SF4 was horrendously ugly from the jump, any video with it should have the ugly bastard tag on it. With that said, somehow, SFxT was even uglier. 🤢

I was thinking about how it got a unique silhouette, good visual clarity, and how it still manages to stylize and highlight the game's name while making it fairly readable. Interesting point tho.

SFV's logo is unironically the best of the lot. Next tier is: 3S, OG SF, Vanilla SF2 and Vanilla SF4. The rest is where it starts to get ugly. EX3 is a notch above though.

It may be too early to say, but the latest DB movie did it pretty well. At some point, they'll figure it out and like the jump to 3D that a lot of sprite-based FGs got, it'll be worth it in the end. Shoutouts to ArcSys. 😤

Not at all. It's pretty similar to Fight Money if you think about it. You can pay for that character or you can get it for free with in-game content. You're looking at it as a TO, and they're shelling out the extra 3 bucks so they don't deal with the hassle. What's exactly the problem here?

Iirc, you needed that shit and or/arcade mode for 21 and the Blue Saiyans. But honestly? Way to cherry pick the absolute worst example when you have other story unlocks in say, GG which is literally a movie that plays itself without any need of an input. Even if you hit the middle ground, which would be something like Blazblue, it has a rather large story, but you can easily skip through the dialogue and make it about as short as a couple of regular arcade modes. In all of those cases, you could also pay for the unlocks, which were cheaper than standard DLC characters. If you want a thoroughly fukked up example though, look no further than vanilla SF4 and Smash. Especially not Brawl. At least you could unlock all characters in GOATspace Emissary. Ultimate tho? Get fucked with no spit. 🤣 Kinda? He pretty much had no interactions with Guile and Abel, and straight up got Chiaotzu'd. Didn't even really damage Bison. Man got brought back to turn into a literal zombie after Season 1. People couldn't even really enjoy the character with how bad he got gutted. 🤣 Mandatory.

ArcSys usually has Story unlocks as a cheap DLC for those who don't wanna do it.

I don't mind that... As long as we don't get blatantly non-canon *garbage* like most of SFV's Arcade mode was. I'm still salty about that. I wouldn't mind a cinematic story on RE Engine tbh, but after A Shadow Falls, I honestly have 0 hope for SF story modes in general. 🤢
