I want games this weekend 😤 I haven't played this game enough, and I need to figure out a rambo build that I actually like. Right now I'm trying to make him into a grappler, and in theory it should work, but I need to put in the hours to get hit confirming down.

Mike Z unfortunately has the social awareness of a gnat and gained a profile where a person like that is seen as unacceptable by the public at large. It was a mix of a awkward dork getting perceived "power" and people "fearing" that power too much that they didn't tell him the shit he was doing was uncool, so it went unchecked for too long. He has a really nice Potemkin in +R tho. Also, I need to decide if I wanna actually put time into SFV until Strive or just fart around like I do now. I played a few sets with cosplayer last night and it was.... fine? I dunno. The games didn't really rollback or skip all that much, but I felt like inputs were getting eaten. Is that a thing? or am I a bigger scrub than I think I am?

They're pumping out content for SFV through all of next year, right? So SFVI in 2022. Got out of rookie last time I played (cough @Voltcough). Maybe I should gun for Silver, seems like I'll have plenty of time before the next one drops. Also have a feeling that capcom won't be dropping any fighting games between now and then. That MH and RE money too good to be messing around with these silly button bashing games

I invert if I'm flying, like in Squadrons. Everything else, I don't invert. But I don't mind if the camera controls are inverted, but can't play FPS games inverted

She loves that shit. Doesn't play any other games. She'll "play" a few games with me. We ran through Obra Dinn and The Witness together. Really any execution low, critical thinking high type game

Strive still has at least 6 months in the oven, right? And with Covid stuff, it might get delayed again, who knows. What I'm saying is, no one has played strive. Period. But this is an interesting point... Anyone have examples of games that completely changed the base mechanics so much that it doesn't feel like that game anymore?? I'd say MvCi is a pretty huge change from the rest of the MvC series... Absolutely. One of the biggest pluses of fighting games in the depth. People are still trying to develop and implement tech in 20+ year old games. If you love a game, you don't have to let it go.

Ok, I don't have a horse in this race, but I'm confused as to what's the problem here...The way I see it, they aren't trying to get comic book fans to buy this. It looks like they're more or less making Ladybird in comic book form. It wouldn't make sense if she was good looking and bubbly like her mom. They wanted to make a character that was the exact opposite of starfire. So her being fat, ugly, and queer is the conflict. Her mom has trouble relating to her and she resents her famous mom, amplified cause her mom's starfire. They'll probably stock it at the end of the aisle at barns and noble hoping kids will pick it up. The scottish guy even said it was a Young Adult novel. I'm not saying it'll be good or bad, I just don't see why anyone would be upset about this.

There's worse things to watch than all of them shows. Or maybe there isn't, i dunno, it's all your opinions, man. And opinions are like assholes, everyone blows them out after thanksgiving dinner, and sometimes you don't mind looking at one.

Yeah, areas can have some pretty subtle differences, especially at the beginning of the game. I never feel "lost" per se, but it does the "walk this way till you can't anymore" thing all the time, which I enjoy. You can get lost pretty easily before you find the cartographer, and it's wack that you have to spend a charm point to know where you are on the map. That is frustrating. HK does a pretty good job of keeping benches pretty close to boss fights, but I totally understand. The main reason I don't like Dark Souls is because of this + being able to get bodied pretty easily if you aren't careful by normal enemies. I don't really have any issues with combat outside of boss fights in HK I don't know how long you played for, but HK does have a stride to it that takes a couple hours to really figure out. Once you start filling out your map and plotting a course, it's non-stop progression. Getting to that point (and buying all the map marker upgrades) can easily turn into a chore.

I had something really similar happen, but with a twist ending. IT comes in to install some new shit on my computer, the guy sees that I have panel layouts for fightsticks saved to my desktop (print them at work, I don't have a printer at home). He asks what's that for, I tell him I build arcade controllers, mostly for fighting games, to which he says, "Like street fighter or whatever?" I ask him if he plays, he says he doesn't play fighting games, but then drops that he does play Blazblue a good bit. This coy motherfucker, if you're playing fucking BLAZBLUE, you're a fighting game player lolol

I forgot to add "souls-like" for any game that has hard boss fights and waypoints. So, uh, I guess hollow knight is that too
