OK so it is painfully obvious by now that Age of Calamity

I cannot believe the number of albums from the Pixel Mixers, one of my favorite video game cover groups, I missed out in 2020. I especially can't believe I missed this one. Sunrise and Moonfall - A Zelda Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask Tribute Album One of their biggest projects as it covers two games. I've heard the first few arrangements from OOT and I'm very impressed. The album, like most Pixel Mixers projects, is free to download. Catch This! Those birds I mentioned in Cyber-Shadow? I was right to be weary of them. If they miss on a swoop, they double back! Those suckers got dat NES Ninja Gaiden DNA programmed into them! I stay ready whenever I see a bird in this game. Played the demo for Balan Wonderworld. I thought the names attached looked familiar. Yuji Naka and Naoto Oshima. Those are two of Sonic's daddy's. The game is interesting and I got a NiGHTS vibe from it. I didn't love the demo but I didn't hate it either. Feels like a game I need to get more time with to make a decisive call on it. Regardless, I do want to see how the full game pans out so I may end up buying it. SHMUP fans, we got it guuuuuudaaa. G-MODE Archives ZANAC, Project StarshipX and Arcade Archives Halley Wars are all up on the eShop (I know two of these are on other platforms but the Switch is my system of choice when SHMUPs hit it).

Balan Wonderworld looks really interesting. Psyched to try out the demo. Game reminds me of the heavy experimental period Square had in the PlayStation days. If I dig the demo, this sucker is getting bought Day Juan.

I forgot Cyber-Shadow dropped on Tuesday. Finally got around to playing it. Soundtrack is already lit. I get that some people are sick of the 8-bit visuals but they they look really freaking good. First level has some birds as enemies. Man, just seeing those suckers triggers some horrible NES Ninja Gaiden Flashbacks.

Sourcy hit 100K subscribers. Also his animated Smash Ultimate victory screens have gotten attention from the VG press. This vid includes some of his previous Sephy victory screens with some new ones.

Update on my dad's Breath of the Wild progress. He wanted to find Hetsu because had a ton of Korok seeds so I told him where to go. Figured I'd let him find out the Master Sword was there on his own. But he doesn't have enough hearts to yank that sucker out. He's been getting those stamina upgrades. Meanwhile in Age of Calamity, ZELDA's POWER HAS AWOKEN!!! Girl just went to one of my least used characters to one of my mains! Ooooo I want this Zelda for Smash!

With SaGa Frontier Remastered being a thing, I'm hoping we get more remasters from Square Enix. Can a brother get an Einhander remaster? I still have my PS1 copy but I wanna play that game on my Switch!

A few nights ago I started Chapter 5 of Age of Calamity. TLDR:

Don't know about other platforms but on the eShop, Cyber-Shadow is on sale for $14.99 and you can preorder it at that price until Jan 25th. Game looks freaking dope and I can't wait to play it.

Update on my dad's progress in Breath of the Wild. When he sees Guardains (stalkers) But Lynels Also, he's found Robbie and upgraded the runes for the Shieka Slate. He's got some 85 plus hours in the game and loving it.

Those of you that have Mortal Kombat 11 on Switch, how does it run? I've been considering picking up the game for that system since most of my gaming is on my Switch these days. Buuuuut I know there is not Komplete Edition (or whatever the name that has all the kontent for it is called) for the Switch version. Mofos stay not wanting to go higher than 32GB cards for their Switch games, Space Invaders Forever is all kinds of fun. It is worth it for Space Invaders Extreme alone. That game is such a good take on the Space Indavers formula. Since it is a Taito game, we got godlike ZUNTATA music! And your shoots actually help create music. So dang cool.

I bought Space Invaders Forever last week. Finally got around to playing it and it turns out the three games on the cart are viewed as two separate games. Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is it's own game while Space Invaders Extreme and Space Invaders Gigamax 4SE are Space Invaders Forever. Weird. Unknowingly, I fired up Arkanoid vs Space Invaders first and plays in TATE and uses touch controls. I was a miffed at first but after playing the first level, I see why. This game was originally on mobile devices and the touch controls are perfect for a paddle-based game. @SonichumanThought you'd like this Smash Ultimate win edit.

Got Arcade Archives GRADIUS III. Man, this game STILL leaves it's size 12s on my cheeks. Though all the customizable options does make this version a bit easier to handle. Hoping we get Gradius IV someday. My Switch replacement fan arrived on Sunday. She's been fixed since that day so I can play games for long periods of time again! I finally read up on that story where Microsoft tried buying Nintendo. Like, Nintey straight up LOLed at Microsfot for an HOUR. Even though they were getting spanked by Sony at the time, the idea of Microsoft buying them was that hilarious to Nintendo.

My mans Mario gets to go Super Saiyan in Bowser's Fury! Day Juan! My Blaster Master Zero 1 and 2 arrive today. I also got Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid delivered today. Game looks super unbalanced but mad fun. So I bought physical Final Fantasy IX off Amazon. Was all set to arrive today. I go to check the status of it and it says it is undeliverable, and I'm getting a refund. Guess I'll try ordering again once I get my refund. SMH.

I keep forgetting that the PS4 is region free. The only import game I've bought thus far has been Dariusburst Chronicle Saviors. With my Switch, I own more imports than any other system, my Saturn included. The fact that the majority of Switch games support English language makes it that much easier to buy imports. So long as the price isn't insane. I was on PlayAsia looking at the price for the Aleste Collection. Ain't no way I'm forking over $71 for a handful of Aleste games. I went ahead and bout the DLC for Ketsui. One included a special version of the game that had limited availability in 2007. I'll try it out after a few more runs through regular Ketsui. Anyway, I went back to Arcade mode on Ketsui and got my cheeks clapped. That Super Easy mode is calling me back and I'm about to come running. I did unlock Free Play which, I immediately turned on.

Thought I'd see how Ketsui is on Super Easy. Turns out that mode has trophies you can earn and that stage 4 STILL has a lot of crap to dodge.

What was violent about Night Trap? --------------------------------------- I did some looking and finally found my other PS4 controllers, one a Hori pad and another, a Sony Dual Shock. I thought an update screwed up the Dual Shock I was using but it turns out the D-pad just went bad. After changing controllers, it works just fine. I bought Ketsui off the PS store and after hearing the soundtrack to this game numerous times, it is great to finally hear it alongside gameplay! Man, this game is so good! Of all the M2 Shot Triggers games I've played, Ketsui feels more managable on the arcade setting. Yeah, it is tough but I can evade a lot of bullet patterns. Though I'm sure I should have died many times already. Might be some collision detection issues but I'm not complaining. I'm considering buying the arranged soundtrack that Jake "virt" Kaufman made. I've listened to it before so I know how awesome it is.

I wanna get both Ori games physical but my Best Buy only had two copies of Blast Master Zero left. So I got that and Blaster Master Zero 2. Should be arriving in a few days.

I meant to post that MK dunkey video but I got TOO SLOOOOOOWED by Sonichuman. And I realized that after I posted it in the Saloon thread. That MK video did take me back though. Man, those fatalities are so tame compared to what we have now.
