Supposedly, the main way Backstabs changed in ER is that before, they used to only check the initiator's side for a success, but now it checks both the initiator and receiver, so you actually need to get hit by it on your screen for it to work.

HFW feels so much bigger than HZD that I'm STILL playing HFW and I'm only at 60% with over 34 hrs. I'm REALLY enjoying the game a ton, even more than I expected, but Elden Ring is looming over me lol

Yeah I was just commenting on why calling it literal is a bad idea regardless.

The issue with saying a translation is "literal" is it could imply they didn't actually translate fully. An actually literal translation would be incredibly awkward or even indecipherable if the two languages are as different as JP and ENG are. Grammar and word usage can be extremely different. This is why, for those of you that read fan scanlations of manga, you sometime see dialog that is INCREDIBLY awkwardly written. The "translators" are not really translating the intent of the words and being too literal. "Original" is definitely a far better name for what it's trying to be, which is simply more faithful to the original writing. That isn't the same as being "literal" really

Horizon is one of those games where that doesn't bother me too much just cause the game itself is so fun to play and the combat is so great

It's not an exploit, the reason it works at all is because Sony originally said it wouldn't charge extra for the PS5 version then went back on their word, then got backlash for it so made a special exception for Horizon. I wouldn't expect other games to do it this way.

We already see one title like this, Babylon's Fall, and I don't think any of us really think that game looks very good

Makai Kingdom rerelease is cool

It's basically a Nioh game, so it's gameplay first, story second. And the gameplay is already excellent from the betas

I don't think they are owned by them, they just publish for them sometimes. Even Sekiro was self published in Japan, Bloodborne was after DkS1, etc.

An NFT is literally just like a receipt. So if the seller is legit, then sure. But being a new unknown thing there are a lot of people trying to make a quick buck cause many people don't get what it even is really

Yeah, the Horizon DLC was great, especially if you already like the world and lore, it adds quite a bit. New enemy types are good too.

Damn Ranger and Kunoichi are both sick! It's really weird having a game where special moves can cancel into each other pretty normally, but not being an air-dasher, but it's pretty interesting because of it

I hope DNF is cool. The really sudden beta announcement that takes place at the same time as KOFs does not seem smart. Personally I have no interest in KOF but seems like it would be way smarter to set your beta one a different weekend from a more established franchise
