  1. BlazBlue Entropy Effect---I finally started getting the resource that lets you unlock more characters, so now I have Hakumen and Hibiki....so far Hakumen has been fun, though a bit slow compared to Jin. The further you get the more ability/stuff you can unlock as you go, so it gets more interesting than the limited set of moves you start with. I'd like to see this same idea using other fighting game rosters; the fighting genre mixed into roguelike/side-scrolling action always seemed like an awesome idea to me. BG3- ha, well that didn't take long... on my Steam-version Paladin character, the act of killing the 2 Tieflings that were holding Lae'zel (convinced them to let her out so we can killer...then killed them instead) made me an "oathbreaker" now. https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Oathbreaker
  2. It's funny to see the new generation of pranksters that apparently didn't get the memo....that "pranks" on video were/are supposed to be FAKE. You're not supposed to do the shit for real, or else yeah... you tend to find out "the hard way" pretty fast. On another note---"first world problems"--- there's so much more entertainment stuff in the world today that it's actually a bit too much to ever get caught up on. The list of cool stuff I'm behind on in terms of shows (Mayfair Witches, Ninja Kamui, etc.), movies and especially games (e.g. Helldivers, Granblue Fantasy, Banishers, etc.) is crazy at this point....games much more than anything else, since that particular kind of entertainment is such an insane time-sink; 1 great game you enjoy with a lot of replay value can amount to hundreds or even thousands of hours of good times....just 1 game....and of course, imagine how many games have existed since the industry became a thing....and how many games are in development currently. It's impossible to keep up, really. ...and I just listed the classic, "major" forms of entertainment---then there's also the new kid on the block----the internet (mainly youtube; the "tv" with billions of channels; content of just about anything you can think of endlessly going...haha I currently have 5 youtube tabs and one live-stream going on right now as I made this post.) ...randomly that's another reason it's odd and silly to me that when the topic of immortality comes up, the usual response from most people is sadly that they'd get "bored"....haha get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. There's barely enough time in life now to enjoy even a fraction of all the cool entertainment-related stuff out there that is continually being produced every day.....especially with this unfortunate human need for sleep taking up so much of our damn time in life.
  3. So I finally checked out that vid on Darkwatch such a shame....and depressing to find out from this that Activision sits on the IP, and as usual with a lot of big (dumb) companies....they are seemingly content to let it sit NOT making money as a forgotten, obscure thing forever.
  4. I just heard this point of contention again on a podcast/livestream I'm listening to at the moment---one thing I'll never agree with about critics of Man of Steel---when they have a problem with Superman eventually killing Zod. It made perfect sense within the context of the movie/story there... what else was Kal-El supposed to do, bruh? It was presented in a harshly real-world kinda way... anyone that's on my side of the issue has probably already gone thru these points a thousand times in their head at least: Clark was "fresh" at the superhero thing. As far as he knows, he is literally the ONLY dude on the planet at the moment that is capable of dealing with this bad guy Krptonian. Zod is quickly adjusting to his powers here on Earth...as time goes by, he will only become more of a threat quickly as he gets used to the effects of the sun. Zod has also clearly stated something to the effect of this only ending 1 of 2 ways---"either they die, or I do...". He has heat vision about to vaporize some people and when begged to stop he's like "NEVER." Ok, *neck snap* DONE. ..and again, this guy being a fellow Kryptonian happens to also be a military-born/trained dude....that makes the threat level here even worse when you consider that. (*imagine, you as a "regular dude" having to fight with some guy that's like a SWAT or Navy SEAL Team 6 badass with years of combat training...) What, we're going to put him in a regular prison he'll easily break out of 2 seconds later? In this movie we don't have that weird phantom zone trap thing so that's not an option....the Fortress is the only Kryptonian tech still around aside from the now destroyed ship the others arrived in and he wouldn't know how any of that shit works. I forgot if Clark was even aware of kryptonite at this point, actually...so that's another option that's not quite on the table if I recall. (and even there, he wouldn't be carrying it around...that job would likely fall to Batman, who Clark hasn't even met in this movie)
  5. haha that was cool... in one early dungeon type area... when you break the door down, there's 1 character in there alone, but if she runs off she will alert others for help... well this time since this latest character is a paladin, I used that "Command" spell and it worked... commanded her to "approach", so that stopped her from running over to the other door to get help....instead she turned around and came back over to me.... I easily killed her while those in the other room are still unaware of our presence.
  6. Toriyama is one of those notable people that I think of when there's that question of who you'd like to interview/chat with in person... it would be interesting just hearing what it's like creating a character and story/universe that goes on to be so incredibly popular across the world for years and decades and all the merchandising that goes with it---toys, games, movies, clothing, etc. It's a thing probably every other artist or other creative-type person dreams of... to have produced something from your imagination and sketchbooks that hits BIG with the world like that.
  7. BG3 - so I got the Everburn sword again on another paladin character (Steam Deck version)... things got off to a good start right away when Shadowheart's close-range attack with a "necrotic damage" touch actually did 22 points of damage to Zhalk... a surprisingly huge amount of damage right at the start of the game; I forgot if he's weak to necrotic damage or perhaps that was just a "good roll" on the attack but that was huge. As usual I also had her cast "Guidance" on Mindflayer to help him fight Zhalk for us....then of course we killed Mindflayer later for the exp. The Everburn sword might actually be good for a warlock as well if you go the route of "Pact of the Blade", I assume...making that your "bound" magical weapon....but yeah that sword is such an incredible item to get in the early game....it's hard to imagine starting things off any other way now... even if your main character will be a primarily magic based character, it's still good to get if someone in the party (like Lae'zel or perhaps Karlach) is a strength-based character....and then there's the huge amount of exp to consider as well. Running past the fight like normal means you have just missed out on 150 xp; you could've been level 2 immediately after the ship crash. It's too good to pass up.
  8. Well, I never gave this topic any thought until Coach brought it up now... yeah---if they go way overboard with a super-sized bbl---how can they still do proper wiping? Imagine a woman walking around with that big fake dump-truck sized booty....and it's just permanently stank back there... no way to fix it.... possible leakage + dooky remnant smells. *edit---and I still wonder how the women with those super fingernails (e.g.--the ladies of the 90s RnB group SWV) wipe either....how? Isn't there a danger of cutting your ass with those long talon-like nails?
  9. BG3 - So... a new level of depravity... I realized you can pick up the dead bodies and throw them like "improvised" weapons, so that's another little detail for adding insult to injury....also, my Tiefling warlock Julian finished off helping with the massacre of the Grove.... I actually found the body of a dead Tiefling kid and had Shadowheart throw him around a bit (this requires someone with a certain level in Strength, of course and even with that---she's only strong enough to pick up small bodies---gnomes, halflings, kids, etc.)... I threw up at a vase one time to break it. I didn't get a chance to use the corpse as a weapon though since there's never any survivors of the Grove. It was extra nice to kill Kagha, Arron and those other druids...it always is. This time I made sure to kill Arron asap since he has that "Darkness" spell which is quite a dangerous problem to deal with.....always nice to look over the results of this battle; the bodies everywhere... a whole village slaughtered and gone. Such a beautifully played betrayal. They never really had a chance once everything was set into motion. Exquisite carnage indeed, Minthara.
  10. BG3---and so another new character was made.... an orc paladin (Vengeance Oath) .... On this one, I went for the kill on Commander Zhalk and actually managed to help that Mindflayer kill him... had Laezel pick up the awesome fire sword and got out of there... surprisingly we managed to kill the Mindflayer too. This flaming sword is the God-level shit in the early game so far... you're hitting hard and with extra fire damage on top. You get 75 xp for Zhalk and 75 xp for the mindflayer...so right after the ship crash you're starting off at level 2 already on the beach. I'm already level 3 now. ...I helped those 2 Tieflings kill Laezel again, then turned right around and killed them too. Yeah, the adventures of Turdax the Foul paladin have begun.
  11. I was looking thru my old Gamecube game cases and found it again finally (I had a habit of having games in the wrong cases).... one of my favorites of all time---VIEWTIFUL JOE! Oh yeah, that's getting played again later for sure. It seems like Capcom won't ever do a re-release for it so having the original game (or I guess emulating it?) is the only hope for fans of this game. ...there was so many great memories with it; like getting all Rainbow V ranks on the stages as Captain Blue....and recording it (VHS at the time); I still have mp3 audio of that [this was direct audio rip of the vhs footage] final battle where I finished the all RV rank run as well...there were 1 or 2 times where I got hit but did the "Ukemi" quick-get up move to salvage the situation (retaining rank).....still remember the epic feeling of triumph that day when I did it, then playing thru again as my rewarded "Super Captain Blue" character. I also had started an all-RV rank run with V.Joe but never finished it though---Captain Blue is a bit easier in general to get thru the game with. A reminder of the greatness:
  12. that's a bit of a surprise to me... I had just assumed that most new and recent streaming shows/movies now would just stop getting physical media releases, since the industry seems so hellbent on killing that off as fast as they can. The various companies would rather have people just commit to a future of paying a subscription fee indefinitely. Well, this news at least sparks some small bit of hope, even though it's mostly shows I have no interest in. I went to my usual Best Buy location out of curiosity this past weekend and sure enough, yeah they have cleared out that entire tv/movie section. It was good while it lasted... surprisingly they still had physical versions of games in there though; I thought those were going away in BB as well.....but yeah, they might as well be dead to me now. I no longer have a reason to walk into a Best Buy ever again.
  13. "Trader"--that reminded me there was a brief time back when I was in high school where that became slang for "lying" for some odd reason.... I was never sure why/how that became the slang for lies but I heard it often "aw quit tradin'" or "haha she tradin'." heh heh, there was a short time when guys might refer to other guys as "dog nuts", like a term of endearment, and later that quickly got shortened to just "Dog", and "road dog" or "ro' dog" was a thing for a while. ...and that just brought back the memory of one big/fat dude people affectionately referred to as Hamburger/Hamburglar, or Big Ham; haha that nickname for that guy always amused me....it was some funny nicknames back then in the high school days. I've already mentioned the other dude people called "Chickenbone" before....oh and nah, Chickenbone and Big Ham never knew each other if I recall, but I imagine that being a starting point/premise for a buddy-cop film.
  14. BG3 - well this "Dark Lady's" bonus has been incredible (24 Charisma points!!!) but I have to finally give it up sadly... since it only lasts "until long rest".... Alastor's crew is finally out of spell slots and all that jazz at this point; all they can do is basic attacks, since I've used both short-rests as well now. A real shame---I see you can only get the bonuses once: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Sharran_Sanctuary The xp in Act 2 is SO good... just made it through 2 more fights with random enemies that appeared... the first group was a couple of wraiths, a shadow or 2 and some "shadow-cursed" folks....checking the combat log later I got around 650 to 700 exp or so off that battle... then I found another area with some zombies and "Greater Zombies" and got some nice exp there, though we barely survived that one. There was another fight before those 2 but I wanted to see what happened if I avoided it with certain dialog options, and the resulting situation there was too cool to pass up(it involved getting the enemies to basically kill each other; still got about 280 exp from it though) It looks like I'm about halfway to level 7 now. ...annnd we just ran into the devil Raphael again! Ohooo this should be good...
  15. oh shit I just realized---since you could make gnome and other pint-sized characters in Baldur's Gate...stealing from other media, one could make Chucky, or perhaps a green one as one of those "Ghoulies" from the movie... or David the Gnome, Papa Smurf, that goblin from Cat's Eye, Mr. Mxyxtlplk, Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf, etc. haha now I'm remembering that Hank theme song: I already have "Gazoo" in the game as a little warlock, and while creating him I was thinking of making an evil smurf character as well.
  16. I finally watched at least the first episode of Ninja Kamui. The action/fight scenes in this just shit on 99% of everything else animated I've seen in many years.
  17. BG3---I made yet another character; a Bard this time (violin as the instrument of choice)......for now he's a Gith but I might remake him as another race/species... but surprisingly I managed to make a cool-looking Gith character. Normally they look pretty damn goofy to me... especially the male ones. Since there's a musical theme going on here with the choice of bard, I named him "Leopold" (reference of a classic Bugs Bunny cartoon which was referencing a real guy)
  18. Surprising he's just now getting around to this classic one---Near Dark
  19. Man, this has been an impossible dream since childhood.... if only someone could work out the legalities and copyright issues to make this kind of greatness a a game for real: Mortal Kombat was the closest "official" way we'd ever get to this thanks to its various special guest characters over the years.
  20. Wow.... as if Dragon's Dogma 2 wasn't already looking awesome enough... look at this latest reveal---- the Mystic Spearhand (which is age-restricted for some odd reason) Easy day one purchase right there, folks. *Also---Banishers works on Steam Deck so yeah that's definitely mine soon:
  21. BG3---something I definitely made a note of for later... SIX mindflayer tadpoles to be found here!
  22. haha that Netflix version Elvis^ there cracked me up... It's funny when you see it in real life ---I knew a girl in high school that looked like a Black version of Jennifer Aniston. It was odd... but yeah, she was of course pretty damn hot as the "race-swapped Aniston", obviously... Aniston and Courtney Cox were the hottest ones on that show Friends back then. Lisa Kudrow was nice as well but ranked a close 3rd place behind Courtney and Jenn.
  23. Dawn of the Monsters and the new Double Dragon are currently on a Steam sale for the next few days...now might finally be the time I get that Double Dragon game then; I already have Dawn of the Monsters. Souldiers is also on sale for 7.99 I just noticed.
  24. BG3 - ah yes, the sweet moment of betraying your own people.... my Tiefling Warlock "Julian" made it to that point of raiding the Grove. It was funny how at first you can mislead Zevlor a bit by saying "...I tried to stop them...sorry."---- then another response is something like "Oh you misunderstand.... I'm with them." I absolutely love this moment of villainy... the look on Zevlor's face when he realizes the situation 🤣 Apparently this is always the last straw for Wyll if he's in your party, btw... he's pissed and calls you a traitor, then you get that message about him permanently leaving the party, so he becomes an enemy at that point. As mentioned earlier, his fate was sealed immediately on that decision. Now he lay there in a pool of his own blood, not far off from Zevlor...and the merchant I just sold some things to and a few other fresh corpses. It would be cool to have the "animate dead" spell at this moment to add further insult to injury by raising their corpse as an undead servant against the others. Oh yeah I swiped the expensive items the merchant had now that he's dead, of course. Now to finish wiping out the rest of this entire place.
