  1. G4 would have died anyway just not as fast. There was goodwill/nostalgia factor grace period that would have likely carried G4 for the first year. Frosk nuked the grace period. While it was near impossible for G4 to succeed. No rant would have given the chance to try different things and people may have been more open to them. That would have slowed the death knell.
  2. I think it's about replicability. VA's get replaced all the time. It's harder to replace a live action actor and people immediately notice the change. Often companies will get a sound a like that'll take less. I remember when they localized the new content for Tales of Vesperia. They didn't bring back Troy Baker. They brought in another VA. Is it moral? No. Is it legal? Yes. So they don't have the leverage of a live-action actor. Also, in the case of games, they don't put in near the hours of the programmers creating the game. Using Hellena Taylor as an example. She spent 16 hours recording all of her dialog for Bayonetta 1. The game it self took two years, IIRC, to develop.
  3. It's not a new behavior. Not excusing it but this how Kamiya has always behaved on Twitter. He's always been a bit of dick.
  4. I just looked into this further. I wouldn't have been able to do it, at least not cheaply. Although now, I'd be much easier. The LS4 from Impala SS or Grand Prix GXP is mounted transversely, so the powertrain would be a far better match. Those engines should be relatively common, should be cheaper to maintain, and make more power than the 4.6 Northstar from that build. That said, if you want a stick, you'd have to hunt transmission that fits the Fiero's configuration. I'm sure GM made something that would do the job at some point in the last 25 years. https://www.lsxmag.com/news/video-a-ls4-v8-powered-pontiac-fiero/
  5. Yeah from my recollection it's a complete powertrain swap. Supposedly it fits well in the Fiero.
  6. I wanted a Fiero when I was younger. I wanted to engine swap the V6 for or an L98 V8. Apparently swapping Vette V8's were thing for the Fiero. I figured, in my head of course, that a 10+ year old (at the time) L98 V8 could be had for decent price. I
  7. There is only one NFL team that plays in New York....of you're taking about the Jersey boys 😉
  8. What happens to a Smasher when they tell @Sonerothat Smash is a fighting game.....
  9. One of my best friends in college was half Filipino, he did not date Asian girls. It seems to be a common thing. The funny thing is his mom wanted to him to marry a Filipino girl. She was pushing for it, yet she married a white guy. Side note: This smoking hot Korean chick was into him and he wouldn't give her the time a day.
  10. Another perspective from someone that does voice work.
  11. I'm not boycotting the game. Based on what's come out about VA pay, if I boycott Bayonetta 3, I would need to boycott any game with voice work. It would be a hypocritical stance otherwise IMO. It's why I thought gaming "journalists" not reviewing games because of toxic work culture was slippery and untenable slope. If you take a public stance on something, you'll expected to take it across the board. When you don't, it looks like virtue signaling for clout. I'm not saying people should or shouldn't boycott the game. Its their money. Although I'll eye people on Twitter with suspicion because there always people taking stances on a hot button issue. They take a stance get their likes and forget all about once the spot goes away. Side note: Not directly related but it's one of things I respect about Sean Penn. After the camera's leave dude is still there. I remember when Haiti got decimated, a couple of years later, he was still there.
  12. @SonichumanNo clue where she got her numbers from. My best guess was she was counting revenue instead of profit. This just an example but if the total numbers of all versions of Bayonetta 1 and 2 were 7.5 million and it sold $60, that would get to 450 million. Now we all know that that number is stretch and even if it isn't. The bulk of Bayonetta 1 sales were not at full MSRP and that's revenue not profit. If Bayonetta was that profitable, Sega would have funded the sequels themselves instead of taking whatever bag Nintendo gives them to license it as an exclusive franchise to their platform. Edit: Whatever the truth is the one thing that bugs me is her taking shots a Jennifer Hale. Jennifer Hale didn't steal her job. Hellena refused their offer and Platinum hired someone else. She has every right to be salty but that has nothing to do with Jennifer Hale. They didn't hire some unknown scab. They hired a highly regarded and fellow union VA.
  13. We'd need to verify the accuracy of this, but this is true. It looks like she was offered the standard union rate. @ShockDingoThis info accurate?
  14. @ShockDingoThanks for you insights man. It's good to hear from someone that actually works in the industry. I had forgotten about Dimitri Vegas....he made Ronda Rousey sound like Tricia Helfer in comparison.
  15. I'm certain VA's are getting underpaid in general. IIRC there was a big dustup about this a few years ago. It's part of the reason I tagged @ShockDingo. He's a voice actor and he'd have the most insight into the situation of anyone here. I doubt she was replaced because Hale is a bigger name. She is, but typically companies go with a famous person with mainstream appeal when they stunt cast a role. It's how we ended up with Ronda Rousey as Sonya Blade 🤢
  16. Yeah I want receipts on this Bayonetta 3 voice situation. I'm not saying Helena Taylor is being untruthful but at the same time her replacement isn't cheap. Jennifer Hale is literally the last female voice actor you hire if you're hard up for cash. If they were trying to cut corners, they would have went with an unknown. Edit: I'm not knowledgeable of this industry. @ShockDingodo you have an insight man? This whole thing just seems off to me, but maybe I'm completely wrong about this.
  17. It's not even that really. I actually have to give Nvidia credit. They played a magic trick. They got everyone so ginned up about the 4080 12GB (4060Ti), that they still get to sell the 4080 16GB (4070) for $1200. The only people that got jobbed in this situation are the AIBs which yet again proves the wisdom of EVGA ditching Nvidia.
  18. How can Gotham Knight look worse than Arkham Knight, be current gen exclusive, and be locked to 30fps?
  19. Martha you aint slick fam. Also people forget that Martha Stewart started off as a model.
