  1. I got the head of BGG confused with the woman working on the Black Panther game, so that's my mistake. But, if you go to the BGG site, there's no white or Asian people in their group shots. Maybe they hire them and don't admit to it, but I'd be hard pressed to believe if a white or asian person walked in trying to get hired that they'd hire them. Sounds like it's the typical "'diversity' just means 'more people like us'" thing
  2. I think they do it that way because of how much people complained about getting stomped in Undead Burg in DS1. They nerfed it pretty hard in DS2 to where the invader couldn't heal at all and in 3 where they can just resummon phantoms over and over, so comparatively I guess it could be worse. But invasions are a fairly unpopular mechanic among the pve crowd these days. I don't know if you saw how positively apoplectic people got about invasions when Elden Ring came out but I've never seen a saltier more angry and entitled group of gamers. A lot of stuff to the effect of "I paid for this game, my friend and I want to coop and these try hards are ruining our game" type stuff. Someone even made a mod for PC that would shut off invasions altogether it got so bad.
  3. A lot of times they don't because the cops know that if they arrest the person, they'll just be back out in a few hours and the cop will have extra paperwork to do. So they just look the other way and city gets worse little by little.
  4. You act as if the woman at the head of this isn't already on record saying that she doesn't hire whites and that we don't have labor and discrimination laws on the books that were put in place to protect people like her in the first place.
  5. Fans have been demanding a PC port and remaster of Bloodborne for ages and it still hasn't happened, meanwhile while DS has been ported everywhere. The thing that sets Bloodborne apart other than the combat, is that the setting is unique. I don't generally go a big rubbery one for fantasy settings, so the souls series isn't as compelling to me. Similarly, I find Sekiro 's setting a lot more interesting than Souls. Youre not considering the fact that there are 3 Souls games vs only one Bloodborne game, so the playerbase is going to be concentrated for Bloodborne. And while I understand what you're saying RE the "love for it being birthed by comparison," there's really only one game like that and it is Bloodborne whereas there are plenty of games with settings and vibes like DS. So really there's not much to compare Bloodborne TO. Like, yeah, in a spiritual sense it makes sense to group DS and Bloodborne together, but outside of the fact that they're made by the same company and that DS3's combat is built off BB's, they couldn't be more different. RE Sekiro prequel, I guess we'd have to agree to disagree. I remember people saying that they'd love a Castlevania game based on the 1999 war (a significant event in the series' canon) or a Bloodborne prequel based on the events of Loran, but there isn't enough meat to those events that I think they'd make compelling games on their own. Similarly, I don't think Tomoe training Genechiro or helping sever Takeru's immortality is enough to warrant more than a DLC. Part of what makes those events interesting is that there's enough bones there to give you an idea of what happened but not so much that you can't draw your own conclusions about them, which imo is the strength of Miyazaki's brand of storytelling.
  6. The thing with invasions is that you won't be invaded unless you're co-opping which already puts you at a massive advantage over the invader because it's going to be at least 2 on 1 and the invader takes a haircut on his health. As someone who does a lot of invading, even with the gems I got from dungeon diving, if I run into a gank squad of two, nevermind 3, I'm already going to be disadvantaged quite a lot. So if anybody needs gems, it's the INVADER. I can understand that not everyone wants to have to go through all that to build character (although ill confess to enjoying the process) and that's probably why Bloodborne doesn't have the pvp playerbase ds3 has despite having better combat overall. But again, the complaints about dungeons and gems really only apply to pvp and most players who play this game are pve players so they aren't going to notice the issues because they aren't affected by them. I agree that 30fps kind of sucks and that to some extent that the dungeons can get samey, but again, those are issues I'd love to see fleshed out a bit better in a remaster.
  7. On top of what @BB_Hoody said, bail "reform" is why dude got back out and was free to do this.
  8. You could say that about any game though since no game is perfect. What faults and issues? Chalice Dungeons and blood gems aren't bad in and of themselves, but I think the necessity of having to grind for gems if you want to duel or have an effective invasion build keeps more people from wanting to do it, although I actually kind of enjoyed scouring the sheets of glyphs to find the right gems but that's just me. But outside of pvp (or trying to plat the game in the case of the dungeons) both of those things are entirely optional and you can get through the pve portion of the game without touching them.
  9. I'll be VERY surprised if he even serves 5 years but hopefully 🤞 Still, it's kind of shitty to think that if he had only made off with a bunch of plebs' money, nobody would have cared and he'd have gotten a slap on the wrist if anything at All.
  10. Overrated how? A remake, no, but a remaster absolutely. 60fps, upscale it, maybe even flesh out the Chalice Dungeons a bit more and I'd be happy. It's a Sony IP though so the ball is in their court when it comes to any of this. A Sekiro prequel doesn't seem like the right idea imo, but if we use the Return ending as the canon ending, then I guess Wolf and divine child's trip to find thr birthplace of thr divine dragon could be something.
  11. I had no idea the laundry list of stuff Diddy is allegedly responsible for including putting a hit out on Tupac. Dude is going to die in prison if this goes to trial.
  12. Just a PSA for any of the Bloodborne bros here, Return To Yharnam is this week so there will be a lot more people playing, so more chances for co-op, duels, etc.
  13. I see all these video games adaptations as basically the next step behind rebooting a bunch of old IPs as they're something people are already familiar with that has a built in fan base because another entity has done a lot of the hard work of establishing it. So there's less risk to adapting it. In a lot of cases, I don't think they care that it's an existing IP with its own lore and characters, they just need to get eyeballs on the screen and are hedging their bets.
  14. She, like a lot of people these days I guess, probably doesn't remember a lot of what Clinton got up to in that respect and just the sheer number of women that accused him of rape or harassment. So yeah, it should have been a layup, but for some reason she didn't take it.
  15. All she had to say was, "Gee I don't know George, why don't you tell me considering you spent 4+ years working for a guy who has had loads (lol) of rape and sexual harassment accusations against him from his college days all the way up past his time in the White House. And that's not even counting his escapades on Epstein's island." Talk about no self awareness on Stephanopoulos' part especially considering he worked on Clinton's '92 campaign, and considering how much vetting goes on, there's zero chance he didn't know how much of a scumbag Clinton was in this department before he helped get him elected. And what she said about E. Jean Carroll was fair. A rape victim bragging about what they're going to spend their settlement money on is low class and gives detractors ammunition to make other victims look bad. Carroll is absolutely insane though so I guess her saying that tracks.
  16. This might be an unpopular opinion, but: If you leave your AirDrop on all the time, especially out in public places where a lot of people are gathered, you deserve to get hit with dick pics. Especially since you have to hit Accept for the file to come through and why would you do that when a stranger is sending you something in that situation?
  17. All I've seen is the preview and from what I could tell it was not what you said which actually could be a funny movie or done right. I'll check out that video though
  18. I've seen a few previews for that movie on TV. They're just greenlighting anything now
  19. Using Hattori's Katana with that skin gives it some extra juice, so be sure to try it! I love that they included that skin because I love Katana Zero so much. When you beat the game using that skin, it says "Yes, that should work" like it does when you beat a section of KZ. When I first saw that, it almost made me a little lol
  20. I've been thinking about this game lately, thought about giving it another shot. I actually was in a GameStop yesterday that had some used PS3 games but alas no LoS2, although I think I still have the pirated copy of the PC version I played years ago so maybe I'll just go that route. She should be fired; if she was white she would have been gone a long time ago. It's a shame that this is going to be attached to that Black Panther game regardless of how good it is. All the work those people under her are doing on the game will be for naught unless people memory hole this. And denying that you can be racist to white people is either a racist covering for their own racism and/or a way of tacitly saying that non-whites have no agency or power, which ignores reality (as well as the definition of "racism" the people who say that type of thing use.) So in a backhanded way, it's actually racist toward non-whites as well.
  21. Indeed. Imo anyone down in their feelings about this is worried deep down that they've wasted a lot of time playing games. That said, I don't think the two things need to be mutually exclusive. I got an NES at however old you are in 5th grade and spent a ton of time on it, as well as the SNES before selling the Snes to buy my first guitar at 16. My musical skills have only continued to get better despite that I play probably 2 hours of games a day on average. Anyone who really and genuinely cares about something like music will prioritize it, and if it isn't that big of a thing to them, they won't. I think video games do tend to have a drug like effect for some people, but just like drugs and alcohol, not everyone who uses them is going to get addicted. Edit: And this is even before we talk about how game music even back in the 8 bit days has always been really inventive. Listening to the SMB3 soundtrack, it's honest to God amazing what they were able to do with a measley 3 audio channels. Whoever did those arrangements is fucking brilliant because there is A LOT going on there.
  22. After playing USF2 for a couple weeks, I'm at a point where I'm smoking more of the beginner players but getting smoked by the better cats. I feel like I'm in no man's land right now lol
