I just saw "Free Guy" Pretty good. It feels like Truman Show meets Matrix kinda. The cameo and surprise "Arm stuff" in the final battle made me lol. I didn't know Taika would be in it much less as the main "villain". Overall: 7.5/10

Wow. That's pretty cool. I don't think I could do 5 minutes much less 1 hr of stand up. It's a totally different experience from giving a prepared speech or ppt presentation to a mostly well behaved group of people. I would probably get upset at any hecklers or feel weird at the uncomfortable silence if no one laughs. Comedians deserve a lot of respect.

I just watched Book of Boba Fett S1. Pros: I dont know much about the character, but to me it was kinda interesting to see Boba try to rule justly despite being a hard bounty hunter. I guess he wants to to protect the sand people indirectly. Nice to see Sand people as not 100% EVIL all the time. Action including the train heist and the final battle Music Unlike Obi Wan this doesnt drag as much due to shorter episode lengths. Cons: Ep 5/6 feel like Mandalorian eps. While I like those characters, this is boba's show lol. Also, Grogu going back to Din so soon after going to Luke seems anticlimactic. The cyborg enforcers seemed cool. Its a shame we didnt get more character/backstory to them. The guy with the light blue skin and red eyes seems to have a Vader/Obi Wan relationship with Boba. I'm assuming he is from a cartoon or comic book? Maybe they could have built up to him more? Overall: Not the greatest thing ever, but solid. 7/10.

That guy could barely speak English let alone have any charisma or presence. Being Asian is not enough to defend his casting. Lambert didnt fight and may have been somewhat jokey, but a lot more memorable than Uncle Gambi or Hogun.

MK 1995 benefits a lot from other recent vg movies being absolute crap- 1993 SMB , 1994 Van Damme SF, Double Dragon etc. A grilled cheese is infinitely more appealing amongst a sea of poop. MK has the characters mostly looking and acting as they are in the game without weird changes in alignment (Balrog the hero. DJ and Gief are villains!) It also has some nice settings courtesy of shooting in Thailand and some good fights for the time (Liu/Reptile and Johnny/Scorp) Hell that black dude vs Liu good for a short fight (He should have played Deejay in SF lol) Even though bound by PG-13, they tried to do some tamer fatalities from the game like Subs ice grenade, Scorps immolation,and the pit knockdown. Unlike the sequel, it was mostly the three heroes and others as cannon fodder/henchman, Raiden the mentor, and Shang. Annihilation had way too many characters. Kano being Aussie made him more interesting. Liu having a brother killed by Shang is a bit trite but game Liu was still relatively straitlaced so it doesn't bother me. Reptiles cgi is bad but I'd still take that over the crappy makeup effects for Blanka in Van Damme SF. If I was a "real" move critic, I'd probably give it a 6.5 instead of 8/10 as a comic/vg fanboy.

I just finished Moon Knight. Cons: Interesting premise, but it DRAGS much more than any MCU show I've ever watched (netflix and Disney Plus). It was the first time I fell asleep and in 2 different episodes. They take too long to setup stuff. The actual Moon Knight is barely in the show. There's barely any action due to the blackout stuff. Ethan Hawke as a cult leader sounds cool on paper, but in reality Harrow is one of the most boring antagonists in Marvel's celluloid history. Layla is kinda bland too, and I didnt give a crap when she became whatever hero she became at the end. The post credit scene should have been in the actual show itself. Pros: Oscar is a good actor and makes some of it watchable and the backstory in ep 5 relating to his childhood trauma is interesting. Sorry, but I did not enjoy this at all. 5/10

I just saw Thor 4: Thor's whores. Pros: Christian Bale as Gorr. Unsettling, somewhat sympathetic. Visual Design eps that city, the black and white place Jane Fosters role and resolution of her conflict Cons Valkyrie could have had some more screentime and I would have loved some romantic elements Gorrs origin could have been longer and more devastating with some other peeps on his planet. That character could have been shown in some happier situations before the dark stuff happened. Outside of the GNR tunes, the music was lacking. While I generally like MCU humor, I think sometimes it should be held back to let some sincere emotion through. Thor himself is getting a bit too goofy. If they do another one, I'd like it to be more serious like the first film. I am generally a sentimental squigga, but the ending didn't move much me as much I'd hoped. Part was because certain old characters hadn't been seen a while (9 years) and other were only in this movie for a limited time. Overall: A decent film but not as good as Thor 3 and 1. 7.5/10
