  1. JP is literally a media machine combined with unscrupulous 'philanthropists' He claims to want to help developing nations but really just exploits them while controlling narrative surrounding them...and in doing so creates misery and social upheaval with the pain that follows all for no reason other than to consolidate his own power. Bison used the iron fist, JP utilizes the soft power of social manipulation. He's exactly the sort of person I despise. At least Bison admits to what he is and will face people on that level. JP pretends to be benevolent when he's the worst kind of person possible. Great villain.
  2. I just wanted to make sure to throw in support for the official Luke fanclub that is building up. After reading him in the comic and seeing him in the demo now, he's an awesome character. Super likeable while still feeling like a genuine dude. What a bro.
  3. Abigails existence was taken as an act of war and America retaliated, won and annexed large chunks of Canada. I can't blame them, honestly. Guile likely lead the charge.
  4. Obviously this just means that most territory we know as Canadian IRL is actually controlled by America in the SF timeline
  5. 😄 In a discord server I'm in, someone posted a tweet in video game news channel about potential leaks on a garbage list of DLC characters for MK12...and immediately I notice @Darc_Requiemspeaking truth in a reply to it. Amazing.
  6. Dude it's not a matter of me following the story, it's a matter of NRS following their damn story. Within 3 games they've made a huge mess of contradictions and nonsense in their own canon. No one can explain Sindel nor Kabal, just as an example. Their characters make ZERO sense.
  7. That is presuming that anything JP says is his goal is his goal. Dude seems to be working wheels within wheels. Can't take anything he says at face value. For all we know, he could want Ken to clear his own name. These 3 issues have been some of the most genuinely interesting stuff in SF in a long long long time and it is actually the BEST SF stuff has ever done any kind of intrigue outside of the martial arts arena ever with only Kanzaki's manga even coming close.
  8. I can't connect at all unfortunately EDIT: They just announced an hour of maintenance
  9. It's hard for me to give half a damn about Mortal Kombat's story at this point when it's clear NRS doesn't. They've had only 3 games and their continuity is a total disaster.
  10. Okay, fellas, I gotta say... As a fan of SF and MK both... We are eating well on this side of the fence while MK12(1) just showed me NOTHING impressive or exciting.
  11. This reminds me of when people say She-Hulk "suffers consequences" in the finale where she literally has god rewrite the universe because she feels like suffering consequences for her own bad actions is deeply unfair 🤣
  12. It occurs to me that a good way to drum up some SF interest might be to do some powerscaling stuff with them and vs match-ups. The community that would have a lot of overlap with interest in SF has A LOT of interest in those sorts of videos and they can be quite fun. Just an idea I had.
  13. The thing is, Capcom will basically always use Ingrid in perpetuity in some capacity or another. When you have an IP it's best to put it in stuff occasionally. Her being barred from Udon SF stuff is certainly a good thing, however.
  14. That show was an abomination even without counting the underage nudity and stripshow featured in multiple episodes (which careened the show right into ultra-nope territory)
  15. The Terra connection is VERY interesting. Man I am torn between wanting to dig into these spoilers...or just wait until the game comes out and then binge.
  16. I'm not so sure. I think that's supposed to be blood. Omega Rugal in KOF 98 is powered by Orochi Blood.
  17. Yes it very much seems like a "You require punishment" sort of super, doesn't it? Like JP is putting them in their place for actually tousling with him.
  18. Yes but that could also refer to Oro talking about Bison's "will" in the sense of his goals, dreams and the like. You can fulfill someone's "will" by pursuing the same path they did. We do need to learn more about JP, however, to know where he factors into stuff.
  19. Some people cultivate martial talent out of a sense of practicality or pragmatism or for various other reasons. This could be the case with JP. Dhalsim, for instance, doe snot enjoy fighting because he does not like violence...but he will take part in fighting for various reasons when he sees it as necessary. @CESTUS IIIAlso yes agreed that that is a big distinction currently between Rugal and JP. The one thing I'd throw in about Rugal is that it's not even strictly fighting that he loves...fighting is merely one way by which he hurts people. Rugal loves causing pain to others. Dude is a legit sadistic psychopath even going as far as to sell weapons just to spread human misery. It makes Adelheid an interesting counterpoint to him too since Adelheid does not like hurting people though he does enjoy fighting to test himself. It's a big philosophical/mental difference between father and son. Both have the same level of passion to excel at combat but for entirely different reasons. It's also something that separates Bison and Rugal. Bison ultimately spreads misery to empower himself. It gives him real, tangible power. Rugal does it for the lulz. It's one of the reasons I'd love them teaming up in a cross-over situation. It'd be genuinely horrific because Bison and Rugal do not share conflicting goals for the most part. Bison wants to rule the world...but Rugal has no concern for such things. The only conflict they could have would be over who is the greatest warrior between them.
  20. Rugal also has weird AF biomechanical stuff in his 98 stage and it's always been one of my fav boss stages. Just strange and unnerving and creepy.
  21. For those that do, please actually buy something at the comic shop since they pay for the Free Comic Books 🙂
  22. Shitaku is a cancer on the internet. They can't fail and go the way of other garbage peddlers soon enough.
  23. I don't think so. The VAST majority of players coming into SF6 will have no preconceptions of Luke because they weren't around playing at the end of SFV. This is Luke's debut to them.
