There's hot, and there's " got in a fender bender 'cause you were studying her every frame of motion" hot. She's obviously the latter.

Oh and in other news, although it had it moments Venom was a friggin' mess of a film...

Another one that might be a bit controversial-- One Piece.  I've mentioned it before many times... I just can't get past the look of that show.  I've tried on several occasions...but the designs are so hideous it's actually distracting.  The designs on just about all characters in that are PURE ass.  They just look....goofy and stupid...and in the worst possible ways.  At least there is some noticeable effort and thought put into it, unlike bottom-tier shit you see on Adult Swim in the past several years, like 12 oz. Mouse....but still, that shit is ugly... possibly the ugliest popular anime in history, at least in my opinion.

I know the character designs for one piece are an acquired taste, especially early on in the series, but some designs are actually cool.

Costumes in SF4 got pretty big/weird too -- doesn't bother me that much honestly.  Tekken costumes can get pretty crazy visually also.

I don't mind form fitting costumes but when the design becomes asynchronous with the actual character model I think it becomes an issue when deciphering spacing. I don't think it matters as much in Tekken due to the perspective and aspect ratio.

  4. While I enjoyed Luke Cage season 2, I think it tried to do too much with the characters and plot. Bushmaster was awesome with a solid balance between being a menacing wild dog and a relatable guy. I have to give props to the effort the faux-Jamaican cast doing their best to come off convincingly "Jamaican", but I think the whole thing with the...

    Spoiler

Mariah Dillard's daughter turning  matricidal and "evil" and Luke being angry and morally ambiguous for seemingly no real reason felt meh. Also the forced chemistry between Luke and Danny didn't go as well as Marvel was probably trying to do, it simply fell flat for me. To be honest, the whole angle of leaving villains a chance to escape and keep killing innocent people thing is getting old.   Luke doesn't have to be a cold blooded killer, but a simple leg snap or arm break can go a long way in stopping them from doing more  harm. This finger wagging BS after wading through a sea of enemies shtick just seems nonsensical.

With the Punisher for example, the antagonists had to build sufficient distance between Frank because they knew the outcome of a confrontation would not be pretty. This made the scenes have a stronger sense of tension and also more realistic.

I'm really starting to think the whole 13 episode format these writers are being forced into hinders them from doing a well paced story. They preemptively end a major plot point only to start weak subplots near the end that often feels forced and contrived.

Speaking of which, I just started watching Iron Fist season 2 and I'm already disappointed. Villains with childish motivations and soap opera-like drama. I think they should force the actor who plays Danny  to always wear a disguise or mask in major fight scenes so that a competent fighter can replace him for most of the action scenes, because he's hardly improved since last season. He can't use the excuse of not having ample time to learn the choreography anymore.

Just a personal reminder on why The Punisher is definitely my favorite Netflix Marvel series.

  5. Woot! It's my birthday today. It's funny how now that I'm in my early thirties I kind of dread the days approaching to my birthday, but then I feel appreciative of all the experiences that led me to this point. I think with work, school and other responsibilities in our lives we start to take living for granted and zone out to the tragedies and maladies that have affect our fellow man on a daily basis.

Heh... I guess I'm getting more contemplative as I get older...

So how big a gap exists between the manga and the anime right now?

Still can't decide whether I want to read or watch this.

Read it, the anime is only good up until ~300 episodes or so but then Toei started catching up to the manga and drastically lowered both the production quality and the storytelling by drawing out 1 chapter's worth of content into 2 episodes through lazy embellishments of certain scenes.

  7. The tits look pretty nice but I can't shake the fact that she might have one of these hidden, obese pear-shaped bodies that totally cancels out the boobage due to larger proportions.

For example, Rio Natsume may have a comparatively smaller bust size, but due to her cartoonish feminine proportions looks more impressive:

Hey am I the only one that kept seeing her as Faith Evans. It got really weird why Faith was one of the musical acts at Harlem's Paradise.

I'm pretty sure she portrayed Faith Evans in a movie, possibly a made-for-tv movie.

Simone Missick's boobs are one of the many reasons I like watching Luke Cage. Even when they dress her modestly on the show the power of those sweaterpuppies are just too great!

On another note-- I had a lucid dream last night... the thing that fascinates me is that moment when you realize a dream while it's still going on.  I was at home in the dream, but then realize the ceilings, walls and other stuff were wrong... which for some reason gave me the idea I might be dreaming.  To test the theory, I decided to "super-jump" and hover near the ceiling....sure enough it worked, proving my assumption to be correct.  So I went on to just fly around in whatever large building that was...it was fun as usual... then I tried out super-speed as well since I figured it would be boring to waste a lucid dream on just flying around.  This was disappointing though, as for some reason I wasn't as fast as in other dreams....but now I regret not getting much more creative with the situation [time travel, cloning myself, warping reality, etc...some things I've done before in a lucid dream from years ago], since anything goes in Dreamland.

Lucid dreams are the absolute best! As a teenager I used to have them very often, then suddenly they stopped once I reached 17 or so. I remember my first distinct lucid dream, it started off as a regular dream where I was on foot being chased by some silhouetted biker dude riding a Harley over an empty bridge in the middle of the night, then for some strange reason I started to realize none of this made sense and the entire scene just shattered...  and I was floating in a void. Then I just started creating whatever popped up in my head and flew around in the sky that looked out of a Reading Rainbow intro.

Subsequent lucid dreams were mundane stuff like me dreaming up my own MVC2 arcade with a setting similar to my mall's arcade at the time and practicing Ironman's infinite over and over and over ("Hut Hoot Huh HAH!") and I could strangely feel  the button taps and the timing. (which also shows how insanely obsessed I was with Marvel back then) Truth be told I did see an improvement in my combo skills lol

Once I was acclimated to recognizing my dream state I soon realized that there is practically NO LIMIT to what you can do in a lucid dream. The best example is one time I created an entire city styled like a much cleaner NYC; with people doing everyday stuff- traffic, subway, flora/ fauna and even sewer systems, all moving about in "real time" so to speak, and it all felt real but just tad bit "brighter" visually. But that wasn't the craziest part, the really confounding thing is that I could see the city overhead in isometric view, and on ground level and even subterranean level simultaneously!

It wasn't like a split screen view either, I was experiencing multiple points of space at the same time, in weird indescribable layers without confusion. It wasn't mentally taxing at all, hell, I didn't even feel the slightest bit overwhelmed. I wasn't even micromanaging the flow of the city but yet cars were stopping at red lights and people were having coherent conversations at cafes and all that stuff. I could pick a random person to focus on like a guy in a suit walking to work and sort of shadow them like a spectre.  My only guess as to how the brain can even do something this amazing is that when you're asleep a lot of the mental processing our neural network devotes in our awake state (depth perception, ambient noise filtering, tactile sensing) can be allocated towards something like this.

  10. Out of boredom I decided to watch a pilot to a terribad CW fantasy-themed show called "The Outpost". And yes, I DO NOT recommend you watch this garbage. However, one of the motivations to even take a gander at it was the show's star the elvish Jessica Green from Tasmania:

  11. Apparently her now ex-boyfriend pro-gamer FaZe Censor dumped Yanet Garcia to focus on Call of Duty.

    Spoiler

A professional YouTube star has caused waves online by dumping a woman dubbed "the world's sexiest weather girl", so he could focus more on Call of Duty.

"For now, like, what I want in my life, at this very moment, is to compete in Call of Duty, because I love it so much," says Censor.

    Go figure.

  12. Luffy showing his new level up.

He can passively use his “Future Sight” and if you noticed he didn’t react in the same manner against the Tengu man because he clearly could sense his character.

Speaking of seeing the future, Basil “Scarecrow” Hawkins has finally made an appearance! A shrewd man like him would make an interesting adversary for Luffy, but I get the feeling he’s just buying his time to get from under Kaido’s heavy hand.

Oh and I like the new ninja girl, and the fact that she met Ace means she’s going to be integral to the story down the line. Some guy in the comments mentioned she might be the reason Ace learned how to weave hats and why he was able to make one for Oars Jr. If that’s true then Goda…
