at least the 2nd ep is alot better than the 1st ep in every way. 1st ep was pretty dull.

thats an issue i had like i mentioned before i had to hit rewind a couple of times cuz the show for some strange reason expects you to know who da fuck these characters are with no exposition in the very beginning. it just drops you in and your like "???" they tried to like fix it by having a explanation of who the characters are in the EXPLORE section of the rings of power amazon homepage. where they have a list of characters and their pics with explanations as to wtf they are. but getting that info from the ROP homepage is like getting an explanation of things from the back of a video game box. that was whack of them tbh. you def gotta hit rewind a couple times on ep 1. one thing i dont get which the show shouldve done better to explain is the timeline of when this is all happening im assuming its happening pre lotr? or after lotr events? i cant tell if its before the events of lotr trilogy. or after the lotr events. i cant tell. the show expects you to know these things. it expects you to be the biggest tolkien nerd, which most peeps arent. uh. but Tokien IS boring. sooo yea. like sonero said, faithful to the source can we agree at least that the music is amazing? cause thats a great score imo. the music isnt by the same guy that composed the LOTR/HOBBIT movies. its by a guy named Bear mcCreary. its the best thing about the show imo. im just gonna wait till end of the season to judge it cuz trying to judge this show so soon might be mistake cuz you cant judge Westworld or Lost tv shows on the 1st couple eps obviously, isnt wise but whatevs. dude dropping from the sky like songoku monkey king in a meteor might be interesting tho.

who was your fav artist/illustrator? mine was kent williams. he wasnt a penciler, he worked as an inker. very few works for marvel. criminally underused imo.

i luv tin tin. tin tin shouldve been bigger in the usa. as for image comics. when image came out in 93 i think.. image had just a few comics. biggest ones were spawn(mcfarlane) and wildcats(lee). but imo, they just seem like copycats of spiderman and xmen which both artists previously worked on. point is. image had great artists, but no good writers. at the time. but eventualy they found better writers. n better comics because of it. i think i still have wildcats issue 1 somewhere. btw, amazon has a good library of downloadable comics. ive bought a few good comics here and there. its a trip to buy a digital comic and "flip" the pages with finger swipes on the screen.

i started with xmen def. i liked xmen cause it was sorta like, superheroes vs racism. and i d reading around when the genoshans were doing concentration camps genocide on mutants. i read most of the marvel shit. todd mcfarlane did amazing spider man before they gave him his own spidey comic. jim lee was new on the scene. never really got into dc. then image comics appeared and i stopped reading everything. then many years later i started a lil with the manga. mostly beserk. never really did much manga reading. last manga i bought was..star wars manga. the new one. not the old one based on the movies.

i just bought code vein. its on sale for 12 bucks on steam right now. heads up.

i find tolkien to be too slow paced. and as you say long winded, the flowery aspects of his writings i dont mind all that much. mostly that in certain parts of his stories he has a tendency of doing too much talk n not enuff action. i hate hobbit way more than lotr tho. oh btw, i forgot to mention one thing about rings of power. the music is fanfuckingtastic. its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay good. like conan the barbarian, good bad and ugly, star wars type good the soundtrack is a slam dunk home run.

again, just watch the show, at least ep 1, n dont judge it without seeing it. if i found it watchable even tho i hate tolkien...youll b fine.

i saw ep 1 of rings of power, and i wasnt even thinkng of tropes or strong female characters cuz that show EXPECTS you to know in advance most of the tolkien lore n im rusty with his lotr/hobbit lore. so i had to rewind a few parts to follow wtf people were even sayin. most of the time my mind was on tryin to remember lotr/hobbit lore to grasp wtf the characters were talking about. ep 1, it wasnt bad at all. i recommend u watch it. youve seen worse n wasted an hour on less.
