  1. @RSG3Rather than quote that whole block, even if something is not for me, I can still have an opinion on it, same as how you form many opinions on things that will never you. Arent you sharing your opinion about my opinion about a mythical fish? I don't care specifically for the story of The Little Mermaid, but rather I DO care about what she is representing which is a perpetual need to promote white stories with a coat of minority paint. I still stand by that I am all for original black/hispanic/asian/middle eastern/indian/every other minority stories/characters. What is wrong with my preference for that vs race swapping? I just want to hold storytelling to a higher standard. To accept an adaptation based on a culturally white European and race swap/gender swap characters is lazy and takes away from promoting original stories. Heck I'll stand by that for ANY swapping combo. Disney had a big miss with The Little Mermaid. They actually had a character created years ago they could have built upon. https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Gabriella Sorry but I am passionate about this as a guy who went to college for animation. Animation is storytelling via pictures, I learned how writing a good character is just as important as designing the character. Saying it doesn't matter is disingenuous.
  2. The framing of this argument is Disney's original ver was a white redhead based on the novel, NOT the novel itself. While Disney is free to change their own interpretation it's lazy because they're retelling the whole (disney) ver of the story but she's black. I don't suddenly care, I have always cared about an accurate portrayal of characters. But Nani is still a fictional character just like Ariel. Just so I am clear you care about one fictional over the other, you and you don't care about the skin color of this set of said fictional characters correct? I never said big booty, you're making assumptions. EDIT - @3:31 they make their point that I agree with. I'm against forced representation. That's my overall point to all this race swapping/gender swapping.
  3. BRUV, let me be clear, I stand by keeping characters accurate to their source material. Ariel is fictional but was created by Disney on a story that was based on a European story. Keep her as is based on that. A new example FROM DISNEY AGAIN is Nani from Lilo and Stitch is a fictonal character who is a dark brown Hawaiian woman and thick, but the actress Disney chose doesn't look like Nani from their own creaton. KEEP HER BROWN AND THICK! If you don't care Ariel is black, then you must equally must not care Nani is nearly white yes? You or anyone making this argument cannot have it both ways. The other solution is make a new original character. Stop accepting the leftovers of classically white characters.
  4. I realize if we want equality, we need to insult equally more, for each person that says "white people nonsense" I need to say something about black people. It's only fair. But real talk, the solution to portrayal of historic characters is to stick to *Gasp* who they actually were? You can do a reinterpretation but don't expect it to go well if you're trying to pass it off as historical fact.
  5. woke currently = leftism/overtly progressive for the sake of being progressive. Example, Black Ariel..."Blariel" if you will
  6. RE4. I own GCN, Wii, X360, Xbone, Virtual Console, Switch, rented PS2. Game is perfect.
  7. Finally got Advance Wars reboot and I'm loving this game all over again. Love the presentation!
  8. So after nearly two weeks of trying to train to be a VIP tour guide at work, my trainers decided I will not be given a shot at doing the final assessment. I unfortunately don't have the right Disney approach. I did well with real families in training but among the training group I appeared too standoffish as I was told. I can't help that my voice is naturally harsh or how my face looks when I am thinking. Maybe the position was not for me. 😕
  9. I got my animation degree in the wrong era. Having said that animation now than ever has many ways to go. Flash, CGI, and hand drawn 2D are available at all levels but hand drawn takes a long time to dedicate time to so it's fallen out of favor. I love 2D forever but I understand demand/efficiency runs many things
  10. ok I'll rephrase, The complains won't be as bad as the current ones where Disney is in a need to modernize/revision and thus divides their own audience.
  11. Been keeping an eye on this and it's hilarious. The same people who claim Black Ariel is ok, claim a lighter skinned Nani is bad. The argument is Ariel is fictional...but Nani is fictional too? BUUUUT Nani is based on a real culture...but said culture doesn't have lighter skinned Hawaiians? EVER? See the solution was easy, just keep everything as close to the source material as possible and no one will complain OR (as I keep saying) just make a new original character that has a clean slate, input whatever you want OG character to be and you're good to go.
  12. I don't hate it, I still believe that RE4con changed too much so IMO it loses much of the charm of what makes an RE game an RE game and 4 in specific...I will stand by tank controls. Again that doesn't mean I think the new ver is bad. Just...different. I AM happy to hear the clunky controls were fixed for Xbox so at least now it's going to be playable for me when I buy it someday.
  13. More like until Disney can't make money off of them anymore. Season is been overall meh. Also even though new movies were announced I forget that many were announced in the past but have gotten canceled. Though the time line given for the new movies begins to concoct a new theory as to why 2 movies are set at the begging and end of the time line...
  14. thankfully I enjoy made from scratch tortillas from my mother...so this is not my problem 🤣
  15. First person adventure game. Always has been. Ya'll need to go back to saying adventure games. Reject modernity embrace Tradition!
