  1. I think that dude knows this deep down and that's why he's so salty and aggressive about it. Someone who was secure in knowing that they are what they say they are wouldn't be going out of his way to antagonize people about it like he is.
  2. The thing is, people using AI software and prompts to make pictures or videos aren't artists because they themselves aren't going through the artistic process. Part of that process involves improving skills so that there's less of a gulf between the mental picture you have of the piece you want to make and what your skills will allow for you to create. Jimi Hendrix used to talk about how frustrated he'd get that the songs he recorded didn't match how he heard them in his mind. At best, these AI "creators" are doing the equivalent of putting paint on a pallette for the real artist to use because in this case, the software is the artist, not the person feeding it prompts. Which isn't to say that AI art isn't art, just that the human in the equation isn't the artist.
  3. The problem is that rightoids are the only ones willing to call stuff like this out. Why is non conservative media NOT sounding the alarm about something like this that will only cause an even bigger achievement gap between different groups if it isn't course corrected for?
  4. "Plug the controller into the back of your PC" 😂😂😂
  5. I think they're going to have to legislate that watermarks be somehow included in every pic or video made with AI. But of course if a government or company uses it they'll probably find some way around that. I was reading a Twitter thread about this that Marques Brownlee made and there were people who were talking about how misinformation might become a problem when this tech gets out, but that they were super excited about the proliferation of AI, which seem like incompatible views to have to me. It's like being pro life and people death penalty at the same time. All I know is that unless something is done before this tech is widespread, you won't even be able to believe your own eyes anymore and it'll be exhausting trying to figure out what's AI snd what isn't, and that itself will become another thing people will fight about.
  6. I haven't played the CC remake but the original it seemed the whole point was fleshing out Cloud a bit more, showing his origins, and what his motivations are for doing what he does in FF7. In that regard I think it was pretty successful. I think they probably erred towards not biting off more than they could chew story wise, but I agree that what you said would have been an interesting addition to the game. Hell, I don't really even like RPGs but crisis core made me care enough about the characters that I actually played through FF7 after I finished it.
  7. I like how the mom says she got rid of her vinyl and wound up just buying a lot of that music again. She learned her lesson the first time, but some teenager who hasn't ever owned physical media won't get that lesson until it's too late. I love Spotify, but I've run into situations where a song I want to hear has some sort of licensing issue so it's unavailable even if the rest of the record is. So I'm with the mom, I decided to keep all my CDs as well and have even bought quite a bit of vinyl lately.
  8. It been popular longer than 20 years, I had classmates growing up named Tyrone. And since the Badu song isn't exactly complimentary I'd be surprised if that was why it got popular unless you got a bunch of women out there trying to boy-named-sue their sons lol
  9. Maybe it's just the channels I've been watching because my mum in law has them on, but there are a fuckton of drug commercials on TV and they all have these gross jingles or musical production numbers. And you can't get any of them without going to a doctor lol
  10. My mum in law is from there and she was telling me just yesterday that Mobile has a pretty off the hook celebration which was news to me. Few people have the setup to really be able to take advantage of Atmos so I don't understand keeping that behind a paywall. Can't say the same for Dolby Vision, whatever that is, but this is just Amazon being amazon.
  11. I half expect you to be some kind of former government agent 😂
  12. Every time I read one of your posts that says stuff like this I'm like
  13. The shotgun feels so good to use in that game, in a way it never did in any of the other games imo. To my mind, if you added some more weapons and maybe updated the combat a little, it would be the perfect DMC game, and truthfully, the combat is pretty robust considering how old a game it is.
  14. I thought the smaller buttons were weird at first because I was so used to the Sanwa buttons on my HRAP3SA, but now I love them as I usually play an SNK style 4-across layout and I don't have to stretchy hand at all to be able to keep a finger on each button. Unless you have really big hands, I highly recommend the smaller buttons.
  15. All I asked was for you to qualify your complaint that Tucker was picked because he's incompetent by offering up the name of someone YOU think is a competent enough journalist for the interview and all I've gotten is a bunch of dodges and hand-wringing which tells me that you don't really think anyone is any better than Tucker. And if that's the case, then why does it matter who does the interview?
  16. Did you watch the interview? Seriously though, who do you think is a competent enough journalist to interview Putin? If you were in charge of setting it up, who would you pick for the job? I think it's a good thing too, but too few of them are willing to push back against the powers that be in a meaningful way for fear of losing access. It went from being a calling that would hold powerful people's feet to the fire to being a way for upper middle class Ivy grads to suck up to powerful people.
  17. How many "competent journalists" do we actually have anymore? I can count maybe a handful and few if any of them are in the good graces of the establishment. Who would you have picked to do it?
  18. I think it's a show of good faith being willing to meet him on his home turf. It's why I supported the idea of Trump going to North Korea to try to have some talks with Kim Jong Un.
  19. You laugh, but how many American media figures actually took the initiative to try to talk to Putin and get his take on why he's doing what he's doing rather than just going along with the "Lol Putler" narrative? I haven't watched the interview yet so maybe he lives up to the narrative but at least getting to hear it from the horse's mouth lets us know for sure, especially since it's probably going to cost us untold billions for the proxy wars we'll inevitably fight against him because the political class needs an enemy.
  20. I've been playing the old Shinobi games lately and I love them but they're a bit clunky especially whwre the platforming is concerned and how weird the double jump timing is. Kind of makes me understand better why newer Castlevania players find the older CV games clunky. That said, I'm REALLY hoping the upcoming Shinobi feels like SoR4 does in comparison to the older games. Would be really nice to see this series back on the map with solid game that combines the best of old and new schools.
  21. Maybe I missed this but, there's a "black national anthem?" 🤔
  22. The damage to Disney's rep as a company that fulfills the expectation of quality every time around is, I would argue, the more damaging ramification. They're headed for Konami territory if they keep on the way they have been.
