  1. @WWE Twitch mandate Do you guys remember how Vince escaped the 1994 steroid trial? One of the key witnesses, Nailz, went on record saying "I hate Vince McMahon's guts" and that voided his testimony. Andrew Yang said he's going to go to war with WWE over this if he gets the labor practice spot if/when Biden wins, which would be awesome if he hasn't already gone to dirt sheet podcasts and on twitter saying similar impartial things that could harm him when it's showtime in court. Imagine if him going on record saying he's a big fan of AEW and has grown to hate what WWE has become is used against him and that statute that voided Nailz' testimony is put into play there too. Yang would never hear the end of it. It occurred to me last night thinking about the twitch stuff and that guy saying he's going to end Vince over it on twitter. from PWInsider, which in the last few years has gained a much better track record with internal WWE news than the Observer: ""PWInsider noted that there has been a fear among talents that if they sign over their Twitch accounts to WWE then they could lose a significant amount of revenue during a time when there are no bonuses being paid out since live events have been scrapped due to the pandemic. WWE has no plans to run live events again until 2022. However, WWE sources told PWInsider that since talents are not on the road, their road expenses are down and pretty much the entire roster has signed new deals that given them a higher downside guarantee. The belief is that the mandate to wrestlers regarding Twitch and Cameo is likely as a result of WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan being hired in August. One theory being floated is that Khan is trying to position the company as an in-house management firm for their talent so that all third-party offers need to go through WWE. There’s also been talk of WWE expanding their Twitch presence in a major way and wrestlers having their own Twitch accounts would stand in their way." ^Because of COURSE a Khan in wrestling would be responsible for things going to hell.
  2. This is a business and you're in business to make money. NXT benefits from being on Network TV now though so there's less need to move guys to the main roster. Despite that, the end goal is still to get to RAW and SD because that's still where the biggest paydays are, or were before the pandemic. Side note, think Paige finally leaves WWE after this Twitch thing?
  3. WXW only recently got put on the Network, so I don't know how you can assume the WXW association is done when it only just started getting really serious in the last month.
  4. Given that WWE dumped like half their roster, any one of those guys could break out in at least the midcard...or they become the Wolfpac to Retribution's nWo which is a hilarious thought in and of itself.
  5. We snapped our fingers and got 4 with the Era.
  6. Scorpio Sky is a furry? Also Candace losing after Gargano win isn't stupid. If anything it puts a table turn on their relationship, like when Zayn returned to Naky and Cesaro
  7. one of the combatants I actually know outside of FGC. She helped me move into my place and before then she was a student when I was helping teach band camp. As for the other combatant, he seems nice enough when I spoke to him but I don't know him personally. It's a shame people can't get along and be civil when we're all stuck here in this pandemic nightmare. Gaming should be like pizza, something that brings joy when there is none before its partaking.
  8. Did anyone catch wind of what went down in the Vampire Savior community over the weekend?
  9. Miz sold this one like he was taking Nina's u/f+1+2
  10. I did not know Robbie E was the road rage guy from the Edge segment. That is some wild continuity. I want to think that they are indeed the same person in canon as well as in real life. I'm still upset that Tye Dillenger's name wasn't Stan Dillinger once that acknowledged it was him who got kicked by HBK.
  11. If they can integrate their twitter game into their on-screen characters the sky is the limit for them. I want to root for them all of the same. They remind me of the G1 Nexus in a good one.
  12. I wasn't thinking that far ahead but it would make sense given where that feud left off.
  13. I forgot about Edge for a second, that would be completely wild.
  14. As I said it works better with live crowds. People get hype just for him teasing a damn taunt and his finisher isn't just crazy over, but easy to do and take and always looks good.
  15. Every wrestler that I've spoken to whose opinion I trust on the matter treat Orton as GOAT status like he's Daigo. I will always fight the notion that he's inherently boring because for years and years he would (and likely still when crowds return) always get pops even when he was heeling it up and burying other favorites, RR 2014 being the main exception. At any rate, he's been fire since he began embracing the RKO Outta Nowhere meme and he has had a great year thus far. Glad he'll get another run even it might be as a transitional champ with Miz looming. I'm going to get started on watching everything now. Sounds like it was a good show.
  16. Long as we're talking about Corny, this one made me laugh until my stomach hurt.
  17. He admits several times in this clip that Sonny is a great athlete but is very unpolished as a pro wrestler when it comes to the basics. He has constantly praises Sonny's athleticism, and generally has a lot more nice things to say about Sonny compared to Kenny. This was more Jim saying Sonny isn't good enough to carry Kenny rather than the other way around, since he's convinced at this point that the only reason Kenny had all of that hype around him was that Dave Meltzer was in with him, and that Okada and Tanahashi were that damn good to fool people to think he was the true Best Bout Machine. I can't judge on that part but I will admit he's looked completely ineffective in AEW. As for Sonny never being over...imagine watching AEW and seeing Sonny get wrecked, and then your non-fan friend or family walk in. What are they going to think of that, and of you? "And then your non-fans walk in" is a litmus scale that I've used when watching sus stuff in wrestling whenever it's presented on RAW or SD or Impact over the years. It's hard to take Sonny seriously as a competitor when they are presented the way they are, when you have others who are legit and openly gay like Fred Rosser, Sonya Deville and others who have that as part of their characters without it being the only thing to them. Sonny is more of a caricature type gay and it can be difficult to take them seriously even if Sonny is a great athlete (which has been stated by Jim many, many times) And to be fair, we already have Nyla Rose, who identifies as a woman, in the women's division yet Sonny, who also (allegedly) identifies as a woman is in the men's division. I thought Sonny was a He pronoun for a long time being they were presented in the men's division when the precedent was already established by Nyla.
  18. I'm going to watch it tomorrow while I do my home workout. Watching the Network while on break from telehealth and getting my exercises done has made me hella swole since lockdown began.
  19. He's been praising Sonny a ton lately But it's pretty clear if you listen that he's not shitting on them for no reason, amid his rants are extremely helpful feedback that guys can incorporate and have, hence what Disco and Konnan said about him and how he will analyze every single hold and spot and what can be done to get the same story done with less headache. That's why other wrestlers value his input and learn to sift through the baggage.
  20. They are definitely CZW with a WCW budget. At least ECW had a cool MTV aesthetic even outside the garbage wrestling and sus angles. also I lol'd here. I also admit that I listen to Corny every week because he makes me laugh too. He's a better promo as an old man yelling at the google cloud than he was as a manager. Konnan has pointed out that while AEW probably does what you're saying, they're not doing it the way they should. Konnan and Disco were saying that they can confirm that guys in WWE and NXT listen to Cornette to try and get something useful out of his feedback, because they're able to pick up the stuff that's useful from the extra baggage that his tirades include. AEW wrestlers, or at least the ones who are commonly in the line of fire, think that any kind of criticism that isn't mindless praise are the words of haters. It's ridiculous to think AEW is a contender for the #1 promotion in the world when they keep poking at someone who is at this point some old man yelling at the clouds. They empower Corny by acknowledging him as much as they do.
  21. I've been watching some WCW stuff myself, before then I was doing a Hell in a Cell marathon (the actual match not the PPV).
  22. Because they thought it would be funny. Ever since they started this angle it's been one comedy segment after another. There has been little in terms of explaining why MJF would want to join Jericho given how far Jericho has fallen down the card, and neither MJF nor the Inner Circle are in line to challenge Moxley again. It's possible they might go back to feuding with Cody but that would be a major step backwards for MJF. So with all that being said, they did it because they thought it would be funny.
