  1. I don't think zoners having good offensive options is a bad thing. Guile, Menat, Poison and Sim all have good offensive options but (depending on the matchup) are usually playing keepaway for most of the round. They might at some point activate V-trigger and go in. That back and forth to me is much more fun to watch than a character that is only throwing fireballs and uppercutting and doing nothing else for the entire match. At the same time, I've literally seen Wong and Infiltration win with Menat doing nothing but st.HP, st.MP and cr.HP. I don't see how SF3 and SF4 were any different. And I can pretty much guarantee people will be complaining about the same thing in SF6 because Capcom is never going to make a game with ST style zoning again.
  2. There was a cash prize involved and apparently he was on discord trying to get his friends who were a lot better than beginners to enter the tournament. That's why I'm curious to hear his defense.
  3. Apparently Infiltration was accused of rigging a beginner tournament in Korea. I'm assuming this is his response. Anyone speak Korean lol?
  4. It's funny people were complaining about no zoning in SF4 too because of focus attack. And no zoning in 3rd Strike because of parry. This zoning argument comes up in every new SF iteration. I'm not really seeing it in V. The game is aggressive for sure but Poison, Menat and Guile have all been top tier or near top tier every season. Sim has been underrated throughout and has been a viable option. If all the zoners in the game sucked then maybe there would be a valid argument there. There is definitely zoning in this game - but it seems people are just missing ST or something? Those days of turtling up and chucking 10 thousand fireballs the entire round are most likely gone.
  5. I'll take shitty rollback over whatever it is SNK has been using for years. Even if it's just SFV level rollback. I love SNK games - I just want one to actually be playable online for once.
  6. I think there was a big difference between old SRK (pre SF4) and the current SRK. The old days seemed to be a lot more toxic and unwelcoming. I joined around the time SF4 arrived so a lot of the elitist stuff was dying down and people just wanted to help each other out. The character sections/matchup stuff was amazing. I feel like SF4 era from 2009 - 2015 was definitely the golden era of SRK.
  7. This made me chuckle. Aris talking how Evo will no longer be "grassroots".
  8. I'm going to reserve judgement until I've seen the tournament. I can handle a bit of esports but I still would like some of that grassroots feel that EVO has always been about. If it turns into another cringefest like E-League, I'm out.
  9. Old news bruh. Cipher already posted that to bolster his PC master race argument.
  10. Just got hit with the Dan infinite. So for those of you who're on twitter - keep an eye out for me.
  11. The other character is supposed to be Baiken. I'm not one for guest characters but if they're going to do one, she seems like a good choice.
  12. That's true, they're only slightly better than the DBFZ trailers. That said, the Meitenkun, Iori, Kyo and Chizuru are the standouts for me.
  13. I'm in the same boat. It's a day one purchase for me especially now that they basically confirmed rollback netcode. Just wish they made some bold decisions with the game. Some characters look and play way too much like their XIV predecessor.
  14. Man I don't know what to think about KOF XV. The trailers seem all over the place. I feel like certain characters look and animate much better than others. There's definitely a lack of consistency but I suppose that's to be expected with a game that will probably include 50+ characters.
  15. Yeah definitely some overlap. A LOT of people play FF7 remake. If I were ArcSys I wouldn't want to be competing with SE on this.
  16. Max and I have the same problem. I was fine with the game getting delayed but the new release date is now the same as FF7 Remake Yuffie episode. Now I'll have no idea what to play. And how much you wanna bet Capcom releases Oro shortly after/on the same date. I can guarantee they pull some shit like that.
  17. Basing conclusions on a stream chat vote means nothing. Jiyuna said himself he plays mostly on console lol. Cipher should be channeling his energy into getting crossplay, not worrying about platform wars.
  18. I agree with you. I've never minded fighting Abigail in SFV or Sim, Poison, Guile, Menat but I find people are constantly complaining about them. Also, zoners and grapplers are really fun to watch in tournament play especially when they go up against one another.
  19. Menu's would be the safe route, I have no problem with that either. I think the avatar / arcade system is fun, it adds a bit of personality to the game. It seemed to be what arcsys was trying to go for with the Strive lobbies. I just don't understand why they felt the need to overhaul the old system and make it worse.....
  20. Strive getting pushed to June is a good thing since the lobbies were a travesty. They already had one of the coolest lobby systems out there. Bring back the cute little avatars and the arcade machines. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  21. Wow Andy looks so much better than XIV. I think it's the most improved character model so far.
  22. I asked Nemo during his stream whether he was going to play Strive and he said no because of Potemkin 🤣
  23. That's my take on it too. Didn't Fighting EX layer with it's non-existent budget manage to implement decent rollback? Them's Fighting Herds did it as well. SNK probably should be able to pull it off if these indie fighting games are doing it.
