God damn even Capcom is glazing Snake lmao

I know this has already been jerked off but this is easily a top 10 for the history books match. Snake was literally playing SF2 while Rey was playing arguably the most annoying top tier in the game. Not only did he claw his way back but he did this while lacking the ability to abuse the universal mechanics of the game outside of regular hold parry. I ran into Snake a few times in SFV. Once he was playing Kage and he was immediately in my head. He double perfected me without losing a game. It fucking demoralized the fuck outa me but I was throughly impressed. He fucking hated V and played like it once a month. And he was still taking names like he loved the game with a passion. He might be the one dude who I believe carrie’s his character.

What is the counter play against dragon lash? And before someone says uhhh duur just lab it I already have. Every version of the move is gay as fuck and trying to react to it or perfect parry it is whack. Regular parry is also whack too. Someone give me hope to show that I’m just fucking retarded.

I’ve seen mfers on Twitter say she doesn’t need it. This was brought up when James Chen was bitching about Kim getting hers taken away. But unlike Kim, Lily is not putting you in insane mid screen mix ups. Even when Kim is forced to use DR to go for a high/low she can still hold on to her meter for shit that actually matters. This is something that makes 0 sense to me too. Juri is a better fucking grappler than Lily it’s actually insane. When Juri back throws you she gets DR oki. When Lily back throws you I’m now on a Mortal Kombat stage because I’m too fucking far away to do anything. On top of this Lily DR is an embarrassment. Watching Ken instant transmission from full screen with stand strong makes me want to step on a plant. And I’m not talking just any plant I’m talking about the prettiest plant!!!! I want Lily to be broken next year!!!!!!

Lily is probably the second worst character in the game. Geif is probably the worst. Lily legitimately has nothing. No combos, no drive rush, no cancelable mediums, is a chores character where almost every way to stock is minus and is meter hungry to the point of absurdity. Her one degenerate tools effectiveness is locked behind a chore. Her one guaranteed anti air normal is too finicky in neutral and comes down at a weird angle that can whiff on jump ins it shouldn’t whiff on. I don’t know what Capcom was thinking when designing this character.

Something that's really interesting about SF6 is that people that I was playing against in Super Diamond that were close to the same rank as me or around UD are now all master rank. It's such an odd feeling because I wonder what changed between 5 and 6. Do these players just work better with a game that has a universal system? SFV had a universal system but it didn't work the same across characters so maybe that created some level inconsistency? I know some people say it's easier getting to Master in this game which seems to be the case. For reference James Chen was like around 1500LP in SFV with Lucia and was constantly screaming about how bad she was lol. He always played really great against me though so it was obvious he knew what he was doing. I wonder if I could make it to master rank with Lily if I try hard enough but I find 6 to be really tough. Like its crazy how many people I played in 5 that were literally the same rank as me who are now master now it's crazy. Makes me feel so behind 😥

Your base fundamentals from SFV should carry you enough. I'm Diamond 1 and I literally don't know anything have 0 set ups and 0 neutral. I'm just spamming shit. Don't worry about trying to perfect parry everything and don't feel bad about getting stuck in the corner. These are the top things that will carry you regardless of who you play. Make sure to learn how to counter DI spam. DI interactions can be weird and won't always make sense in the moment. A good example is when someone will hit you with a normal on block and confirm into Drive Rush. If you DI right when they do that they'll have enough time to DI back. Don't DI jump ins because you'll always lose that interaction unless you're a fucking god. Don't worry about having the crispiest DR confirms. You'll get yourself killed trying to be swaggy. Just play the game like you would SFV and focus on 1 primary Drive Rush combo. Take the throw fuck what anyone says getting shimmied in this game is worse than SFV (I'm partially joking) Pick Lily and spam EX condor spire so you don't have to actually engage with the system. Just let that shit go brrrrrrrr and watch people fail to Perfect Parry that sucka Depending on how good you were in SFV that should either carry you to Plat 1-4 or Diamond 1. After that you gotta know what the fuck is going on because the Diamond grind is brutal.

I beginning to really hate the start up 1 frame slow down that DR creates. I don’t like that I can predict when someone is about to DR but the game makes me stick the ground. This is especially egregious for characters like Marisa and Juri that have full screen DR oki after fucking everything.

I just got my first GG’s nice match DM. I thought the 2 million was supposed to make us all insane with toxicity. What happened bros?!
