  1. Expanding on my dislike for the outfits

The world warriors pretty much all have some useless junk on them, like cheap Chinese game designs. For example, Ryu is wearing some blanket on him why? Does he carry it to sleep in the street? That's ok, but does he also wear it while he fights? Is this supposed to be an iconic look for Ryu in pop culture from now on, like, yeah the Street Fighter dude that wears a blanket across his chest? Why is Ken looking like disgraced Johnny Laurence? Why give Zangief pants? Is Blanka's iconic look supposed to include a scarf from now on? Why does it look like even Guile is wearing some sort of fashion clothes? Chun Li, I can't really be impartial about her... Do the designers think that any of these outfits will outlast the originals or improve on them somehow?

Then when we move into the row of other returning characters, is Cammy's waist-less, long-sleeved jacket supposed to be for summer or winter, or just 100% fashion design? DJ looks less visually striking than his classic maximum outfit though that's arguable I guess. Rashid looks great himself, but why the crossed belts across his chest? Does Juri really have non-functional zippers in her chaps? And she wears a spider piece that's separate from her actual vest? Why is ED wearing a jacket and no shirt? Why is Akuma wearing some random fur just over his shoulders?

Why does Jamie wear a jacket that does not cover his waist too? Nevermind his rolled-up leg cause he's a oh so quirky drunken fist fighter (I really hope it's rolled up and not tailored asymmetrical). I don't even know what to think of Lili, other than she looks like a Samurai Shodown character. How many unnecessary elements is Kimberly wearing? She's even carrying a braindead pandering character design “this character loves music, just like you” element!

I like many aspects of what we've seen so far, but the outfits look like some garbage-tier free-to-play Chinese game.

I interpreted that her encounters with Vega happened before her eventual confrontation with M. Bison. Chun's character story takes place when she was a rookie interpol officer. Vega tells Chun-Li her about her missing father and "how he met his end". And then when she faces M. Bison, that when she finds out from him that he's the one who killed him.

Or it's Capcom going "nobody's dead until the body is found". I seem to recall that they've been playing with the idea of not knowing if her father is dead.

    [On Chun Li]

Most rival encounters aren't canon or acknowledged by Capcom themselves.[...]

I generally agree, especially the part about SFA and SF4 being quite vague and hard to take conclusions from.

For Alpha1 and Alpha2, given that the final bosses are character specific, I would take that Chun Li did fight Bison and it went like a mix of both game endings or Bison just brushed her aside while he had other matters to attend. However, SF5 seems to retcon this encounter to have her fight Vega instead. I guess Chun Li also met Gen and maybe he tested her to see if he recognized her moves as Dorai's.

For Alpha3, I'd take her fight with Birdie at face value since that's how she gets the Thailand lead (or she tricked him into saying), and not much else. I suppose she could have fought Cammy and maybe kinda lost the fight or parted ways, since Cammy then has to continue her A3 story (SF5 shows Cammy beating Chun Li in Cammy's ending, for whatever it's worth). Then Chun Li is generally shown inside the base in the different endings, so she probably didn't fight Bison or take part on other actions outside. Her other fights like Guile and Zangief seem like verbal encounters, though maybe SodomVsChun could be canon if it serves as the reason to stop him from progressing, and maybe DanVsChun since I think they know each other in later games and the fight has no consequences that would discard it as not possibly happening.

For SF4 I'd take ChunVsViper and ViperVsChun as a sign that the fight happened for real and resulted in a draw or peace. I'd discard BalrogVsChun and VegaVsChun as non-canon filler (Vega specifically is shown not fighting her in his ending). I guess I'd discard ChunVsJuri since nothing suggests that they fought again after the OVA, and it's just there to have some ingame representation of their rivalry from the OVA and promo material.

For Urien, I wouldn't look down on him as featless, as she's generally been shown and looked at as solid. Being second to Gill is no small thing and I could easily see Urien on Sagat-level. His fight with Chun Li in SF3, though, is another vague case since we don't know if he actually wanted to keep Li-Fen and lost against his will or it was all a game for him and handed the girl after.

I'm overjoyed, Captain Commando toys are coming:

I've wanted to get some merch of the good Captain for ages, now I can! (Hopefully this is the first step in a slow resurrection of this IP)

Nice.  52Toys has been doing a great job with their BeastBox toys, so I'm sure these will be great. Can't say that I'm buying them for sure but it is nice news.

Does anyone even like the art style for SF5 ? I wanna hear you guy's opinions?

If we are speaking ingame, I like the overall style and I think the game looks gorgeous at times. However, it has an incredible amount of dumb flaws that bring it down.

Character models are outsourced and that's ok, but while some of them look fantastic other are really bad.

Some characters have serious issues with clipping and physics based elements, even in the character select and victory screens.

Character textures are aliased in places for god knows what reason, certainly not technical limitations.

Stage textures are often smudgy in a bad way, something that makes no sense in a closed-world game where stages are literally backgrounds and should look perfect.

Many stage elements don't cast shadows.

A number of stage characters move at 30 fps.

All of these are things that should have never been accepted regardless of the visual style the game went for. The art director should have said “No, this has to be redone or fixed somehow”. Other than that, yeah, I like it. I like it more than either realistic or anime styles, and I especially wouldn't trade the fully animated 60fps for a 10fps anime style.

Now, one thing I do dislike about the visual style and as personal opinion, there's no reason for characters to have giant hands and feet in a game that's high definition and 60fps. It looks bad and I'm not buying the readability thing.

  6. If you have a Bison figure of scale between 4” (GIJoe) and 6” (Figuarts) and want to give him a flying robotic skull aircraft of destruction you may be interested on the kickstarter for the Roboskull MKII, with a week more to go. Even the pilots and troopers can work well as Bisontroopers.

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skeletron/roboskull

It's a bit expensive, but when you think about it it's just the price of three or four Figmas, so it's not an unreasonable price for what it is.

  7. The fact that the Alpha arcade mode in SF5 features only one ending per character doesn't help since they had to choose between Alpha2 and Alpha3.

There was also the theory that since Alpha3 featured all SF2 characters and had Bison as the final boss Capcom might be looking to fuse its story with SF2 for simplicity, as suggested by C. Viper's animated short for SF4 that looks a lot like SFA3 and SF2.

he talks about Ingrid in this one. Thoughts?

What a waste of 12 minutes. He starts the video saying that they have something in common, then plays fool for most on the length of the video, only to touch the real issue at the 13:00 mark: they don't belong.

I couldn't care less if Ingrid is added to Super Moe Warrior 7 Stellar Edition. I just don't want her in Street Fighter.
