This is NOT in an area with crazy land value. We're talking hood-adjacent while still being relatively safe. Only moved in because if I tried to get a house today I'd be paying it off until I'm in my 70s (if I can even maintain a good income that long). This is the only place I have a right to own outright (it was my moms). House IS very spacious though. I'll give it that.

Welp... moved in to my house finally. -IRS tax returns on my mom's back taxes came back and the penalties are doubling the amounts. I have to call the IRS (yay) to see if I can get those taken off. I'm looking at around 12K without penalties, and the penalties shoot things closer to 20K. -There are leaks downstairs I have to see about. -A/C is no replacement for central air, I'm too spoiled I guess. So central air will have to come in at some point. I am almost a vampire in the rooms without A/C. -A number of big ticket appliances (like the furnace and the washer) are noisy and may have to be replaced. I hope it gets better, but so far this is feeling like the dumbest financial move I've made. Once I consider the new bills replacing old bills, It's not like I'm saving that much on rent. It would take multiple years of rent I'm not paying to make back the costs of moving in.

I think this current thread is interesting so far, but I don't have much hope. It mostly seems like a flimsy way to keep things the way they are while throwing some change in. That has to be it. Elon has his yes-men and yes-fans, but he's been just fucking up Twitter since he got it. I say that as someone who just got into twitter right before he bought it. I don't care one blink for Takeda, but he at least looks good in line with his earlier design. Ermac's design is just trash. I'm one to reserve judgment until I have the game in my hands, but I know right here and now I'm not getting used to that shit. That second costume better slap. I just don't get it. To me MK11 and 12 (so far) have great designs for the characters. They're banging out good designs for characters I don't even care about like that. But I had such a visceral reaction when I realized THAT was Ermac. They didn't fumble the ball; they threw that shit into a lava pit. For real. To each their own, but I don't see how ANYONE can compare MK11 Ermac (who died in the Krypt) to this design and prefer this one. They should have just did something with MK11 Ermac.

Me looking at that Ermac design: FOR REAL, what the fuck is that? They had something almost perfect with MK11's design they didn't use anywhere but the Krypt. Why not tweak that and bring it over? I didn't even know that was Ermac until the end. Thought it was some horror dude I didn't know. It's strange to feel this strongly about a character I haven't mained since 2011-2013, but man. Design wise he has been gutter trash since then.

LOTS of lottery winners end up broke because either they themselves can't handle money or they have their whole city and family tree coming to them for a handout in various ways. Even if you try to manage the money good, there can still be scammers out there in the legal field. I hope whoever won doesn't blow it. That's generational money.

The most I'll tolerate even in that vein is high heat in Hades. I got to 34, but it was whupping my ass so hard I legit wonder why I even did it at the end.

Crazy that 2023 is both the best and worst year for movies we've had in a bit. Best for the fans because plenty of good shit got released this year. Horrible for studios because only the cream of the crop is making enough money to make back these big ass budgets.
