  1. https://meltyblood.typelumina.com/en/sp/faq/ All these questions about connection issues and all they need to be saying is get a wire bro lol
  2. It's like how the phrase "plays like Street Fighter" gets thrown around and means nothing. Like bruh, which one 😂
  3. It's not history washing. It's removing glorification of shitty things / shitty people. It would be safe to assume a statue is placed to honor someone.
  4. That's exactly how I feel. Combos are cool and fun, but that's only one fraction of what makes a game interesting. Especially with a game like AC that has so many different mechanics and movement options. Chipp is made for psychopaths in AC and it's thrilling trying to watch that little guy keep pushing or just blowing up. 😃
  5. Dislike button still there. Can't see how many dislikes there are. More bad content is going to blow up because now there is no way to discern if something is trash or not without watching the whole thing and getting that sweet ad revenue. YouTube's Project L (CAPITAL)
  6. Luke VS2 makes me feels like they are trying to teach some part of the meta (meaty, throw, shimmy) without just saying it. Question, is it too late to try teaching it to new players? 🤔
  7. Sometimes I put on a dbfz stream to help me go to sleep at night lololol
  8. I don't care about balance. I think it's boring is what I'm saying lol
  9. I played it a bit and watched one tournament years ago, I think it was combo breaker. Definitely seems like the kind of game where you just get the first touch and you win. Seems like a game I would play casually with the boys while shooting the shit. I know it has the deteriorating hitstun like marvel3 and there is that juggle limit thing that limits wall and ground bounce and a few other things. Doesn't look like it really matters tho since some characters can kill without meter or assist. I think it's got a bit of a way to go but it could be an alright game eventually. It's the same issue I have with dbfz. Combos are long and take forever and I feel like it's missing the fast action of other team games. Like anything could happen at any time and the momentum would shift drastically if players know what they are doing. Just sit in blockstun for a while, oh here comes the part where I get mixed up, okay I blocked it, continue on with the same thing.
  10. I don't think it's the greatest game ever either. I don't think any fighting game is really the "best game ever" lol. It makes sense then why the developers wouldn't want to get rid of all that tod nonsense. Mvc3 was busted but in a really weird way that I wouldn't put on the level of HnK. I can't explain it. It's almost like there wasn't an oversight (which HnK was definitely not meant to be that way) with the design and they truly wanted it to be that way and I think BFTG is definitely following the same philosophy.
  11. I will instantly hate this movie if there isn't a Mama Luigi joke
  12. spacies, guessies, mama mia, hand-warmers, friendlies... someone really needs to make a comprehensive list of all the names smash players come up with.
  13. ShadyK was the main guy in charge of all the design choices. Numerous times he has stated that "MVC3 is the greatest game ever made" lol. That quantum ranger guy is literally cable animations combined with vergil, it's so funny.
  14. I am so glad I am not in retail anymore, I heard they are calling this "revenge shopping" to make up for all the holidays people weren't able to go shopping. Sounds like some marketing gimmick 🤔 The parking lot for the mall near where I live has been extremely packed for the past few weeks now that restrictions are really being lifted. Sending my best wishes to all retail workers during all of this.
  15. This is damage control 101. It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not. It was clearly an excessive use of force that could have seriously hurt the other player and is definitely not a part of ball. You're a professional and gotta act like one. I don't get how you can defend this. I know they gotta protect his reputation, especially when you get a flagrant in Detroit, but cmon man.
  16. I think both games require a relative same amount of skill. Spacing, confirming, defense, everything that is fundamental to playing a fighting game. To me, technical does not equal skill since it's about using the techniques within a game. How you use the techniques might be related to skill somehow but generally, application and knowledge aren't the same thing. So if you disagree with me, it's just semantics at this point. A game can not have any techniques or technicality (Divekick, Footsies, SFV lololol) and still require a ton of skill. Therefore, I don't equate skill with being technical. I think the technical aspects behind both games are vastly different. Street Fighter 4 was jokingly called OS fighter 4 for a reason. Transition frames, backdashing, proximity guard, buffering on whiff/hit, etc. These were all things that had to be utilized at the higher level of play. There's a few of them listed in this thread , but there are so many character specific options for neutral, offense, defense, special situations (such as Rose spiral orbs)... there are many different ways to cover your options. Some characters it felt like they were playing the game for you lol. This does happen in Marvel 3 but not anywhere near to the same extent as sf4. Mvc3 was it's own kind of messed up bs where you had a comeback mechanic that could be popped at anytime and destroy an entire team in 10 seconds. While there was some OS such as pope select, the game in general I feel was not played with OS in mind. If you got hit, you either A) weren't blocking B) got thrown because you were blocking C) were blocking the wrong direction or D) put into a literal unblockable situation that you can't escape. Compared to SF4, you could be on defense and use the normal universal mechanics of the game (Block, backdash, neutral jump, invincible move if you have one) and still be beat out entirely if the opponent understood how to use an option select technique to beat all of those options. SF4 Abel is a good example of having a delayed cr.lk os that cover backdash, teched throws, and jumping away. I actually agree with this. I was more so making an observation of what they missed out on and maybe tapping into that spectator sport thing we were talking about earlier. Having a game rely on eatsports is cringe and sad. I think they basically did that with SF4 towards the end there with Capcom Cup and CPT, but it definitely felt like the heart was still there. I think I remember Riot did that press release where they wanted Valorant to be grassroots first for a bit, see if it was profitable potentially, and then go eatsports? I think they called it the Ignition series and it basically made everyone else do the work to promote their game lol scummy
  17. I wasn't really looking for an argument, I was just stating that I think there could have been an opportunity for something bigger than grassroots events through Mvc3. The contradiction I saw was how you said that mvc3 did well and then went on about how it wouldn't be viable as an esports thing and cited sales as a main point. If I misinterpreted that, oops. I guess it really comes down to viewing esports as entertainment, competition, or both and I think maybe this conversation has revealed that it's somewhere in a grey area. Some people watch and play for competition, some do it for entertainment. I guess comparing sf4 and mvc3 is like comparing apples and oranges. I think sf4 is absolutely a more technical game compared to mvc3 and that's why I think it is harder to understand as a spectator. I think being a casual viewer and seeing anything for the first time will be a sensory overload, so idk. Didn't Injustice have that esports thing funded by WB and Turner? It seemed like it did okay. I get what you're saying comparing the mvc brand to injustice and how the name alone won't carry it. I think the gameplay of mvc3 combined with the community, commentary, storylines, everything could have created something really unique for Capcom to capitalize on during that era. I hope this Project L game can do something similar to what I imagine. Let me fantasize damn it 😅
  18. I need to get one of those cases to put on the ends of the barbell when I go to the gym lmfao taking up the whole damn room
  19. Interesting to see. Previous KOF games it was difficult to anti-air and it was really important.
  20. Monthly Alpha 3 tourney hosted by BAS 😃 I'm stuck at work overnight so this is helping me get thru lol https://www.twitch.tv/d44bas
  21. You didn't know where I was initially coming from because of this statement. I was under the impression you thought I was undermining the performance it had within the tournament scene, when I should have clarified I was speaking more on terms of mainstream appeal, such as eatsports. Ironically this contradicts a lot of what you just said. Not a problem tho. Is League or Dota or Counter-Strike easily understood? Not really. Does that change it's appeal? Not sure, but they seem popular enough. I don't think you played SF4 enough to be honest if you think that was an easier to understand game. Surface level, I think it's a bit easier, I'll agree. The high level of play has so much going on that there is no way the average viewer will understand how or why certain decisions were made. In a high competition setting, you aren't watching beginners chuck fireballs and wake up shoryu all day. You're watching some really messed up setplay, multi-layered character specific OS, and ridiculous unintended game mechanics in motion constantly. At least in Marvel, if you get caught blocking and you get hit, you know that they messed up on defense or guessed wrong, not that all their options got beat out. That's my opinion regarding that comparison, I'll respect where you are coming from. It's really a revolving door when talking about comparing two different things on a micro level, especially subjective experiences with learning and understanding. Not even close to the same kind of game. I like Injustice, but it doesn't play like Marvel and it's not the fast kind of game that I think could succeed in an esports setting. I also think you might be undermining how extremely popular the MCU is and how the trajectory of that could play a role in acquiring interest. I'm not saying I expect absolutely huge, ground breaking things, but I think some esports organization / capcom / etc could have done more with Mvc3 than just majors and that one time it was at Capcom Cup.
