions or some shit.

Spending more money on writer would tremendously increase the costs. It's better if they keep it like it is currently, no money and no effort spend.
