Like I said I've never seen a single cheater on console. When I played counterstrike on PC there were tons of hackers. It's definitely more of a problem in FPS games but they still pop up in fighters once in awhile. I'd like to see Capcom/ASW just flat out banning people and that would hopefully scare away anyone from trying it.

It's a lot less likely to happen on console. In fact in all the years I've been playing fighting games, I've never once encountered a cheater.

I know the ship has probably sailed - but I think you would like GBVS. The game is all about converting off far pokes into big damage and AA's can potentially do 50%. There's projectile heavy zoners. Also, once you hit the corner the combos can get kind of crazy.

So why don't you like Melty blood type lumina then? It seems like every anime player's wet dream.

It's unfortunate that KOF had been overshadowed by SF in the west. Although they share some similarities they really don't play the same at all. The 3vs3 plus the way the neutral works with running, hop and hyper hop KOF is something truly unique and special. I'm hoping XV makes a splash this time similar to Strive.

That's true but a lot of FG's have similar characters playing the same way with one inevitably being weaker. That's just the way a lot of fighting games work unfortunately. It's hard to make a game with 40+ truly unique characters. At the end of the day, why not just put them in the tier list somewhere? I think it's a disservice especially when Gief and Necalli are stronger than half the cast. I understand there are better picks for those character archetypes - but I would have liked to have seen Punk's placement of them nonetheless.

I've never seen anyone place Alex, Dhalsim and Ken that high. I could maybe see an argument for Sim, but the other two have had 0 notable results this year (and pretty much ever). And he put some characters in "pointless" that are actually pretty good like Gief and Necalli.

So if you already own the PS4 version there's no point of the free "upgrade" to the PS5 version? Who would have thunk it.

Are there any reports of the input lag reduction after the latest patch? Curious if PS5 is similar to PC now.

Yeah, VT2 is really under explored. It was written off in favour of VT1 way too quickly. VT1 is more of a one and done and the damage often isn't that much unless you have the opponent cornered. I don't think people are factoring in the utility of having consistent safe pressure after activation with VT2.

I mean, I've fought Punk, Idom, Shine, etc and I'm nowhere near as good as them. Anyone can get to diamond if they put in the time and effort. If you're arguing for everyone to have access to these players my question is......do you really want that? Newer players will get stomped and it will likely be a waste of time for both parties. It's best to fight people around your skill level so you can gradually level up.

I'd rather have a large community and the ability to play the top dogs. That's currently how SFV works assuming you're able to climb the ranks. I've fought a lot of the best players in North America just by making diamond and turning on ranked mode.

Servers are down and yet no word at all from Capcom about maintenance or anything.

I do that with Karin's shoulder from time to time because it catches the opponent off guard and it's safe even if blocked. Akira's elbow is -4 though so that seems like a bad gamble to take. Might as well just go for a jump in.

Finally got to see the UI - looks pretty dope. @EvilCanadiangot the vid out already.

After messing around with Akira she kind of seems like a cross between Lucia and Sakura. People are comparing her to Karin but I don't really see it as much. She's got Lucia's stubby buttons and mixup potential and Sakura's walkspeed and cr.mk. To me she seems more of a rushdown than a footsie character? Her st.roundhouse is about the only button with range. Oro is a weird character. He doesn't seem like he's doing anything and yet he somehow erases life bars. His buttons are REALLY good and he does a lot of damage plus has great vtriggers. He might be difficult to play but imo he's looking like he has potential.

I tend to agree with you especially since other sports leagues have banned it for a reason. Its been known to increase focus and probably reaction time as well. The whole prescription thing can be easily overcome if the person wants it enough. I know in the UFC many fighters were getting prescriptions for TRT and it wasn't hard for them at all to do so until it was banned.
