I agree. Add that to a certain "revelation" at the end of the second episode and you have to really wonder how news travels and is retained in this galaxy. Personally I'm honestly kinda meh about this one. It's giving me fetch-quest vibes.

I put my thoughts about Top Gun: Maverick in the movie thread, but it was bittersweet. The entire time hearing the sound of the engine, feeling the rumble from the explosions, to being captivated by the team's journey, it made me think of one thing . . . "I can't wait to tell Dad how great this is". This was the moment that people told me about, the subtle one where your loved one's absence truly becomes a reality. Never in a million years would have expected Top Gun: Maverick to have got me with such a hard hit to my emotions, but here we are. I know there are going to be others, but this is one I'm going to certainly remember.

Saw Top Gun: Maverick I am going to try not to fan-gush over this one, but Tom Cruise was right. The best way to see this movie is on the big screen. It's the first movie in a while where it's the right mix of nostalgia with a sensible story to justify it's existence. It closes the loop on all things in the best way possible. If anything, it's a technical achievement in filmmaking. This is the movie to get people back into the theater. Definitely recommend seeing this one.

People consider that movie "great" for one reason only. . . The latter half is where it shines. Getting there is a bore. This is exactly the problem. The characters in that movie didn't really have anything to flesh out.

Cruz is providing another example of how to respond to a technical issue with a stupidity. Some. I've had this discussion with multiple LEOs and it comes down the three types Those that want to display power on front street. Those that needed a job and that was it. Those that are in it to do the right thing.

I've never understood the purpose of LEOs being shown as a "force to be reckoned with" if they are here to serve and protect. It's the same as when I see a number of LEOs using the Punisher logo. They fail to realize that's not how this works.

If they are pro-life, the position needs to be taken seriously. Asking for change isn't cutting it.

This was the primary reason why I didn't get a 4K player. When the PS4Pro came out, I thought they were going to throw one in, but they didn't so I just waited till the PS5 was formally announced. Coincidentally, Endgame was the first 4K disc I used with my PS5.
