Rain and Sogetsu are good examples of hydromencers in fighters. They would be good to draw from.

Human Squirtle can be deadly. Concentrated water pressure should not be fucked with. As long as there are not bubble attacks it should be fine.

Those dead zones will make cross cutting a good skill to learn. I seen a few at high level doing it.
