  1. Hey so.... is it me or are there no crush counters in the Season 5 balance changes clips at all? What's up with that? I rewatched the Dan gameplay and there weren't any CCs either 5th Season 5 character is gonna be male. Look at past seasons - it's always 4 guys and 2 girls.
  2. Well shit Aoki collabing with Capcom is pretty cool. I actually had no idea CapCup is next week already, haven't been following Pro Tour at all throughout 2020 Rose is...looking alright I guess. I'm bothered by her hair the same way I am by Gill's - the concept art just doesn't directly translate to 3D as well. I think her SF4 hair looked much better. Soul Satellite being a V-skill is probably the most unexpected moment. You'd think it would be a V-Trigger but no. Still gotta see her Super too. She's clearly unfinished in general in this footage, like her shading isn't done completely yet. Her stage is beautiful but maybe should've been a bit more colorful. The Alpha original version was very bright time of day wise Dan's voice acting just annoying as ever lmao, but he's so fucking wacky in this game now. He's actually kinda OD if you really think about it. And another character that completely shits on Ryu. Dan might just be top-3 shoto, unironically. I do a bit hate how his animations are a tad too "awkward", IMO Capcom found a better balance between him being a self-taught yet experienced martial artist V-Shift is pretty sick however. But I can't help but laugh at how Capcom one by one brought advanced mechanics from SF4 and either turned them into a character-specific element or via another method. So now everybody has a meter-based invul backdash. Alternatively you could look at this like Dudley's sway back punch or Slayer's pilebunker. I do like how wild V is getting by the end of its life. Gotta wait to see them patchnotes now, pray for the low tiers. Place your bets who switches places with current top characters since it's a pretty much yearly tradition for this game
  3. The real irony right here They literally make female SF characters and their costumes cater to all kinds of fetishes but then prohibit people from doing the same ??????
  4. French Bread actually have confirmed they're working in implementing it, but the process is taking a long time. So there's hope at least
  5. Starting to feel that ArcSys only do these crossover fighting games so they build up a solid portfolio of collaborations, become a more popular name in the industry, and inherently shine a brighter spotlight on their original IPs (BlazBlue and Guilty Gear) to help them sell more copies just by virtue of being better known among general gaming crowd. FighterZ was already a massive push in that regard and I see the mentions of ArcSys more in more in recent years
  6. KOFXV actually looks decent. Just goes to show how with a simple magic of shaders (it's not actually simple) a game's visual element can transform into something completely different yet same. And the best part is it seems that SNK are more or less reusing character model assets from XIV, which probably saved them a lot of devtime (although Kyo's might be entirely new since he also has a different face from the lifeless cosplayer in the previous game) Not sure how to feel about all the motion blur and depth of field shit going on, it's very reminiscent of how SFV approaches character intros. And speaking of intros it seems like they're also precanned just like most fighting games these days. I hope they at least keep the mid-round animatons like the iconic Iori laugh Special effects look awesome. Hair texturing - not so much. Looks kinda clay-ish Love the more vibrant color scheme for the game too. XIV looks increedibly pull, like MVCI-dull, and that was never historically a thing in SNK titles, fighting or otherwise. Sure, they might've had "darker" stages like the NESTS complex stuff in 2000-2002, but the colors still jumped at you, especially through the arcade cabs. No mention of gameplay mechanics, roster size, netplay or a concrete release date (just 2021), so maybe we'll get more on that next week with the new trailer. The fact that they're porting KOF2002UM with rollback to PS4 makes me hope they've realized just how important netpplay is for their games. I mean it's cool they're still supporting SamSho (Hibiki best girl), but that game is fucking D E D online, and it's unfortunate the monetary and time investment required to upgrade that game's netcode to something better isn't worth at this rate. Maybe if they'll do some kind of a nextgen rerelease. But I think it's pretty safe to assume most of XIV's characters will make it back into XV. We saw Kyo got fixed, so there's hope for Andy, Kim, Ryo, Mature, and maybe Terry. Iori, Clark, Athena, Kensou could use a redesign from their XIV selves. ALSO GIVE KIM HIS PANTS BACK I think that's about it. If the plans are on track and the team doesn't face any further issues during development, then KOFXV and GGSTrive are looking to be the only two major fighting game releases for this year. Maybe DnF Duel but the initial reveal just said "coming soon" so it may very well be a 2022 game. Other than that - DOA7 isn't happening any time soon, MK11 is still alive and doing well, SF6 isn't coming until 2023-2024 at the earliest, Injustice 3 is still ways off, Persona 5 Arena is a myth, it's too soon for Tekken 8, Soulcalibur has only recently received its final Season 2 character for SC6, so.... That pretty much leaves UNIEL (but French Bread tend to release major updates for that game every 1.5-2 years) and BlazBlue (no news about Cross Tag or a mainline entry yet)
  7. Place your bets - will SNK save KOF this coming thursday?
  8. Hey y'all Sorry for popping up here so rarely anyways wish you guys a happy new year and hope all your wishes/resolutions come to fruition have a good one
  9. I've finished Vice City the other day and immediately went for Vice City Stories, and... honestly I think these two games were the last time Rockstar have created a truly memorable and easy to navigate environment in a GTA Game Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the detail and effort that went into recreating New York for 3, Liberty City Stories and 4, and Los Angeles for San Andreas and 5, but man without a map/radar for the life of me I cannot navigate those cities proper and half the time I have no fucking idea where I am going, especially in 3 with its lack of icons for basic stuff like Ammunation and PnP Vice Ciy, on the other hand, despite having 2 big island and 2 mini-island, as well as two different layouts between VC and VCS, is much simpler to drive around with clearly defined and easily identifiable areas In San Andreas the only area I can more or less find my way around just by looking at the damn screen is Grove Street and its nearby surroundings, like think immediately across the bridge, the stadium, and the train station where you go to the lowrider battle
  10. Hell at this point THQ might as well start their own console. Call it literally The Nord or some shit They have so many studios and franchises under the wing that they could fill the library with exclusives for years to come
  11. I literally said dmc5 trish's real life model is pretty, idk what more do you want
  12. For what it's worth I'm not a fan of Trish's DMC4 design either, she looks fucking ridiculous in that game. Lady also got a boob job for no reason but other than that she had a cool costume DMC1 Trish remains best to this day despite having the least polygons
  13. Trish's face model is pretty in real life. Trish herself in the game looks like an old hag trying to do a cosplay wearing a corset that wasn't made for saggy tits
  14. I'm kinda afraid of them touching graphics now since they'd use RE Engine again and DMC5 is bland as fuck with incredibly boring level design, they'd completely strip the game of color and its creepy Resident Evil-ish atmosphere, as well as make Trish ugly, again just like in DMC5 As far as gameplay goes I'd only like a minor speed up for the combat/animations and tone down the whirly shit when you switch weapons, give us the QOL update from later games where you can just toggle between devil arms using L2 and R2, be it a limit of two at a time or cycling through everything like in 4 Also add a Trish mode like the secret unlockable in DMC2 But really though I'd rather Capcom just remake DMC2 and do that game justice. The original has a solid foundation, it just needed faster gameplay, weapon upgrades to actually mean anything, and more interesting boss encounters where guns don't just do the job for you
  15. Capcom leak huh..so... is SF6 real? Whens mahvel? How are Darkstalkers doing? Will there be a Dead Rising 5 or Lost Planet 4? Will we hear about that Residen Evil 4 remake soon? Are they remaking DMC1 to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary next year? MegaMan 12 anyone? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS
  16. So yesterday I completed a playthrough of GTA3 for the first time. Did a total of 61 of 73 missions, although I usually don't bother with "collectibles" like unique jumps, hidden packages and the like. Despite obviously being a massive step for the franchise and open world games in general, 3 is...kinda rough. I found its mission design to be somewhat basic and less interesting compared to 2, controls don't feel all that smooth, completing missions gives you so much money you're probably never gonna run out of cash for weapon restock, cars tend to slide a lot and barely have HP, and it's very annoying how I failed several missions just because I happened to be driving through a gang controlled district since there's no "karma"/respect system like 2 meaning all of them will attack you on sight. Mafia is equipped with shotguns which more often than not will basically oneshot your car, and of course the "story" is more like a checkbox here It's kind of incredible how much of an improvement Vice City is from 3 - character and cars controls are more snappy, soundtrack is miles ahead, mission design is much more varied, there's an actual ongoing narrative, polygon counts are higher across the board, the city and the game as a whole is beautiful, there's an actual map in the Pause menu, there are many more markers on the map (most importantly for ammunation and paynspray), and travelling across Vice City is easier too since there aren't any tunnels so the entire map is on sort of "same height/level" if that makes sense
  17. Random hypothetical: Sega drops a hint on Twitter. You can kinda deduce what it's for but can't say for sure. All we have is the date The date comes. Sega representatives hold a 30-minute event talking about the company's past endeavours, and then the big news come: Dreamcast Mini - CVS2 - DOA2 - Garou MotW - Guilty Gear X - KOF 2000 - KOF 2002 - MVC2 - MK4 Gold - Project Justice - Soulcalibur - SF Alpha 3 - Second Impact - Third Strike - Last Blade 2 - Virtua Fighter 3 Summer 2021, 69.99$ Deal or no deal?
  18. EA Play only covers current generation. It doesn't include titles from PS2 era and earlier. What Tubb is asking for is e.g. Sega Ultimate Collection but available in one spot as a streaming service. All the retro shit.
  19. It can actually keep a ping pong ball afloat, which is kinda neat lol
  20. Speaking of noise I really will need to also grab a Super Slim PS3. My FAT model works mostly fine but man is it noisy, and its disc drive is pretty worn out.
  21. So anybody in here grabbed a PS5 yet? How are currentgen (or I guess it's pastgen now?) fighting games performing on the damn thing?
  22. Finished the first playthrough of DMC2 as Dante today It's obviously a weak game but surprisingly not as bad as I expected it to be. Still quite a miracle what Itsuno's team has managed to scrap together from the remains of in-development DMC2 after Kamiya's departure from Capcom Guns are hella OP, like why even bother with melee weapons at all
