  1. I can more or less ignore Pratt as Mario. The voice isn't great, but that was expected. It just really feels like Illumination is going to go to their basic playbook of jokes that are stale and played out once again. I'm hoping that's not the case, but who knows? Also, please don't make Peach some sassy and smug modern update. That would fuck things up way more than Pratt's voice.
  2. The Mario trailer seems very "by the numbers" for Illumination. I hope it's good, but my expectations are skeptical.
  3. I've never had Whataburger, but I have my doubts since In n Outs fries taste like newspaper.
  4. If you can, there's a really nice kitchen aid accessory that basically grates the cheese for you. I definitely recommend soaking it in water afterwards though, otherwise it's a bitch to clean, but that's normal.
  5. Goddamn that makes me miss when I worked for a pizza place way back when. The mozzarella they had shredded soft enough to use as a pillow. It was the best. How does the turkey pepperoni compare to the regular type? Seeing as how I prefer turkey bacon, I figure it might be worth looking into. Also, that crust looks awesome.
  6. A lot of the script for Total Recall was written right around the same time as COBRA, but went through pre-production hell for the longest time. It took Arnold bailing out the company that held the movie rights out of bankruptcy to get it made.
  7. You can't fool me. That's Roger from American Dad in a disguise.
  8. Speaking of relationships, anyone notice how bad the relationship is in that Hootie song? Girl emasculates the guy. He looks at other girls, she gets mad because he has guy friends. It's just bad all over. And yet, he insists that he's looking for a girl just like her
  9. I feel like people should probably just try to understand women a bit more
  10. https://twitter.com/WidebandMaid/status/1572786098052399109?s=20&t=C5pu1ABCMRKuBadnCeY1Rg
  11. As someone with a female best friend, yeah, it's real. It just isn't common.
  12. He's right. The "attention economy" is at its most cutthroat and every company will lie, cheat, and steal what they can to get your hours. We're at an overabundance of entertainment, and they know it. They don't necessarily need to make it "good", they just need to stop you from watching something better
  13. The funny thing is, if the show were closer to the books they were sourcing, it'd be called even more woke than before. Jen's struggles all but ended when she turned green and she was piling on W after W while being funny and witty at the same time. She was a character who wanted to help, but felt weak and timid before the world got unlocked for her and she got the power and confidence to do anything. I'd love to see it.
  14. This is correct. I haven't, which is why I said I don't know if the show is good or not. Only that the 1 scene took me out because of how bad it looks by itself, as it was presented.
  15. One thing this discussion has definitely made me want to do is re-read a lot of my older She-Hulk books.
  16. Hey, just a heads up, this was a REALLY poor way to make this statement. I get what you were trying to get it, but this was definitely not the way to do it.
  17. I think we're both ultimately saying the same thing, but defining the terms differently, ie my using "success" with regularity while you use it more towards scope or scale. I think that she does what she does as well as she does (to be put in as broad a terms as possible to avoid confusion) is due to the hurdles she has to climb not being as grand as his, but she has had to do so near consistantly. Alternatively, what he has to deal with his so mammoth in scale, that he feels it discredits her experiences. He is not right, but neither was she. Also, I will try to avoid mentioning real life parallels as much as possible. I'd rather not offend someone over a real life experience because we're talking about fake green people.
  18. So, in short, she's more successful than him, and while he is not as successful, he still does so to the general safety of others around him due to various efforts, including machines and other training (yoga, etc). Am I incorrect in any of this?
