  1. Made another BFTG community roundup vid.
  2. Having caught up the last few weeklies I think you guys are overthinking it on NXT. There are parts it can improve on like a deeper main event pool or at least a less reinforced ceiling between the main event and the midcard, but apart from the matches being OK the angles seem pretty easy to understand. I enjoy NXT because the storylines are generally easy to get in terms of their importance in the title pictures.
  3. I want to run an NGBC tournament on it, just need to find the time.
  4. FT10 between Punk and Justin last week. This was what brought up the discussion referred to in my last post in this thread. Commentating is way too much fun. This tiny RR I was hosting wound up being for $230 and change. I'll be announcing the next one soon.
  5. Monty left voluntarily to care for his sister's family after she passed when he was in ECW. Otherwise he probably would have been who dethroned Punk as ECW champ instead of Chavo.
  6. Last I checked the Era were still antagonists unless that changed with the Pat McAfee feud. The way Finn was presented at the last defense sure felt like a babyface and especially the aftermath with his jaw being broken. You can contrast that with when Karrion Kross relinquished the belt and still the same grouchy murderer he's always been. I should also add that the Real Rock n Rolla persona isn't necessarily JUST for being a heel. Otherwise we have to pretend that Edge being a face at the end of his first main run and this year prior to injury doesn't mean he's the Rated R Superstar (which he clearly is). Same with Miz being the A-lister when he was a face on Smackdown prior to Jomo's return, or Drew somehow being a different character than what he is now when he turned face prior to his current main event status.
  7. Dynamite actually sounds pretty good from last night. NXT is still trying to find their go-to face after Keith Lee left. I think it's fair to say that Finn Balor is the top babyface now.
  8. https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813157736?Item=N82E16813157736&cm_mmc=snc-facebook-_-sr-_-orc-_-na&fbclid=IwAR2lj_snDczv6gZ7Y7S2bjuY3Od3StH6fP1rs1emK2HGCQKiEx8SKxgOanw this is the motherboard I have, it only goes up to 7th gen so the 7700K is the best it's ever going to take. I think it should be more than enough for what I need to do, which is stream my tournaments if I'm not working with Arturo.
  9. i7-7700K, the highest thing my motherboard can take.
  10. Let me know if this the Netcode update of prophecy. I'd love to revive my online locals that I dropped when my work started to require me to do home visits again. Check out the flyer we had!
  11. RTX 2070 Super has been installed, just need to do a quick run for a DIsplayport adapter for my second monitor. Doom Eternal is gonna hit different when that new update comes out.
  12. i was talking to someone yesterday about SFxT and the recent Punk/Justin set, and why I broke it down like I did. He had the gall to ask if me or any of the other veterans who never dropped the game could hang with these guys, like I haven't beaten a laundry of dudes who had their trips paid for on a worldwide scale. Obviously I bragged up my surge of accomplishments when they were fresh, but over time I was getting to a point like Tomo Ohira that the constant surge to stay on top was becoming taxing, not because I was afraid to lose, but because it felt like I was nearing the end of what I could possibly do in that game. Even if there were still people I had to beat, I remember how empty I felt after I won SUmmer Jam 2018, a fully capped SFxT tournament where i didn't lose a single game even though we had "trip paid for" guys like JB, Teiga, Vairos and others. I don't have any insecurities about who I am and what I accomplished. I only hyped it up so that I could continue drawing interest in SFxT and remind people while things got quieter, it never truly went away. I made sure of that. But all the same, I shouldn't have to constantly flex my rolex because dudes who aren't paying attention but have way too many subscribers to spread bad info want to chime in. I'll be that guy if I need to, but it would be nice if when I say something about something I've been involved in from every possible angle for what's going to be 9 years, and demonstrate what I mean, people don't question who I've beaten to say that. At this point, if you care to know, you're going to know.
  13. RTX got delayed, UPS is telling me it was mislabelled. SMH and my new power supply came in rushed yesterday too.
  14. Last night I got into an exchange on twitter with Javits about time overs. The Coke Slushee was hitting harder than usual on the sugar/caffeine rush so now I got heat with Xanoz and CoachSteve, and i linked the wrong set to prove my point. I needed Emezie to bail me out. I don't think the timer is why Time Overs happen so much. Once everyone optimizes and works their oki in a way where guys can't roll away free the rounds happen super fast. The issue is that the top tiers, particular Law, Hwoarang, Chun and Jin, can keep their turns seemingly forever. I think Hwoarang in particular actually CAN keep his turn forever until the other guy Alpha Counters him. If you removed that even to a point where they're still safe but their turn is clearly over, or just made some moves flat out unsafe but still safe on tag, Time Overs will pretty much vanish unless the other guy just doesn't know combos, at which point he's probably gonna get waxed anyway.
  15. Staying true to myself and my love for this game not only pushed the revival that we're enjoying the last year or so, but it got me the clout to work backstage last Capcom Cup and have exclusive talks with Ono (RIP) and Nakayama about the game. It is extremely empowering to have that kind of reputation not just among the FGC, but among developers. When I was poking my head in an nWay stream for Power Rangers of the devs called me out based on my legacy. And I still have PLENTY more to give. Stay tuned.
  16. Thankfully Justin had me and Striker to walk him through the Law and Jin matchups. Obviously he's a smart player but he wasn't even scratching the service of Hwoarang's tools in neutral. Once he has all of his punishes and block string nonsense down I don't think Punk is going to beat him, but for now Punk deserved to win. Shoutouts to Justin for keeping it close after it was looking like Punk was about to blow him out though.
  17. My RTX 2070 super should be here tomorrow. After the mess with the 3080 I figured i might as well get what's tried and true rather than attempt to get a first run 3070 that may have some early problems. That should future proof me entering the PS5 era and hopefully be enough for RPCS3 when the supposedly netplay is done. If that netplay is worthy then I might move SFxT events to that.
  18. Sonya being LGBT has been acknowledged a few times as well as the rainbow sash she had tucked into her ring gear occasionally. They just don't make it ALL she's about. And that was exactly my point about Liv/Lana. That was a bad way of doing it.
  19. As long as there's a broad mix it's not too bad. It can be a slippery slope where it goes from appreciation to appropriation. I'm sure everyone dreaded what was going to happen when Sonya Deville pushed that she was LGBTQ but so far she's been handled well. On the other end there was when that Liv/Lana wedding mess happened and Lana went on twitter defending it as progressive showing off a bi drama. YIKES
  20. Was it in any way progressive or was it more caricature stuff like what Sonny Kiss does?
  21. That's Dr. Luther, he was a hardcore wrestler in Japan back in the early 90s. Right now Jericho and friends are trying to get all of their buddies in on the money mark's cash flow before TNT decides it's too embarrassing to allow on their network, so expect more random guys from yesteryear huddle in while the money is still good.
