  1. I love that they added a dedicated zoner in JP, but I think they went a bit overboard with the full-screen command grab.
  2. Volt has done some soul-searching and found Blanka-sama. He opened up his heart to the Green Lord and now he fully devotes himself to be the best Blanka player he can be. He's probably labbing as we speak while reciting prayers and heaping praise unto Jimmy. Volt wandered in the darkness, but now his soul is saved. Bless him.
  3. Finally got some time to play this game and lab Blanka for a bit. I was going to play for 5 minutes and then lament how weak he is and how he needs buffs, but he seems pretty damn strong in this version. In fact, the sheer number of his offensive options is pretty overwhelming. Great Blanka ball very safe on block, quick recovery for throw shenanigans, full screen command grab, great pokes, Blanka chan trickery, backstep roll shenanigans, new airborne ball, etc., etc. Seeing how there's no longer any SRK character threads, can anyone direct me towards a reputable combo page? I'm getting too old to figure this stuff out on my own. @Voltwhere do you get your tech for our favorite character?
  4. Wait, what have I missed during my absence? Have you finally accepted Blanka-sama as your Lord and Savior?
  5. Not a big fan of command grabs having so many start-up frames. I was hoping that was a one-off for SFV. Oh well. By the way, happy birthday @Sonero
  6. Think you've seen some hideous arcade sticks, do you? Think again. Today, I saw a guy with a light blue arcade stick with the Twitter logo on it. Yes, the Twitter logo. I wonder, out of the literally billions of concepts/images you could've decorated your stick with, you couldn't come up with anything better than the fucking Twitter bird? Did this guy just pick the first thing that popped into his mind and say to himself: "Yeah, let's go with that". Since I was equally dumbfounded and fascinated by this atrocity, I asked the guy if I could take a picture of it. He gave me a puzzled look, that must've been the first time anybody ever wanted to take a second look a that abhorrent thing, let alone take a picture of it. He probably thought I was mocking him, and he wouldn't be wrong.
  7. An octogate is more precise, especially with the diagonals, but a square gate has a shorter throw. I've played extensively on both and I definitely prefer the latter (as do most people) even though my first arcade stick had an octogate.
  8. Sir, I will have you know that I am a Blanka player; we are famous far and wide for our online etiquette. These baseless, slanderous accusations shall not stand.
  9. Some troll might've started it before Shakunetsu and then deleted the original post, all the while laughing while everyone is wishing you a happy birthday. I wonder who would be capable of such a dastardly deed?
  10. Why the hell is everybody wishing Twinblades a happy birthday? It's not his birthday.
  11. Seems like lag will be a major tactic for me again. Once I figure out a way to combine the slowness of dial-up with the instability of Wi-Fi, I'm all set. I'm contemplating moving to Mexico or Brazil to further enhance the effect. Sabotaging the connection of an online match is a science, and I'm Einstein and Newton all rolled into one. Brazilian Kens will tremble before me and subserviently acknowledge me as their superior.
  12. Do the hit- and hurtboxes correspond with the animation on screen? Yes? Then it can't feel like SFV.
  13. None of those games should even be in the top 10 except VF5. Peak gaming journalism from IGN once again.
  14. Yes please, give me Naruto fighterZ, but with some adjustments relative to Dragon Ball FighterZ. For starters, make it not suck.
  15. Is baldy going to thank the whole damn planet before we can continue?
  16. I'll buy anything DD related, I even still have that awful movie. As bad as it was, it did have some memorable quotes: "You're weak like your father." "You're ugly like your mother." "This river's water is gross." "Should have a seat and a lid over it."
  17. Principally I agree with you, but SF's buttons will forever be jab, strong, fierce, short, forward and roundhouse. To hell with mp and hp.
  18. You are really showing what a transphobic bigot you are by misgendering Makoto. We have transgender people in games now, you'll just have to learn to live with it. I could go into why all the characters from America are cis-gender white guys and not, for example, Puerto Rican, but I'm guessing that's fine with you as I bet you hate Puerto Ricans as much as transgender people. There are about a million problematic things about SFII besides its obvious exclusion of transgender people: - No openly gay characters - Only 2 female characters - No representation from non-human animals. I guess Capcom cares as little about animals as they care about the LGBTQ+ community. - No representation of people on the spectrum; they could've easily made - for example - T.Hawk even more inclusive by giving him Asperger Syndrome, but apparently the developers weren't considerate enough to think of that. - In that same vein, there's no character with schizophrenia either. That would've made for a great stance character. Missed opportunity yet again. - No full amputees. Just because you have no arms and legs doesn't mean you can't fight. - No verbal only character who doesn't use a martial art, e.g. a Schopenhauer devotee who convinces the opponent to give up voluntarily, as all existence is pointless anyway. Capcom seriously needs to work on their inclusivity, and not listen so much to Puerto Rican-hating people like Sonero.
