I don't actually think he is. Capcom wants it to appear so, but there's enough out there to make it ambiguous.  Plus the current team has said they love how people are playing with the mystery of it all. I don't think they would just spill everything now and so abruptly.

As of SFV there's a few things:

    - With Wayne Nakamura's profile, there's mention he saw a man in an American port. This seemed to be Capcom quietly confirming the "Is Q in Ken's SF2 stage" theory that's been around for a while

-In SF3 supplementary material Richard Burgman issues a statement that the CIA cannot confirm or deny the existence of "The Trench Coat Man", an urban legend. It appears that there've been so many sightings and public curiosity that Burgman, the PR guy for the CIA, felt the need to put out something to get people to stop bugging them about it. SF3 seems to be a few months away from SFV and 3S a year after that. It's not impossible for a legend to start that quickly, but I get the feel that Q's been around longer than than a few moths to a year.

-In the developer's notes, they show that Q's mask is apparently supposed to have a keyhole and some of the notes mention that Q "feels like it's being manipulated from behind the scenes". I'll be covering this in the SF3 round up video I've been working on for months, but with the Ring of Galaxy stage, you can see camera men walking around with G's story costume mask, NOT  Q's. The big difference is that Q's shell-like mask looks like he's locked into it, but G's is like a hockey mask with a strap that he could seemingly remove at will. With all the posturing that G's gonna be a huge deal, I don't see his situation being wrapped up in 4 months and no one really being affected by it. Gill doesn't recognize G, but his powers seem familiar. In SF3, Gill says he has no idea who or what Q is.  Here's the translation from @Miðgarðsorm:

-With the revelation that some stories for SFV take place after SF3, it's possible G's takes place after. Th Illuminati's existence is incredibly hard to prove, but Gill fully unveils himself on G's incredibly popular stream. In SF3, I never got the vibe that anyone knew of Gill and the society publicly. If G's story is after 3, then that puts even more distance between him and Q since he's been around long enough that people have not only crafted urban legends, but he' s seen enough that all of his move names are rough descriptions the public has given to him  when he's in action.

-If the CRI profiles are correct, then as of SFV, Viper has been tailing Q for a while

-Q's skin colour is something I've been going on about for ages. It's a mystery. In some art, he clearly looks lighter skinned, possibly caucasian, but in some pieces his neck looks tanned, then is the actual in game sprites where you can see his neck skin or the skin above his socks, his skin is pretty tanned, not quite as dark as Dudley's, but more tan that someone like Alex or Ken.

-G is cocky and sure of himself , flashy, agile and wants to get his name & face out there. Q,  in his only spoken bit of dialogue refers to himself as an abomination, he's very simple in his clothing choice, he's powerful & lumbering, and doesn't make his presence known unless he wants to be seen and seems like the comic hulk in that he wants to be left alone. (he scares off the people following him in his intro)

    - Going back to the Ring of Galaxy stage, his staff members all wear that SFV story mask, while Q is locked into his. He may have been special or rebellious in some way. Whether or not Ring of Galaxy is true, the staff give an interesting hint of things to come. Everyone thought G was a joke, but he gained a surge of popularity after being Rashid. It kept growing after beating Menat and others. He then, in his arcade ending wandered the globe and capture more attention and support. With him being enough of a public figure for GILL of all people to utilize him for his grand unveiling says something about his amount of reach. It's no stretch that he'll gain followers. Since his unveiling and that promo image of G being shown looking rather evil, I got the vibe he was some sort of villain making his own organization. It's since been confirmed he's a boss and a huge threat to the world. It could easily make sense that This President of the world gimmick is his latest plot, but he's been around for a while, choosing only to resurface after Shadaloo's downfall. If he previously made Q or ensured his creation, but Bison or something drove him underground, it would make sense that now in the times of peace, he'd start to steadily sway people to his side.  Many of us have theorized that there's multiple Q's hence the appearing all of the world at contradicting times. It could be that Q is just a mind controlled agent, or he rebelled, got punished, escaped and now the others are hunting him. Heck, G's profile showed that one of the possible agents is female.

Wow, this thread was actually quite nice to read. First and foremost i never knew that Q had a "keyhole" of sorts, i guess this was information i never had a chance to look into. The whole Q cult is actually a nice storyline that Capcom should pick up on. At first I just thought he was one of the freaks in the Secret Society but I digress.

  2. 7 hours ago, CESTUS III said:

I still think most logic step is Q being G who got defeated/captured and turned into a remote-controlled fighter (by Dr.Woo?).

Secret society would be the most easy candidate, even if Gill already defeated him and let him go, but still.

Maybe he did'nt considered G a threat at that point... after all he's so sure about his destiny that did'nt even bothered lift the ass from his throne to take on Bison directly lol

Of course there's also the thing they have a "G Project" thing going on and the fact Gill seems the only one who seem to have recognized the true nature of G's power (meaning it's likely something known by SS world, maybe even that G was one of them)

Thing is i doubt even if true we will know all this soon, imho soonest would be a SF6 focused on G and good guys defeating him -> somebody kidnap what's left of him

As usual i feel story progression wise SFV has been an huge wasted opportunity, there was easily room (but likely not money) for a second story chapter, G should have been introduced there, same for NeoShadaloo birth etc

A problem of SF future development is that them being so fucking unable to complete arcs limit the room for new stuff

    At the moment

-G arc still have to begin

-If they plan something "big" with Q, still have to begin

-NeoShadaloo story still have to begin, both birth and Bison ghost thing

-They will probably do a retelling of SF3 events

-We will never get not cucked by Akuma Boss till the day Ryu finally defeat him/end his bullshit

That's lot of stuff, not easy move in new directions

All these twists and turns with no resolve or not moving forwards makes my head hurt 😪. Can we just get the UDON writers to come fill in for them. It might be trash but hey.

Capcom def paid more attention to the waifus of the game, which explains why they tend to look better than the male characters.

Personally, SFV is my favorite when it comes to the characters visually. Not just with how they look, but the animations and follow-throughs of some of the moves (most notably Season 3 onward).

I feel that almost every SFV female character looks like the best they've ever looked before. I think this is the best version of Chun-Li from a visual standpoint. And some of my favorite male characters that I think look really good in SFV are M. Bison, G, Zeku, Urien, and Vega. I know there are some misses like Ken's face, Abigail's bulldog face and head-to-body proportions, and Kage looking like the Spirit Halloween Store version of Evil Ryu. But I do feel there are more hits than misses when it comes to the visual aspect of Street Fighter 5.

I started in my previous comment that Bengus's story artwork does feel rushed, which explains the terrible art character stories for the first 16 characters. And as Daemos said, the ending arcade artworks look great too.

The devs stated that the SF characters have abnormally bigger hands and feet to serve as visual markers for where their normals are spaced. Much easier to see the footsie range of a big fist or foot rather than a normal sized proportionate one.

In my personal opinion, Chun-Li received the most love visual wise in the game

  4. Sorry to interrupt this talk about Street Fighter's art style but i  like to add Sally's bios from the AAC. Her SFZ2 and SFZ3 bios were already translated so i plugged in her SF2 series ans EX series bios. Feel free to correct and revise any mistakes.

Sally Street Fighter 2/Champion Edition/Turbo/Super Street Fighter 2:

    Sally【Character・♀】■ SF2/SF2CE/SF2T/SSF2

Dhalsim’s wife. She has a son, Datta, with Dhalsim. It appears that she practices yoga like her husband, and has the special ability to be able to regulate her food intake. Her name and appearance are not yet revealed in the game.

Sally Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo:

    ■ スパ ⅡX

    ダルシム の エンディング が 描 き 直さ れ た のに と も ない 、姿 が 登場 。一児 の 母 と は 思え ない ほ ど 若く て かわいい 。

    ■ SSF2T

She appears in Dhalsim’s ending although it has been redrawn. She looks young and cute that you can’t believe that she’s a mother of a child.

Sally Street Fighter ZERO2 "Alpha 2":

    ■ SFZERO2/SFZERO2 Alpha

    Age: 17 years old/Height: 156cm/Weight: 40kg/Three sizes: B82・W57・H86

The cute girl who looks much too good for Dhalsim, who is only 17 in this game (!). She appears in Dhalsim’s ending hugging her newborn son: Datta, encouraging her husband. Furthermore, she rushes to support her husband in Dhalsim’s stage, with her facial expressions changing from sad to happy matching her husband’s outcome of the fight.

Sally Street Fighter ZERO3  "Alpha 3":

    まだダッタを身ごもっ たばかり。 ダルシムステージ では、 身重の身体を押して夫を応援する。

Still pregnant with Datta. She appears on Dhalsim's stage, pushing her pregnant body to cheer for her husband.

    Sally Street Fighter EX2:

    姿 は 見せ ない が 、「 スト ZERO2 」同様 、 エンディング で 夫 を 励ます 。

She doesn’t appear, but similar to “SFZERO2”, she encourages her husband in his ending.

As a side note, Sally is pretty cute 🥺, i wonder why she didn't appear in the first rendition of SF2 like Eliza, but i like her appearance.

I miss Alpha 3 Bengus.  Some of my favorite concept art ever...
    OBLYn19.jpg

No.  It's just SF4's style again.  And I didn't like SF4's, but I gave it a pass cause it was SF's first real 3d graphics game.

All over the place.  Most of them from SF Alpha and SF3.  The 1, 4 and 5 sprites came from various deviantartists.  All the SF5 ones came from Reluu.

i always loved this art style so much. SF4 artwork was okay to me, i wouldn't complain but it was dependent on certain characters because some wouldn't look right.

In-game is better than SF5 style but it is still bad. Proportions suck, everyone is a chunky roid monster and a lot of costumes are overly busy. Lighting is also pretty garbage. Not an attractive style. Compare to something like the new SamSho that is visually gorgeous and coherent while having a similar character aesthetic to SF5 BUT with far far FAR better proportions.

The cut-scene style is embarrassing. Bengus was a highly influential artist to me and the quality of work now is flat-out bad. It's such a regression in effort

I understand what your saying, some of the characters that were drawn are disproportionate and looked awful. Only a few stories were well drawn such as Cammy's and Kolin's.

Tbh one of few things that make me kinda optimistic we MAY get a SF6 of the quality SF deserve, is that if they have half brain still working, they know they simply can't fuck up

Overall SF have tons of haters, and after SFV shit is even easier for them

If SF6 want to have smooth hype start after the perceived shitshow that SFV was, SF6 needs to be simply flawless

Hopefully it won't be as bad but if it is another shit show, im talking to whoever the mfs responsible cause they need to be sued for confusion and emotional damages

Can't go into great detail, I'm at work.

In Game: I like the in game models for the most part. Outside of few fuck ups like Alex 😔 and Ken's face. It's good overall.

Art Work: It's a fail. The opposite of in game models. There are a few gems like Kolin' s story mode art but most of it is subpar with really bad anatomy. I'm not one those people that are anal about anatomy but Laura's back when she's putting Sean in a headlock fucking atrocious.

Bro, i love Kolin's artwork so much and i also like her in-game model in the general story mode, it was so nice 🥺 and yes, whoever drew that shit needs at least 25 years to life for that 😐

    Ingame?

Hit and miss, have good moments but also terrible ones.

Person who chosen some SFV color palette gimmicks i hope will not be anywhere near SF6.

Overall i would say it's "decent", wich if is'nt negative itself it's definitely below what i expect from the most important fight game saga of vg history

    Artworks?

I can barely point what SFV artworks art style is... we have some shitty renders, some Bengus story art, some arcade endings by 78 people some of wich from udon, kiki doing promotional stuff, some cover art from fucking artgerm, some more shitty renderings. Bunch of styles and things that barely make sense next to each others

Literally can't point wich is SFV visual identity because not even SFV people know it, only thing i can clearly see is that SFV art, whatever SFV art is, is not the best i seen from SF

    Concepts?

I liked most of the job done, except parts touched by Kiki. I don't care (actually i do, but not much) for promotional art, but make Kiki do lot of alt costumes was a mistake... now some will say Kiki costumes were best, i can care less lmao

Beside Kiki impacting otherwise pretty good concept production, real problem of concepts is that in next phase, beyond their control, 3D modellers took lot of personal liberties and as result good concepts were ruined. Of course 2D to 3D is'nt 1:1 job, specially with tech/ingame style chosen, but on top of that you have them take liberties

Wich is why #3 of my wishlist have that if you really must outsource i would like them to work with art director breath on their neck 24/7... SF6 deserve better.

The Bengus guy everybody complained about?

I am NOT a fan of his SFV job. I liked some stuff he did, but overall his work disappointed me

For that reason when i do a list of who i would like do SF6 artworks and a list of who not, he's in latter (would keep him for chara design/alts concepts work though, and ironically it's a more important job if we consider impact)

But when i seen the kind of internet shitstorm by people gave him, most without even the knowledge to have a decent opinion to begin with, defend his position was like the lesser evil lmao

But yeah, still fresh of SFV ask me list of possible candidates to do SF6 artworks and you will not find him in my 10 names

Okay now this thread was funny to me a bit 😂, but i will agree that some of the artwork and in-game stuff are a hit and miss

  10. Bison has been dead and will forever will be dead. He's worse than Nash and Kenny from South Park and if he ever comes back alive, im suing somebody for emotional damage because why is he alive 😪. Man has been showing out ever since SF2 with the whole "we were in love" incident with Ms. KILLER BEE...i mean Cammy.

Anyways, Takayuki should really make a plushie that looks like him. I would buy it 🥺

  11. 8 hours ago, Darc_Requiem said:

Get that speech ready fam. I like what the new guys have done since they took over SFV but I'm not going to believe Capcom has got their shit together until I've seen it. On the bright side, they give me hope that Capcom wont fuck it up. I didn't have that before.

They have done better regarding SF5, however they haven't fully redeemed themselves. They still suck and will forever be on bullshit.

  12. 1 hour ago, CESTUS III said:

No for wrong character profiles i mean the classic "little box" of info that every SF char have

Think the small text section where they put name, birthday, height, weight, nationality, fight style, like/dislike etc... basically some sort of expanded ID card that is a classic of SF format

There you have tons of straight errors or omission that can be for many reasons

Sometime Capcom even fix it themselves, but they seem to don't give much fucks about these, so it may take very long before they fix it, or they don't even do it

Good example of Capcom fixing it are retard SF2 weights, that got fixed just recently with SFV after decades lol

Couple of easy examples can be

    - Zangief gone from very low 254 lbs (115 kg) to 400 lbs (181 kg) in SFV

    - Sagat from from ridicolous low 172 lbs. (78 kg) to 216 lbs. (98 kg) in SFV, wich is still way too light for a 7'5" man, but at least little improvement (ironically fucking SF1 had the best weight at 262 lbs./119 kg wich was never used again)

Then you have stuff where marketing interference played a role to dumb down shit furthermore

These i would surely love to see fixed, possibly with Capcom giving actual care about it

But story events canon and char biography are a total different matter, and theories sold as facts/fanon/dumb wiki/capcomUSA (lmao)/fanfiction/not-canon media... they add even more pollution in the already difficult task to put together the SF canon puzzle, wich by himself already put lot effort on hide pieces in most obscure places lol

If capcom doesn't get it together by SF6, im calling them directly to have a nice friendly talk...

  13. 1 hour ago, CESTUS III said:

It's because while at first everybody seems to agree on "wow capcom sucked on that, shit writing, weak story here and ther" and everything it's good, then somebody open Pandora's Box saying the mighty "fans would write it better"

    And then monsters appear.

Again, only thing i would like to get fixed are clear wrong/shitty profiles info (wich tbh would be LOT to fix lol), but even at that canon does'nt works like that

Yeah, tried to search something there but could find nothing (even if in my case must admit i had pretty vague key-words to work on lol), well good we got another piece ever by Capcom confirming more or less same thing 😄

    Thanks for the reply anyway

Hey, i understand that logic! It's actually a good approach and idea to keep in mind! Thank you for the insight. And character profiles, yes like they'll literally add and then take away 😐 which is annoying and confusing, but i remember lore really well so it's no biggie for me 😄.

Also something I found out that is very much off topic....

    Spoiler

Falke has a barcode on her left ankle on her story outfit (exactly where those red and yellow linings are on her default outfit....😐

Currently debating on ending my gaming career or just sit here and cry

Also, i still have access to those old forums, it's just certain key words you have to type or it would tell you to do a Google search. Are yall locking for those old translations?
