  1. To this day, I can't figure out how they came to think they could do that stuff they rolled back in the first place. So dumb.
  2. He didn't help things much, pissing on people who like it with that "just play the 360 if you can't get online" (I'm paraphrasing) statement. I don't think we'll ever get a behind-the-scenes story on what made them try that shit, but this is pretty good chronicling it:
  3. Hmm. I might finally fuck with Microsoft's game offerings if they put more and more stuff out multi-console. I know it's petty, but I'm still holding that always-on nonsense around E3 2013 against them. I could EASILY buy an xbox and play those games alongside my PS4/5 games, but they missed that boat and now I don't see anything over there worth playing. Exclusives are dry all around now, but it's almost like XBox has none.
  4. His approval is the effect. It's one thing if you have dogshit service like Atlanta and never even had him review you. But I've never heard of someone getting his approval and then fucking it up. Especially over something so trivial. But aside from that:
  5. Yeah, I know about him hitting Atlanta. But the thing is, the real milk and honey are still still around and didn't get reviewed favorably in the first place. But since they're established and it's Atlanta (apparently the whole food scene is kinda trash), they survive. This woman might literally go out of business after winning the game. Like, there was nothing to do but sit back and enjoy the uptick in business. She threw it away for 2K.
  6. So, there's this ex-MMA food blogger named Keith Lee who's blown up over the past year. He goes to unknown places recommended by fans that aren't doing well and rates the food. If he says the food is good, the places blow up and have lines around the block. Aside from just rating, he'll sometimes tip the staff a crazy amount. Well after reviewing Sweetly Seasoned, he gave 4K to the staff as well, to be split. 2K to the owner and the rest split up I don't know how off the top. The owner took it all for herself though, and got found out. As a result, there's no pickup in business like there would be if Keith Lee gave you a good review. In fact, things are going the other way. The above is the owner trying to save face. I came across this whole drama and, just... She might have tanked her business over 2,000 funky ass dollars when she could have been making that shit daily with the increased business. She might literally be the first person to fumble the "Keith Lee effect". How stupid people can be still surprises me to this day.
  7. I am wondering just how in the hell we deal with microtransactions in general. Even the non-lootbox ones pollute any game they're in, because the devs have to make the game more grindy to put more space between you and what you want (unless you pay). With MK, you used to have a clear path to things you want, but now most things are randomized. As much as I'm liking MK1's core gameplay, it's like either micros or laziness have sucked everything out of it outside that. I can't stand that awful Invasions mode, and the online is barebones.
  8. Damn. Landlords try to rob in any way they can. Though, I must say when I lived in an apartment (just last year) my "convenience fee" for online payments was just under 3 bucks.
  9. This is how bad it gets when you don't want to pay people and suck as a client. Trump MIGHT be really going to jail. If he was as rich as he says and even a drop tolerable, GOOD lawyers would line up around the block to represent an ex-president.
  10. Yeah; I popped up Batman: The Animated Series and the first season is 50 or 60 episodes. I thought it was some screwup on HBO Max's account, but maybe not.
  11. I pray that used car does you good. My used car came from a deceased family member and had 65k miles too. But the repairs (not maintenance, repairs) over the years have been at least triple what the car would be worth on Kelley Blue Book. I still like it much better than my old used car, but not being able to dump 10K plus into a "new" used car is maybe the only reason I still have it.
  12. I knew what a Venn was, didn't know how it applied here. BTW, this is my favorite Venn, still:
  13. What's the Venn Diagram? And how did I know that Ben Shapiro rapping would sound like he got AI'ed into the track? He's right there for the video and I refuse to believe it's NOT AI.
  14. It's very early, but how's Tekken 8 to you guys so far? I haven't played Tekken in years. I've been slowly getting back into fighters with MK1.
  15. Unless that's a setting I don't know about, Google maps doesn't show that stuff unless there's a big warning. At most it shows traffic, stalled vehicles, and speed traps. I know when black ice got me years ago, I was going to a place I was using GMaps to get to. No warning about black ice.
  16. This is a dumb question, but how does one google if highways near them are not too icy to travel on? Seems everything I try just gets me weather forecasts and traffic conditions. Thinking about going an hour away from where I live for something, but I want to know if they iced the highway there as good as they did here. Black ice got me once (years ago), and it won't get me again.
  17. I don't know if this is "we broke every emergency glass in the building" activity or they wanted Jon back in the first place. Roy Wood Jr., who corresponded there and wanted the gig, would have been great. I thought he must have been asking for too much, but apparently not if they got Jon back.
  18. This is, to me, the most damning evidence against Flat Earth (not that you need much evidence). You can't base anything off of what they say. If they had validity, they would not only be backed by experiments. You could make new science and principles off of what they say. But still, to this day, it's all about everyone else being wrong. Hell, the one bit of science they did do (that light test in the netflix doc) proves the earth has a curve.
  19. That's another weird aspect: even though they defend and back Dave on his comedy in general, they imply she died for other reasons. This article has this quote from her sister: https://www.thedailybeast.com/dave-chappelle-backed-by-family-of-late-transgender-comedian-daphne-dorman-from-the-closer But I'm still focused on the online mob being fake. It's 100% possible Chappelle just thought there was an online mob bullying her when there wasn't. I don't know how he'd think that if there are no posts suggesting that; maybe secondhand info from his team. But if he knew from the start there was no online mob, implying they bullied her to suicide is some shady shit.
  20. https://michaelhobbes.substack.com/p/dave-chappelles-some-of-my-best-friends I'm double posting, but I found this and it pissed me off a bit. It's a VERY long article, so, here's the TLDR: -Daphne Dorman was a transgender comedian whose story was told by Dave Chappelle at the end of The Closer. Chappelle claims that when Sticks and Stones came out, Daphne defended him against other transgender people, was dragged for days, and killed herself. He doesn't straight-up say they killed her, but it's heavily implied by the context. -The article proves, with receipts, that there was no dragging of Daphne by her transgender peers around that time. She killed herself for a variety of different reasons (custody battle, job loss, etc), but there was never a twitter mob piling on to her. I... don't know. I heard before Daphne had other problems besides a twitter mob, but I somehow assumed that there was a mob still. That there wasn't makes me look at The Closer even worse than I already did. The Daphne story is almost the sole highlight from it, and now I'm wondering if Dave knew the truth when he implicitly said her community killed her. It's possible he didn't, but if he did, that takes away a bit of my overall respect for him. I still see him as a GOAT, but this is low.
  21. They're trying to live too far above their means, OR they have a drug habit. Or multiple baby-mommas. There's no way you're struggling as a single human being earning 600K a year. Even after taxes that has to be, bare minimum, 20K a month. I live very comfortably with all my bills paid and PLENTY left over at like 4.5K a month post-tax.
  22. It'd be funny if black wasn't really Zata, but just a new Zata-level dummy, reincarnated like old-school Kenny from South Park.
