  4. I just need to remind you of Blazblue's outrageous tutorials. As a story goon, who actually likes a lot of those characters, I damn near dropped the whole game over that bullshit. Just let that sink in. I think ArcSys trying to trim the fat may not be a bad thing at all, but I haven't seen the Beta Tutorial. I think a lot of it could be streamlined by having the button explanations disguised as a button check. Something like "Before we begin, let's just make sure everything is set up properly, let's do a quick run down of your buttons." And then having a quick check for all basic moves like moving, jumping and all simple buttons before they move on to the actual explanations. Because honestly, it feels insulting when I have fucking movement tutorials in FGs telling me extremely basic shit like how to move forwards or backwards. Skullgirls at least had the decency of tying the jump tutorial to avoiding projectiles.

  7. SNK is silly. Honestly, super motions, and motions in general ain't rocket science. Just try your best to avoid overlaps. That's about it. Capcom would do just fine with 632146 motions for supers for a lot of characters. Meanwhile we got G having dumb overlap for 0 reason.
  8. Oh, so that's why it was weird to do it in +R! Honestly, HCF motions should be saved for supers or command grabs.
  9. Anime crew know that name as well y'know... Good times. It's always nice to be able to identify certain players by just the color and a couple seconds of gameplay.
  10. Ironically, out of all games, Pokรฉmon got that nonsense right. When you got too many models and animations to work on, you make sure the common effects look great. SNK made sure the priority was the models, and whenever we see whatever the hell that fire is, the game doesn't look good at all. Ladies and gentlement, we have just seen Cipher give props to SFV. ๐Ÿคฏ I agree with him tho, I can give SFV props for trying to do its own thing, but it really, really needs work. The huge hands and feet just aren't necessary tbh. The hair is also pretty rough across the board. Precisely. Tekken is ruling the hyperrealistic style with an iron fist. ArcSys' artstyle earned them not only damn near universal respect, but a partnership with Bamco for a DBZ game. Just because Xrd looked that damn good. Strive went even further beyond by not really emulating sprite animation, so it got that real 3D flow to match how excellent the artstyle looks. Capcom lost the biggest niches it could've gotten in terms of artstyle and it's still trying to find itself. TvC is definitely one of the best-looking FGs they got in the 3D era tho, but then again... can't run with that look with Strive out there.
  11. Weird. I actually liked 14 more, I didn't like the drive system of 13 at all. 15 apparently fixed my biggest gripe with 14, namely how it locks EX moves behind Max Mode.
  12. Teams are only relevant for story and character selection screen purposes. You can build your own team. The game runs on a 3v3 structure, but there's no tagging or assists, basically, rounds are 1v1. Health regens after each round by a slight amount depending on the round time left, meter carries out between rounds and you set your team order right before the match.
  13. The only people really hype about Rose here are Yiceman who's been waiting for Rose for a while and is a real Rose fan, Twin, who haven't recognized Rose ain't a blonde, and people who still play SFV.

  15. That's awesome! Congratulations! Did you really give up like that? Bro, you can't do this, ever. If anything, you should've gone above and beyond and shown a desire to learn. I literally landed a graphics design job with my only experience on the subject being MS Paint Shitposts because my old boss recognized I had potential and willingness to learn.
  16. If anything, Hyperfight is the best practice for Strive because of the damage. Nago's Blood Rage super might as well be an IK anyway. ๐Ÿคฃ Also, Pertho forgot the biggest draw of Strive rn. No, not the Rollback. Giovanna's Tiddies.

  19. Stop whining, even when I had the chance to lab this morning, I had to deal with extra work stuff. Stacking paper is always good tho, I'm good enough to get back-to-back perfects on unsuspecting victims anyway so I don't need to practice. Perth and Tubb learned the hard way that you can't challenge a Brazilian with a DP on lag. ๐Ÿ‘€ Btw, @Mattatsuyou joining us tonight? For a kusoge, Hyperfight is really fun.

  22. Tbh, and of course I know that's not a good standard... It was better than SFV. ๐Ÿคฃ For real tho, noticeable lag spikes every once in a while, but the game isn't so execution-intensive so the fewer inputs make it very much playable. Not to mention the obvious, that game is free and smaller than a DS game, y'all gotta try it out.
