  1. So the update added a win streak bonus for those below Diamond. Acquiring League Points - A win-streak bonus has been added to Ranked Matches, allowing players to reach ranks better suited to their skill level faster. For leagues from Rookie to Ultra Platinum, winning 6 or more matches in a row increases the number of League Points (LP) you earn. Continuing to increase your win streak after 6 matches will slowly increase your LP rate. Once you reach 15 wins in a row, the rate will remain fixed. If your win streak ends or you reach the Diamond rank, your LP rate will return to normal. - This change does not apply to the Diamond League or higher. - The losing player's LP rate is not affected. - If your opponent disconnects from a match, your win streak will not be reset. - If you disconnect from a match, your win streak will be reset. https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/systemfault/133091?lang=en That's pretty cool.
  2. I like the costume. Nothing spectacular and the lack of hair change is wack, but whatever.
  3. You and me both, breh. Self-doubt is the biggest btch I've ever dealt with and it sucks looking back on it. Sometimes it'll still appear, but not as much anymore. Shyt is trash. On another note, servers going down around 8. Ready for that Blair costume.
  4. I'm on that Blair costume. Wonder what the code will do?
  5. I was pretty disappointed with X's implementation. Some of his stuff is alright, but I feel like they should've went all-out with his moveset like they did with Dante. It was pretty lame how X had to be stationary when charging the Buster while Zero could move around. That was so ass backwards...
  6. Not sure if this was posted, but Capcom is currently looking for a Fighting Game Battle Planner: http://chigesoku3.doorblog.jp/archives/57382824.html Capcom is hiring for fighting game development. As a condition for applying for a battle planner, one of the items that one of the required experiences is " experience of participating in a fighting game tournament and having achieved excellent results ". In the past, top players sometimes got a job at a game maker and became developers, but nowadays there are many players who aim to become professionals, so is there a shortage of developers from proven players? It would be a rare attempt for a major company like Capcom to place a job with the top players in the game as the application conditions. Although it is a condition that the educational background is university graduation or higher, it may be a great opportunity to work as a full-time employee listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange for those who have won the tournament or won the top prize. Next-gen Capcom fighting game, baybee! Wonder what fighting game it's for?
  7. Was reading through the Twitter thread that has Katsuya Akitomo (former Capcom artist) giving the origins of the Vs series. Very interesting things here. If you have the time, give it a read. Also this in particular: I remember reading this issue some time back. I had no idea some of Doom's attacks were lifted straight from this battle: He used it against Iron Man as well: Even Doom's Marvel Super Heroes artwork is from the end of ASM #349. It's always nice reading about the work that went into these characters that we all know and love today.
  8. In retrospect, it really was terrible. I think what I liked most about it was the fact that it had a Story Mode and pseudo fatalities (I believe they were called Overkills) in it. I was pretty bad at the Double Dragon games, so I didn't have a fond memory of the series as a whole back then. But yeah, just about every Double Dragon fan I know would rather pretend that game never existed. I became a much more avid fan of the Double Dragon in the later yrs. Double Dragon 3 was still piss hard for no apparent reason tho. I salute any normal human that was able to complete that game. I just came across a tweet from a Capcom artist from the 90's that talked about Capcom being approached by DC to make a fighting game: Funny how I literally was just playing the Justice League fighting game. Now I'm just imagining how the DC characters would've been designed in a Capcom fighting game.
  9. I've been playing a lot of older fighting games from the SNES/Genesis/NES over the past couple. A few: What I found interesting about the above games is that they all had the six-button layout. The Street Fighter layout was the way to go back in the day. A few other games (TMNT Tournament Fighters SNES version) went with the four-button layout. I like playing and analyzing the games from back then.
  10. I think what you said at the end is what it comes down to. I've played this game for yrs, so this feeling is normal. Starting to notice this with certain streamers as well. It's the burn-out. On another note, looks like Avengers did pretty bad: When I saw the huge drop in the player base, I already knew what was up.
  11. Most likely what it is. Part of me still wants Capcom to release another league for a new goal, but I don't think it matters at this point. Maybe things will change once Dan is released.
  12. Playing SFV has been much more draining lately for some reason. I think it's because I'm mostly playing this game outta habit at this point.
  13. I am tired of running into Seth. Mash out jab into a combo that leads into a whole corner carry. Go to punish his whiffed dive kick and he can still block in time. Shyt is so dumb.
  14. I was thinking about Injustice 2 earlier. I really wish I could've gotten into that game. The idea of being able to use DC characters in a fighting game has always been a great idea to me. The content is on point. I just couldn't get into the battle system no matter how hard I tried. Sometimes I wonder how characters like Superman and Batman would be designed by Capcom or ASW.
  15. SFV has a lot cool stages. Wish the optimization on PS4 was better. The Grid is extra dull.
  16. VS1 seems to be the general default since VS2 is terrible.
  17. So I was bored and turned on MVCI to play around for a bit. Man, Sigma is such a well-designed character in this game. I really hope he makes a return in some form, because he really was one of the bright spots about this game. I feel like they nailed him about as perfectly as they could. Most of the VA work is atrocious, but you could tell he was really into the Sigma role. His implementation was much better than X's imo.
  18. I remember people were acting like Seth really struggled in neutral. I fought a good amount of them and he is a nightmare at times. Seth reminds me of S3 Cammy. Everyone had a pocket Cammy back then. Now everyone has a pocket Seth. Most of the players that moved to PC are playing Seth. The only thing that'll make people drop him are nerfs. I still find it funny how my S3 Cammy was nowhere near as good as my S4 Cammy. Everyone all but dropped her like a hot potato even though she wasn't gutted like many wanted to believe.
  19. Most Zeku players think he bodies Cammy without question. Not a Zeku player, so I have no opinion. Likely just comes down to opinion. Even when I play Karin, I'd rather fight Cammy than fight Seth. I legit feel Seth is far more irritating to fight than the majority of the roster.
  20. I've never played a SF game in my life where so many DPs just so happen to whiff. It's ridiculous.
  21. When I start mashing to accept a match via Fight Request and see the 1 bar flash as I'm doing it:
  22. They're back on this stupid looting shyt after a dude was shot and killed by the cops. I legit hate the amount of trash ass fcks that feel comfortable destroying any and everything. These people aren't "protesting". This is all a huge joke. Now a lot of businesses are having to shut down outta fear. It is truly some demented people walking amongst us out here. We were just getting over the previous looting shyt, but now we have to deal with this crap again. I'm tired of it.
  23. I'm not getting on tonight. I'll try the next time you have a lobby night.
  24. I main Cammy/Karin as of right now. Actually looking forward to seeing how Rose will translate in SFV.
