  1. I think that ultimately this means that the bonding experience with the Master characters is going to play out like a SF trivia. We’ll learn that Chun Li likes crepes or that Guile hates natto by talking with them and gifting them presents. Figuring out their likes and dislikes will build your bond with them so that they’ll teach you more techniques. Im interested in what sort of adventures the game has in store for the players and Bosch. I don’t think we’ll get a conclusion to Ken’s situation or even find out anything about the mystery surrounding JP. Ryu gonna stay getting ass beatings by Akuma when he’s released but none the less be this noble teacher to the new generation.
  2. There’s a review of World Tour up and this quote from it definitely stuck out to me about what to expect in terms of main meat and potatoes of the plot. The main plotline in World Tour isn’t anything to write home about. Your created character is introduced to a rival early on, and most of the narrative consists of you uncovering the shady stuff that the Gary to your Ash is tangled up in. Of course, your character gets wrapped up in several incidents along the way including fighting in a few tournaments, investigating gang activity, and platforming their way into a shady organization through a construction site. Y’know, normal RPG stuff. So it doesn’t seem like World Tour is going to spend much time on fleshing out established characters. It mainly sounds like it’s going to be focused on your own personally created characters and Bosch.
  3. I’d like to go back to this point because when you really think about what you’re saying it’s kinda ignorant. You didn’t mention the writing in SF4 because why? Sure it’s animated, that’s great. Was the story a bit as interesting as this comic? Did it push any boundaries or take any risks with the characters involved? Did it have any lasting effect in the later game story? No, No, & No. Not to say it wasn’t decent at best but it didn’t really do anything to further the story. It played everything very safe and even the loses characters suffer were quickly wiped away without any lasting effects. The Juri anime at best pushed the envelope and had the established main characters involved actually lose the day but at hardly any cost. Since Ken’s new redesign into Hobo Ken people have actually been invested on what actually happened to him to become that way. It’s such a drastic 360 on what we’re used to seeing from that character that people were interested in him again. The comic just added to that and now people have a reason to not like JP and he’s an established villain because of this. It’s like William Defoe’s Green Goblin in Spider-Man says. “But the one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying.” In terms of the hero’s story this is completely true. People don’t want to see the hero always come out on top. They want the hero to be challenged and knocked down a few rungs and beat up because it makes their come back all the more worthwhile.
  4. Bro this is a thread to discuss the story of SF. A well written character and story surpasses anything that’s animated or shot live action on screen. You can’t have a convincing production value on screen without something that convinces you in the plot. The crypto and social media crap is not the point of JP's character. The point is he's setting the heroes up against one another in convincing ways based in a modern setting and exploiting the heroes own backstory and conviction. Look at how he played both Ken and Luke against one another. He uses Ken’s own experience and bias against Luke’s own experience and bias and had them fight against each other based on their principles while he sat back and ate popcorn. It makes the characters more relatable if their going through something the audience can relate with on a personal level rather than just say they were brainwashed or drugged or experimented on whatever. JP is just a well written villain and the fact that most of us didn’t think of him as a villain just based off our initial thoughts on his design speak to this. When he was leaked with the other characters we didn’t think much of him as he was just another character in the cast. His mannerisms don’t seem like a villain either. It’s only until you read about him in the comic do you start to realize that he’s not exactly what he seems, and that’s after halfway through the series. That’s as original as SF story has gotten in a long while. It’s actually borrowing from some sort of real world experience. The story was even trending like this in 4 with Seth being the villain. He was the CEO of a weapons manufacturer that on its face wasn’t evil or dealing with Shadaloo. He was a villain hiding in the plain sight of the public which is exactly what JP is only JP seems more beneficial at face value.
  5. The thing is SF4 didn’t advance the story whatsoever. They kept everything before SF3 for two iterations of the game to keep the story safe from advancing. Sure they gave us two anime movies, but these anime weren’t giving us much in terms of new plot values. Apart from the Juri focused anime, TtB was just a rehash of the plot SF2 and Alpha gave us with the inclusion of Seth as a stand in antagonist for Bison. Seth was just a pawn for Bison to be used. Sure he gave an eloquent speech about how power is gained by different means, whether it be through wealth, beauty, or violence. Though we know this is just an extension of Bison’s will and thought process and still stuck in the past of SF SF6 in story terms is what story fans have been asking for since SF4 was announced and that was to proceed with the future plot. No more interlude now we have a sequel. The villain has evolved to become interesting and is actually someone that fans now despise. Unlike Gill and Seth he’s dressed to impress. People who should despise him are subsequently used as pawns to do his dirty work like Ken and Luke. He uses the means of society and technology to his advantage. He’s already felled one of the main stories protagonist before the main story even begins. He beat Ken without lifting a finger in terms of fighting. He manipulated Ken’s own pride and the world system in which he operates against him. He even turned Luke against him because of the circumstances. That’s why you’re meant to hate him because he does resemble someone you would label a villain in the real world.
  6. Bison is old especially if we’re to use his original body. T.Hawk remembered Bison when he was a child. THawk was born in 59 and his encounter with Bison is still the oldest canon SF event to happen. JP even knows about this event judging from his won quote to Lily. Even Bison’s newer body was showing signs of grey hair but that maybe because of the advanced aging process. Anyway, Bison was already a young man when he encountered THawk as a child. If this was during the 60’s then by the time SF6 happened Bison would be old. JP is probably as old as Bison if he would have kept his original body.
  7. Would suck if JP stood for “Just Playin” as in “Just Playin it’s me Bison in another skin suit. Lol yea Shadaloo is no more I turned everything into Amnesia because y’all keep forgetting who I really am. Im an international fundraiser fighter/streamer now and I’m all for producing content! Now who wants to see my cat named Cyble?”
  8. Here @Daemos The Japanese marketing for SF6 seems more of your taste. It features the classic SF2 AM Japanese climax theme. It features an actual athlete. It’s goofy as hell like SF usually is. Do you think that this energy matches and compliments what SF is going for?
  9. We all know SF is going for a more urban feel this time around so they found the most overhyped generic modern rapper from the past 2 decades to represent the “street” in Street Fighter. It’s a good marketing move because everyone knows him and SF. I haven’t liked Lil Wayne since I was in high school but he does match the urban vibe they’re going for in SF6. He doesn’t match SF as a whole but aesthetically he definitely matches SF6.
  10. Everyone loves to use Mel as a pinpoint for where the timeline should be placed in SF. How about using Dhalsim's wife and son. They're technically in the series in for a wider timespan. Everyone forgets that Sally was literally a teen mom at 17 having Dhalsim's son during SFA2 which is only a year after the first game. His last canon appearance is SF5 and he's basically still a kid shorter than his mom. In SF6 he's hit his growth spurt and is a young man at this point. Sally is probably in her mid to late 30's
  11. Consider the fact that Ryu's favorite present is probably this Natto covered ice cream which comes straight from the trash in Abigail's Scrap yard. If it's not I'll be surprised
  12. I'm calling it now I bet any money that the way to make Chun Li go 😍 and be able to call her into the fight in WTM is to give her Crepes. Chun's favorite food is crepes but you probably won't be able to get them from Meteo City. You'll have to travel to France and possibly beat Manon. Only after you travel to France and get crepes as an item and then back track to Metro City and gift them to her is how you'll win Chun's ♥️
  13. The streamer made sure to skip over anything in the dialogue that would spoil too much. All's you get are a few frames of artwork.
  14. Gen apparently taught Chun Li's Dad. Chun Li's Dad taught Chun Li a bit before being taken away. Shao taught Chun some more. Chun's crouching sweep was the technique borrowed from Gen. This is due to the fact that during Chun's initial development she was actually supposed to be Gen's daughter. @Miðgarðsorm and I had a discussion about this not too long ago. Chun was initially never supposed to be a cop and was more or less intended to be an assassin. She also had some sort of hair attack at this point. Maybe her hair buns held some sort of secret. 🤣 In the SF2 and Alpha series she had an attack called Gendenanstsushu (Gen's Assassination Kick) 元伝暗殺蹴. They've always had this sweep and they're named different things later in the series. Gen's is renamed Renge 煉疋 in Alpha series and SF4 but the look of it is still the same. Chun's is called Ryugakukyaku (Dragonbite Kick) 龍顎脚 in SF3 The devs seemed to like the idea of Gen having a daughter or granddaughter apprentice with hair buns because they revisited the idea again for SFV and then scrapped it again🤣
  15. Ryoredcyclone on Twitter states that this is actually Chun Li's uncle from one of the older books. I found more information on the topic from Chun Li's Japanese Wikipedia page This is a picture of him from the novel. It was never Gen it was Shao
  16. Here's some more new stuff from the video Akuma has two faces it seems. One looks more like Oni than the other. This one is AKI in another costume Marisa alts Guile with his hair down tied up Manon alt JP in his Nayshallian attire.... Remember in the first issue of the prelude comic that Ken was given a Cerulean Blue cloth to signify that the young King had picked him as a successor? Well we know that Ken isn't going to be receiving that cloth because he's been deemed a terrorist. Looks like JP may be wearing it and has been deemed the Kings successor with this alt costume. ??? Maybe he's in WTM or maybe this was Jamie during concept stages It says his name is Kung Fu Master Shao カンフーマスター 邵
  17. Process of elimation because all the other characters are accounted for in the base roster. It's a blurry pic so it could be her or it could be someone who got changed into Kimberly. Kinda like how Rufus from SF4 was King Cobra before he was changed.
  18. Here's a blurry size comparison of the fighters. Didn't realize Blanka was so big given the fact he's always posed crouching. Finger is ponting to Ryu but I can't seem to make out everyone. They seem to all be in their underwear. I think I goes. Silhouette Lily Cammy Juri Gief Jp Manon DJ Luke Ken Jamie Guile Chun Ryu Honda Kimberly? Marisa Sim Blanka
  19. https://youtu.be/q8SxyfsHlfs Here's some characters concept art in a video by Red Bull
  20. JP is is being written to be the most interesting villain SF has in this comic. I called it months ago, he's giving Ken types of scenarios Heath Ledger's Joker would use in the Dark Knight. The sad thing is we already know Ken's going to lose and JP is going to win. JP is playing everyone like a pawn in a chess game. He's not some Saturday morning cartoon villain like Bison. He's miles above what Seth was when he was introduced. Gill and the secret society aren't even on his level. I like how technology plays a big part in this comic. I thought it was going to take a more supernatural route but it's staying pretty grounded. Nobody's being brainwashed or kidnapped for experiments and it feels like a psychological crime thriller based in the modern age.
  21. @ShockDingo We need your help as well. You have a massive following on social media interested in SF lore. Can you put the word out for anyone that would be interested in helping us in this endeavor?
  22. That's why this needs to be a community effort I've literally seen a half a dozen or so people who claim to have canon SF sites on Twitter and YouTube. Most of which are already in the stages of just fledgling out. There are people who have multiple access to source material. We've all been trying our best over the years to culminate the best SF lore source possible. I believe our community has the best English canon source that rivals sources that are straight from Japan. @Miðgarðsorm @Lord_Vega @Doctrine_Darkand I have all done our parts in providing the community. Multiple translations and transiterations. Multiple access to overseas source materials. ALL FOR FREE! Just because we're willing to share with you. We need help in branching out! We need more people willing to translate. We need people to curate the information. We need more people willing to donate the time. This is all a giant task we're asking for and I knew this starting out. It's a thankless position and one which Capcom themselves can easily over ride overnight because they own the properties. But seeing as how they are still commandeering from the fans in terms of fan made source material (Lucia having the surname Morgan). Fanmade concept ideas (Ryu's SF6 costume concept being straight from a fan art). They obviously deem our time invested worthy of being implemented into the games and this should be documented as well. We all can't do this alone and this was meant to be a team effort starting out. We have the tools to make this more of a community effort but we can't just do it by ourselves. Community is key and I'm just hoping that we can get our plot guide project out there for people to want to honestly engage in. We need a moderator of sorts for that. I and @Lord_Vegaacting like one before this project became open. There were fewer people providing things back then so it was easier. Now it's more than likely going to become harder. There's so much info in the guide now and I'm kinda skeptical that this being open source just for the sake of convenience will open the doors to debauchery. None the less, the Google algorithms keep the older plot guide on the forefront so our newer one isn't susceptible to being discovered by newcomers who may or may not want to add whatever they feel is relevant. This can all change the instant we make things more aware which is why we need people to moderate and curate the information. I'm not trying to dump this whole project on just a few hands. I know the weight of this and it's not something to be taken lightly upon by just a few people. We all have lives outside of the threads and SF as a whole. These things need to be taken into consideration too.
  23. Ok found a way to access it on my PC here's a viable link. Super Street Fighter Plot Guide II(2022) Just to reiterate again: I can no longer curate the plot guide. Even though I started it years ago I no longer have the time to maintain it or to keep updating it. I originally bestowed this duty to @Lord_Vega with @Miðgarðsorm acting as transliterator. I downloaded the most recent copy and I opened the link for anyone to operate on (much to my dismay 😒) I'm just hoping the community doesn't treat this open invitation as some opportunity to make it into another Wikipedia page. Please treat the plot guide with some dignity and update it with RELEVANT STORY INFORMATION.....Please 🙏🏾 Yes, I want this, but since it's open source as of today I don't want it to become another Wik page. I want people to curate as much viable information as possible. I don't want tier lists unless it's something that is tangible like height, and weight, (bust & hips even 😏). I don't want things listed in the comics (Udon for example). I want things that are actually listed in the games or source material. If anyone wants to take the time to download a copy please do so. ☝🏾
