  1. I was never a Fallout fan, but it was fun to laugh at the absolute disaster that F76 was. I remember *trying* to get into it with part 3 or 4 but that world just wasn't quite grabbing my interest like the Elder Scrolls world/lore does.
  2. Baldur's Gate----man.... the reaction of Raphael when your character mentions "I'll control the Crown for myself..."...it's like he did the J. Jonah Jameson meme for real: ...after he recovers from laughing at you then he's like "Oh...oh you're serious?!" EDIT----ohhhh the plot thickens once again... yet another variable to think about in terms of my character's allegiance....
  3. Yeah Ghostbusters is the other big one that comes to mind when I think of that year.. ...so this episode of The Unbelievable on History just now covered "Smell-O-Vision"... I vaguely remember hearing about that before but didn't give it much thought as a kid...I think I just wrote it off as a joke reference or something but yeah it was real https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smell-O-Vision Imagine if they debuted this concept with a nasty comedy film...... filled with toilet humor....then you'd have scenes of a character farting or dropping a huge shitpile, and the audience would actually be smelling that for real! Drop some puke scenes in there for good measure and let the audience catch a whiff of that.
  4. Oh yeah, the lovely Minthara has been part of my crew for a while now, on the character I have in Act 3. The damage she dishes out can be pretty insane; paladin smite attacks for days....and I also have her wielding a legendary mace called Blood of Lathander so that's been a factor as well. She's also a strong natural counter to any undead thanks to all this "radiant" damage.
  5. Well, today's an anniversary for Friday the 13th... part 4, which happens to be my favorite in the franchise is 40 years old now: The top ranks for me in that are part 4 and 6 "Jason Lives". Part 7 is up there as well for me; that was the one with the blonde psychic girl as the main character. '84 also being the legendary year that gave us The Terminator as well... that's really the main film that comes to mind when I think of that year.
  6. Oh... I guess I might go back... after that was over I didn't even bother... but I'm still in the general area. Currently though this warlock main character I was playing has the staff that gives "lightning charges" (a reward from another quest)... it's been so good since the charges occasionally add that little extra lightning damage to your attacks....so my Eldritch Blast could potentially hit them up with force, necrotic from Hex, psychic (illithid "psionic overload" power) and lightning all at once.... Later on, I finally ran into "Omeluum", an interesting character I was looking for since I knew he was somewhere in the Underdark. Now I'm regretting the fact that this was a thing I spoiled for myself in researching some things...I could imagine it being a shock not being aware of that character and suddenly he appears out of nowhere as you're talking to this other dude.
  7. Vee got some time with that new Rogue Prince of Persia game
  8. Baldur's Gate---so I fought this robot called "Grym"... it's such a ridiculous character and fight... but easily beatable via a gimmick of pushing a lever so a giant hammer device smashes down, crushing him for 150 damage a hit....he has "only" 300 so once he gets smacked 2 times with that it's done. However... the crazy thing is that he's borderline invincible to everything unless you make sure the lava is still in the area so he's "superheated" and as a result... vulnerable....otherwise he's super-resistant or flat out immune to about every form of damage. Even with the gimmick I still just barely made it through that nonsense. This is worth it though, because you get 875 exp for killing it. He summons those little demons called "mephit" as well so that's even more exp.... my warlock already had "haste" cast on him by Gale so all of those little guys were easily destroyed by my 2 actions = 4 Eldritch Blast beams...they didn't even get a chance to fly over and do anything.
  9. oh yes, I can't get enough of anything that shines a spotlight on that worthless shit-hole city Memphis, TN The intriguing thing is the level of coping I've seen from people I know there...I think it runs at such a deep subconscious level they aren't really aware that's what it likely is, to be so proud of what is obviously a shitty place filled with horrible, untrustworthy and outright dangerous people everywhere....similar to how an abused spouse would be so proud and may even get defensive over the "loving partner" that occasionally beats their ass. ...with the Infinity Gauntlet powers, yep, this city would be on the list of things I'd magically erase from the universe.....and then I'd sit there with the same smile of satisfaction, that I did a great thing....like wiping a bad stain off the country.
  10. Of all the "origin" characters in Baldur's Gate 3... so far Astarion has been my favorite; whenever I get around to that playing as an origin character that isn't "Dark Urge", Astarion is the choice... then perhaps Gale would be after that. Yeah, I can see that my total playtime for this game is going to be almost on par with my Diablo addiction. I'm already close to 200 or so hours, I think... the ps5 and pc versions combined....usually on my Steam Deck adventures at work lunch hours, or wherever else away from home... and on the ps5 at home. There was a thread on the subreddit about least used characters... and so far for me it's Halsin. On each of my main characters, that guy just gets murdered every time, since I'm always picking "raiding the grove" in act 1. He never gets to even say or do anything---he's just another victim in my adventures.... there's also Wyll until a recent character; I had him in the party *until* that point where we raided the grove....and of course he wasn't cool with that and immediately became an enemy we had to kill. ha, good times, this game.
  11. So many odd dreams lately... so the other night it was a dream about vacationing on other planets being a normal thing... then last night I dreamed that the "penny-farthing" or "high-wheel" bike was back in style for some reason, and I had one. I've never even given that much thought since first learning about them as a little kid... those were the bikes from a long time ago with the super-large/tall front wheel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny-farthing In the dream, I was stressing out about where I could safely park the thing when I went to stores or wherever I was headed....kinda regretting my purchase and wishing I went with a normal-sized bike instead....it also seemed awkward in comparison to normal bikes. That's the other thing---I haven't even ridden a bicycle since I was a kid.... I had a black/grey Huffy-brand one that had the "dirt-bike" look that was so cool at the time. That other dream about being on another planet though--- yeah, aliens were also involved, of course... it was a normal thing to also consider the customs and laws and what's "acceptable" with the native people of whatever world you were visiting.
  12. I wish my friend wasn't so slow with progressing certain games---I can already tell that it might be years before he gets around to the same point I'm at now with BG3 so we can discuss some things...especially since he probably isn't going full on evil mode (or at least "morally questionable/grey") like I tend to do with my characters 99% of the time when I have the choice. I'd like to hear which route he'd take his character when at the same crossroads point of the story... spoiler-rambling of course, as I've reached some pretty major points in the main story now...
  13. oh that reminds me---that one fatass dude in SFV... I remember now... Rufus was memorable in just how generally ugly and unappealing that character was....like goddamn I had never seen anything that repulsive at the time in terms of character design. Yeah there's the occasional goofy joke characters, especially in fighting games....and then there's straight up rancid dogshit designs like that piggy-piggy "My 600 lbs. Life" lookin' dude Rufus. It's one of the worst I've ever seen, seriously. *oh it just hit me----imagine when modders put Lady Dimetrescu's big fine ass into Stellar Blade
  14. It's really annoying how goddamn shitty Microsoft generally is. It makes things annoying and more difficult than they should be when part of your job involves using these shoddily mammy-made half-ass bullshit like MS Teams and the "Office" garbage ass apps. ...little shit like why am I having to wait 38 years for a goddamn word to appear on the screen after I typed it? Or the icon shows up like things are fine but the app window itself isn't there and it is not minimized, etc. etc. Maybe if the IT industry wasn't apparently run by actual retards and trolls then the shit would function properly more often. Silly of me to expect things to work properly, I guess.
  15. ha, mannnn this argument will never end... the mention of MK girls did remind me though of just how ugly the new Tanya is; even amongst that cast she stands out in a bad way to me... that was quite a shame there considering how she and the other ones looked previously. Sure, eye-candy is not the only thing of importance, but it's a nice side bonus in the mix, and I don't see the point in reducing or removing that. We need MS to hurry up and reveal more of the new Fable so that could be the next trash-fire for everyone to argue and/or laugh about 😆 I imagine that should be a good one for sure. If they keep things more or less the same---at the very least in Fable you could choose whether that main character is a dude or a woman (in current era I'm sure it will formally be referred to as "Body type 1" or "Body type 2", of course), so there's that option in the mix.
  16. I think this show was part of the sad, final era of "Saturday Morning cartoons"... it was one of the last ones I cared about at least.... a real shame it didn't last; the potential for greatness was there ...though it being a Saturday-morning show was frustrating at the time though, since naturally that means the restraints of "standards and practices" would be super strict on what they could show.
  17. nah I haven't seen it yet---for one, I don't have Disney and it's only on that, I think(?) I'm glad they went with a mostly similar look to the old 90s cartoon, of course. That 90s style is what jumps out as the best/memorable X-men look to me. This reminds me; I was watching this cool vid about Mr. Sinister recently...one of my favorite comic book villains ever... On another note entirely---some more foolishness Anton was taking a look at for a minute... I never tire of vids where women make themselves look foolish....
  18. Imagine the possibilities in a few years.... who would even need Hollywood studios anymore at that point? ...I could just direct the almighty AI to create whatever, all specifically catered to your own taste; just off the top of my head here: The Originals, season 6, Vampire Diaries season 9... a "fixed" version of "Legacies". Automan, with today's special effects. New Silverhawks series. Sectaurs: The Return. (an IP that has absolutely no chance, since I am one of perhaps 35 people in the world that remember it) Unreal Championship Viewtiful Joe Dungeons & Dragons (continuing with the characters from the old 80s cartoon; new adventures) Vampire the Masquerade series Strider Baldur's Gate - the continuing adventures of my characters, of course. ...and of course that's not even getting into any of the original ideas that could become reality according to whatever the user has in mind. The list goes on and on forever.... effectively making the regular Hollywood tv/movies industry obsolete for me.
  19. haha I had forgotten about the "bored ape" character until that post--- that seemed to be the "face" of the strange, short-lived "nft" era. That was funny that people were spending money on those thinking it would be worth something later. ...a shame that Modnation Racers is a dead IP now... I probably would've made "bored ape" one of my characters for a cheap laugh. Modnation had everything in the game industry easily beat with superior customization on damn near everything. The supposed king of the genre Mario Kart (nor anything else) wasn't giving us that. *I had a dream the other night that traveling to other planets was a common thing, similar to when people hop on a plane to vacation in another part of the world. In the dream, I was visiting some other planet and surprised to find out that phone calls to family back on earth still worked just fine for some reason.
  20. sheeeitttt, when the gym gets the right song going in the playlist it fires the hype in that workout big time... I didn't realize this song was "old" when I looked it up just now They had a serious jam session in last night's workout/class.
  21. Fortunately for me there's not much temptation with that game anyway.... it's Star Wars but I'm not playing a primarily lightsaber-wielding, force-using character? I can't choose to be a villain, it looks like? It's a no for me, dawg. There's just a few very simple things like that I look for in a Star Wars game, and it doesn't appear to be served up in this one, sadly. ...a good thing I hear that a new KOTOR is in the works; my friend has talked up that game for many years, and of course Baldur's Gate 3 finally got me a bit more open-minded about turn-based games.
  22. That SW character is a clear step up from the dog-ugly bitch in the new Fable game though....and the 2nd version of Alloy at least, with her strange "Nickocado Avacado as a ginger" porky face. *I wonder if there will be customization in the new Fable game, actually... this was a complaint I had with the previous ones... that there wasn't much customization other than the clothing you wear and picking if it's a male or female character, if I recall. The character's looks only changed depending on the morality of your actions, I remember....it was a frustrating mixed bag there; sometimes (heh, most times, really) I want to be an evil character while still looking handsome and cool.
  23. I always thought it was weird how many obvious lies people would come up with for Mortal Kombat back in the early years.... people saying random things and trying to start rumors like "I heard AL BUNDY was a hidden character in this one!"---and they'd say that shit with a straight face trying to start a rumor (or repeating the lie they heard from someone else)... or "In that forest stage, you can make it so one of those trees with the faces will eat the opponent as a stage fatality!" or "I heard HOMER SIMPSON is a secret character in there!" Of course some of these are because back then, I happened to be friends with certain people who were habitual liars anyway though....the kind of people to just make up something so it sounds like they know more than everyone else in the room at any given time....so maybe that's it---the fact that there's just a lot of people out there that are like that. On another note---Upper Echelon vid with Asmongold commentary here that is spot on... ....too bad that war has already been lost. Most gamers (younger gens especially) are too short-sighted and apathetic to really care that much, so the large greedy corporations already have a "Checkmate." situation and that's that. Most politicians are also still in the boomer generation (along with their constituency; look at the dinosaurs we have running for the Presidency AGAIN, btw) so they are unaware or just don't care about topics like this in first place as well. So no, there is no hope.
  24. y'know... the lazy side of me is a bit annoyed that I have to complete a certain quest for those cool master skills in Dragon's Dogma... on the other hand that does kind of mix it up though, that since those are the top-rank stuff you'd have to do something extra in acquiring such abilities....anyway I'm still having fun here; just unlocked the seismic magic. I've already seen the casting time is outrageous for those "Maister" spells though. It would be nice to have more than just 4 spells/abilities... I keep thinking... why not more, since this is the modern era where the typical controller has so many buttons and combinations? At the least I would've gone the route of having R or L allow you to access "alternate" button-mapped spells/abilities....so there would be your default actions like jump and dash, group 1 of spells/abilities when you hold down L, then group 2 could be if you hold down R, so this would at least give you 8 spells/abilities you can do in battle.
  25. Man that is something. We all remember that this guy J. Majors' career was blowing up big time all of a sudden; he had become the latest "media darling"... that show Lovecraft Country (I loved that, btw; I haven't finished watching but I have the dvd), then he was in the Creed franchise and was all set up as the next major villain in the MCU. ...and then this one woman easily brings it all crashing down, of course. Now----he'll be lucky to get randomly casted in those straight-to-tv Lifetime/We/Oxygen holiday romcoms where the smalltown girl is now a lawyer in the big city, then comes back home for Christmas and re-connects with her old high school boyfriend.....or miscellaneous cheaply made Tyler Perry films. *This also annoyingly feeds right into an argument the typical "Hotep" "Black woman is God!" types out there that are against black people dating non-black people. (as if this situation couldn't possibly have happened if he was with a black woman, btw....we're supposed to pretend the so-called "queens" are always so perfect and superior, I guess.....yeah ok Dr. Umar and friends 🤣) **edit----they seem to be more against black men dating interracially, of course. When black women do it, suddenly they are suspiciously quiet about that or start up with various reasons why they don't take issue with that.
