  1. I'm back here. I'm 37 as of today. @MillionXAshley tho https://www.instagram.com/p/CtE7bHWJCGr/
  2. Light Light Shock confirms are shockingly similar to light light SK or light light straight or light light slice confirms with the other four lords. That and for whatever reason Blanka downbacks to anti-air better than freaking Guile because people like jumping on Blanka more than Guile even though Blanka has st.hk and air throw in addition to vertiball. Bring back the Four Lords please. I feel dirty that Blanka is my main. Despite his legacy of being a gimmicks character, Blanka plays patient fortress almost as good as Honda in SF6.
  3. Here are my first two attempts for Kbrad's SF6 combo contest. I threw the doll in there as a troll but I wonder if I can get them to land on it consistently https://freshcut.gg/post/0cfb23bc-90df-4760-9016-892e39bf00aa https://freshcut.gg/post/31871492-b5c8-4b35-8dde-c4bfa9c7a6b1?fbclid=IwAR0cVmAYABvlcFzLy158l5QWCViSP3CVJA1HIlOZqtrMHt_yQ8CLTk7we8o
  4. I'm mostly caught up. Thankfully youtube has everyone's full master interactions so I don't have to go through that. First up, I'm glad that Capcom FINALLY released a game where I can have deep dives into the SF cast's lives both as it pertains to the larger canon and their own personal ambitions and rivalries that may not have been shown on screen but were implied in various other media. Making Juri and Viper partners like what happened with the Udon comics worked in how they presented it as a mutually beneficial relationship, particularly as it came to making money and mayhem. Fit both their characters well and gave Viper her snark back after she was becoming dangerous close to being "American Cammy" story wise. All of the Final Fight and really "urban aesthetic" Capcom love is GREATLY appreciated, as well. If they're not going to do anything else with those IPs, having those characters in this setting where they can continue to develop and grow is a welcome consolation prize. I was particularly pleased with Damnd and Carlos. Next up, the main plot. I am still thinking that JP was likely one of the red elite soldiers in Shadaloo by the time his tenure ended as Shadaloo's financial officer as that would have been his avenue to obtain Psycho Power, and then after Bison's death he was able to wield it unchecked to a point he could bestow it on others. I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more clarity as characters like Ed and AKI come into play. On that topic, I think this game really spells out not just how Shadaloo stood the test of time as other antagonists were introduced like Gill and G yet, but how the Four Lords are just as much part of the World Warrior package as the "original 8" now. It is inevitable IMO that all 4 will return with Rog, Vega and Sagat hanging around adapting to their post-Shadaloo lives. Rog and/or Vega would likely be involved with Neo-Shadaloo or one of its many spinoffs while Sagat continues to stand waiting to challenge all who stand before him. Bison and Vega in particular remain two of Capcom's best non-waifu/shoto merch pushers in the SF franchise so it will be a matter of when, not if. I'll be ready because I've been maining at least one of the Four Lords since SFA1 and I'm at a loss where they're not here for the first time since 3S. I'm still iffy on the cardboard box aesthetic as a whole, but I suppose it's Capcom's ideal of surrealism where the mysterious psycho power infused combatant has such an unassuming mask to his identity, as do the other various gang members of Metro City. Imagine if the Bloods or Crips identified themselves as such with boxes on their head rather than bandanas. Bosch is practically Kairi from the EX series with a deeper tan and Psycho Power PEDs instead of whatever SnH wannabe Arika settled on after it was originally stated (I think?) that SFEX Kairi succumbed to the Satsui no Hado after an encounter with Akuma and then it was implied he killed Akuma during his white-haired phase. The old SF Tiamat plot guide turned out to have a ton of fanon so I lost track of what's real and not real when it came to the SFEX series. All the same, Bosch reminds me a ton of Kairi both in that part and his basic color scheme, on top of his scarred Psycho Power-infused appearance and the bouts of dementia he suffers. Overall, it's nice to see the story finally, FINALLY move forward past the 3rd Strike holding pattern we've been stuck in for over 20 years! And I'm confident that we'll have clarification throughout SF6's life on not just the Four Lords, but what became of Gill and G.
  5. I know, I kept getting anti-aired by the unblockable because the startup timing felt inconsistent based on where I was.
  6. SF6 World Tour story mode DONE. Man things were going great until I ran into Psycho Bosch and right after he forced me to use up all my healing items and buffs, then came JP to pick up the scraps. 16 continues later, he finally went down. Nakayama was in his Neogeo boss bag when it came to Psycho Bosch. What the heck is with that inescapable Deadly Rave move!?
  7. Right now I'm just going through SF6's World Tour mode and arcade mode at a comfortable pace. I'm full-time BCBA until the weekends and then I'm journeying to locals either as a TO or to get sets in my favorite games that my locals don't play (SFxT etc). All SF6 trials done!

  9. https://twitter.com/whatiskami/status/1665833346696376320 The Honda player is who I was talking about earlier, where I was gassing in him up in front of his girlfriend and then he won our monthly.
  10. With JP's history of entering different countries and organizations and then dipping, is there a possibility that JP originally gained Psycho Power as one of the red wizard-esque elite Shadaloo officers? They did always wear masks... EDIT: All caught up with the thread, I don't think him being the "financial officer" would exclude him of getting a rank like everyone else, and IIRC only the red officers were allowed to practice and wield Psycho Power.
  11. First SF6 monthly was a complete success. I think it was between 25-30 entrants and for the first time ever we finished the tournament without going over the allotted time the venue allowed for us. Typically we start doing brackets at 2 PM and need to break everything down by 7 PM. This time we finished at 6 PM. At Combo Breaker I ran a 31-person TTT2 tournament all by myself and cleared off to Top 8 in 2 hours flat, so that gave me enough time to stream all of Top 8. After I finish the SFxT exhibition at EVO I'm going to dive wholly into bracket running as I really did miss the chaos of running stuff offline. Conversely, people who were in the group that tried to say I was toxic about "not being able to handle change" had all sorts of complaints about their brackets running late for reasons within their control, so I'll just let the results speak for themselves. I know being timely is important to both the venue and the players, especially those who have other events planned after the listed end time. On that note, the guy who won our monthly is someone who used to play SFxT with me locally. Back then he was still in high school but now he's all grown up. His girlfriend (I'm assuming that's who she is) was really excited to see him play, and I gassed him up like crazy to her talking about how I once commentated his run in the Capcom Cup online qualifiers for SFxT back in 2013. He was really excited to hear me say that, and that the Top 4 for this tournament would go up on Arturo's channel, and he told her that I'm a "world famous SF player" so I wasn't throwing all that praise around lightly. I'm proud of him for holding it down and getting this all-important win as RVA has a long history of producing strong FG players inlcuding MK Tom Brady, Jinmaster, Vicki Viper, Derezz...and I guess at this point, I'm there too. At Combo Breaker someone came up to me and asked to take my picture with him. After I got the bracket to a point where I could take a minute to do so, he mentioned he was a huge fan of the XWIRES efforts for SFxT. Others offered similar praise, even mentioning that I was the reason they picked up TMNTxJL, and there's excitement about me running SFxT and TTT2 offsite on EVO Sunday. While I've mostly braced myself for FGC drama since I joined Freshcut last year in protest of Vortex Gallery was treating people last year, it was very refreshing to see the other side of my efforts get recognized. That's going to keep me focused for what I've got in store for Vegas this summer.
  12. I'm right now going through everyone's trials and story mode before I do the deep dive. My first local monthly is tomorrow and I'll be on stream duty. If anyone here wants to tune in, it starts at 1 PM EST at psychoblue9 on twitch In the interim I'd appreciate the RT. https://twitter.com/Psychoblue9/status/1664811931373273088
  13. Seeing all the praise for Modern and Dynamic controls as it relates to accessibility and comparing it to when Ono first showed off Easy and Super Easy Input Gem… it definitely has me feeling a way.
  14. I'll catch up on the SF6 comic later. I finally got my hands on the Sagat graphic novel. I will admit I was skeptical on what the quality was going to be given how Udon is typically WAY more of a miss than a hit the last decade and change, but WOW this book was stellar! Apart from clearly paying more attention to providing a narrative that fit Sagat's background, they did their homework when it came to Thailand's political situation and used that to provide an avenue to how Sagat became Bison's right hand man, even having the book double as a Shadaloo origin story detailing Bison's early years as a weapons merchant and using his psycho power to free Sagat from prison (SF2V homage) and even influence him subtlely to explain why Sagat has no pupils? The way they present Nuakhan was also impressive, making him the Akuma to Sagat's Ryu as a despotic village tyrant that later became a pawn of the corrupt Thai regime which Shadaloo helped bring down and thus inspire the loyalty of the people when making Thailand their base of operations. The pre-SF1 tournament featuring famous old people/mentors/teachers like Zeku and Arroyo was also fun, and I especially liked how they presented Sheng Long as a braggart who takes credit for other people's accomplishments like Ace from The Quick & the Dead. Overall a MUCH better outing for Udon than their Unlimited series and the Akuma origins. 8/10!
  15. I got into watching 70s wresting during the quarantine and this was who stood out the most for me. Other than being that one bodybuilder in an era there weren’t many and how active his body language was when selling for the babyface, his promos were unlike anything that was being done from the others in that era apart from Dusty who allegedly got it from him. As someone else put it, his promos were like hearing the original version of a song that’s been sampled and remade over and over.
  16. I only know pain as a Suns fan. Just one championship before the world ends, please?
  17. Capcom for the first time in a long time gives us quality Street Fighter comic writing and artwork and of course this is what people wanna focus in on.
  18. Whatever I was expecting, it definitely wasn't this! Bengus doing a FULL COMIC and the story actually having some gravitas to it in the vein of Nakahira-sensei.
  19. 60 Million USD budget must've all gone to get Sean Bean to collect his paycheck.
