She represented that institution publicly since 1953. It's just plain cowardly. Easy to say something about someone when they can't respond to you.

DS9 as it is, or DS9 with modern sensibilities? Honestly I don't think DS9 would make it today and it's not because of Avery Brooks. DS9 took a few years to get it's feet under it and finds it way. Shows don't get that type of leeway these days. Boyega is interesting to me because initially he got flack for being a black stormtrooper but by the end it was the fans holding Disney's feet to the fire for how terribly they treated his character. The racist movie poster was just the tip of the iceberg. I don't think Moses Ingram would have gotten the same level of vitriol in the 90s or early 00s. On the flip side, I don't think people would have gotten the same vitriol for criticizing her character either. It's not an all or nothing situation for me. Some of it's the times we are in but also the caliber of writing has gotten much worse in my view.

Yeah Laura got two swimsuit costumes. Sakura's Christmas costume was anything but woke. It looked like something your girl would wear to surprise you on Christmas.

I really don't like this modern trend of taking a dump on people that just died. The woman was alive 96 years. They had nearly a century to say something. The woman's body isn't even cold and people are already acting out of pocket.

Recent history aside, Star Trek had a more steady flow of content. Outside of the dozen years between TOS being cancelled and the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek had something going on for three decades plus. When TNG finally went off the air DS9 and Voyager the following year were to pick up the mantle. Heck even the gap between Enterprise and Discovery was about 12 years. And given the 600+ TV episodes between the series, there is just a lot more content. I mean Star Trek has even had more movies than Star Wars.

Seeing this GoT vs. RoP back and forth, it's one big thing people seems to be missing. I haven't scene the new GoT series but I know that George R.R. Martin is actually involved in it. The original series of Game of Thrones pulled a True Blood, having the creator heavily involved at the outset only to push them aside later on. I don't know if the show is good but a lot of the criticism's I see around RoP revolve around peoples view of how it treats Tolkien's work. Can't really do that when the creator is on set. That aside, how is RoP getting review bombed but GoT isn't. I saw the usual channels making the same remarks about both shows but only the Rings of Power hate has continued post the premiere of each. Maybe people, I don't know, actually don't like the show 🤔

Yeah Combofiend's pull in Capcom has been vastly overstated. If he had any pull, he wouldn't have been the one carted out to take all heat for the lack of X-Men in Infinite. He literally had nothing to do with it but till this day people paint him with that brush.

They actually already released an updated model with a smaller heatsink. They took a good deal of copper out of it. So it looks like this update goes even further. It's nice of Sony to pass on the reduced manufacturing costs to the consumer....oh wait. 👀

So the latest patch dropped today apparently. 1.6, the bigger news was the talk about the upcoming expansion "Phantom Liberty" and offical mod support via REDmod. Which is only for current gen and PC. Last gen isn't getting the expansion. Although they'll still do smaller patches for stability post 1.6 on last gen. As far as major updates in the future, there doesn't seem to be any other expansions, but their a style major updates plan. There long awaiting overhaul of the Police system and revamped vehicle to vehicle combat are the two that come to mind.
