I'm surprised to see that we do not have an official FGC retirement home (FFXIV) thread, so I'll tell my story here, I beat China, I beat Steam I beat SQUEX in one fell swoop today, all thanks to porn! For those who are unaware I'm an avid MMORPG player and I've been playing FFXIV on an off since when it was shaite, meaning 1.0 I've collected lamps from Amal'jas son. Ya'll don't even know! Anyway basically FFXIV has been the only game I play that is not a fighting game for the longest time. Love the game. I lost my original 1.0 account a long ass time ago, or rather, I didn't keep playing on it because I bought the game on steam on a sale at the end of ARR and I couldn't use my old account on steam because Square is dumb as whole fuck. For those who don't know a Steam copy of the game is considered different from a PC copy of the game (they use the same launcher and you have a separate account from your steam account on anyway, but your game is always and forever going to be a steam copy). Anyway, some years ago FFXIV landed in china, but for some reason they have their own servers. FFXIV gets removed from the Taiwanese Steam store as a result. Don't ask me why, Taiwan is clearly not china and our store is not the chinese store, is the Taiwanese store, even tho you cannot then pick Taiwan as a goddamn country when Steam asks you to chose your country of residence from a drop down menu. This means that to buy expansions I need to change my store. In the past that was easy, log in with a VPN or have a friend from Italy log my account, go to change store location, they see the log in in Italy, they let you pick Italy. Not anymore. Now you try and change store country and they tell you to contact them. It can fuck you up bad. After failing miserably at buying the new expansion through a steam key I hatched a plan of bullshitting my way into having them change my store country while covering my ass. I contact and start my lie. They answer me with a pre-made text that answers literally none of the question I asked in my elaborate lie. But they do send me a link to a steam page that explains an even newer way to change store country. Just buy something from that store they say. VPN up find the cheapest game on my store LEWDPOCALYPSE 50 cents 1.buy the shitty lewd game made in flash that is clearly a fucking newgrounds game. 2.Store is now italian 3.Buy Endwalker 4.go to mogstation 5.insert pre-order key 6.???? 7.PROFIT! Man, I am happy but I am also very worried. There's like 7 available slots left and I don't see a place where Angel could go, and without Angel I don't have a 1st slot character. Plenty of characters I'm different levels of confident with, but no point. Hopefully if there's no Angel on release I can make Shermie work as point.
