  1. so kojima finally gets to do what he actually wanted all these years - truly cinematic experiences Death Stranding would've worked so much better as a movie or a season-long TV series than whatever the fuck the game actually was. Skip all the amazon delivery boy shit and just get to the story elements
  2. Praying SNK can iron out the rollback issues by release it's good that they were aware of it prior to the beta, but still worrying the issue exists at all. So far out of the four JP FG devs that tried impmenenting technology, Arcsys are the only ones who got it right on first iteration Capcom, SNK (thus far), and French Bread all have issues of some kind. Still though, the game is 3 months away from launching so we'll see how it goes. But regardless the game will live or die by its netplay
  3. So uh... that happened huh basically same trailer as a year ago with sorta more refined visuals? I hope we still get more news like the actual explanation behind the mechanics and an approximate release date next month since that's typically when neople do a con of theirs

Bruh it's unbelievable how much of a blowup the GTA "remasters" are EVERYTHING is fucked up - boats are faster - car handling is different - swimming is faster - air vehicle controls are messed up on PC - the rain effect is a screen space overlay which can show up even when you're standing under a roof - character models are all terrible (e.g. Rosenberg in vice city, Asuka being crosseyed in III, Pulaski in San Andreas) - all the classic glitches and bugs are left unchanged and some even were brought over from the mobile versions - consoles and PCs alike are suffering perfomance issues even on top end systems - the graphics are in general just shit save for higher res textures on the buildings, cars and weapons - intro cutscenes in SA and III have massive framerate drops and more all of this on top of the other drama like the incompetent devs leaving vital internal files that are now leaked all over the internet, server issues meaning paying customers could not access the games they paid for throughout the 72-hour period after "launch", and issuing DMCA takedows to fanmade mods that not only improve the original PC versions from two decades ago but are also clearly doing a better job than these hacks it's kind of hilarious how the PS2 versions from the 2000's are arguably still the best way to play all 5 games

  6. A bit disappointed that this supposedly big October patch won't come paired with a brand new character. Feels like they should've spaced out Goldlewis and Jacko more. Goldlewis coming out this soon after launch also pretty much hints that he was done by the time the game shipped and was held intentionally to be sold as DLC. Typical fighting game strats really. And if the roadmap sees no changes, then no new DLC charas will be available until 2022
  7. thankfully most of the IPs represented in Smash are from other Japanese studios so I don't think much will disappear over time. I could see Snake and Simon being gone because Konami is Konami, and Steve being gone due to Nintendo and Microsoft not renegotiating their deal for the character's inclusion. Also Joker because Atlus can be fucking dumb like that sometimes. everyone else is stuff like Sonic, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, or Nintendo's own properties and franchises, which means overwhelming majority of Ultimate's cast are safe and sound and they can just backport the assets to future entries while upresing the models. also as long as Bandai Namco remain involved with the game's production their properties will also retain a slot, so all the Tekken stuff is safe for now

  10. I'd argue it's still rough. Apparently the PS3 consoles are still affected by the CMOS battery issue which means when Sony shuts down the PSN servers for it and the battery dies - people won't be able to play *any* games there period, neither physical nor digital. And there are HUNDREDS of games that still did not, and never will, receive a remaster. Even among sony's own first party lineup like Warhawk, Motorstorm 1-3, inFamous 1-2, Killzone 2-3, Folklore, and more I get that they're placing the bets on PS Now, but the thing is - at the end of the day you're still just streaming, you're reliant on a fast and stable internet connection, the licenses for the library will eventually start to run out (like how some games have already disappeared from GeForce Now and iirc GamePass), and it's basically PS3-hardware servers running the whole thing so you're not getting any enhanced experiences playing those titles, and boy PS3 is notorious for dealing with engines like UE3 poorly It's a shame that Sony being overly ambitious with the CPU inside that big black box ended up fucking them over longterm so now we'll probably never see an official PS3 emulator running on PS5 or PS6 or any future Sony platforms.

I can personally only accept the removal of EX moves (for one game) if SF6 goes back to Alpha-style gameplay: - shorter combo - no V-ism - Hyper Alpha 3 parries or standard Alpha Counters - no dashing - multiple Supers by default - no EX - Air blocking - super fast walkspeeds - definitely nerf Rose and Sakura - maybe add heavier damage scaling if they do custom combos but since most would see this as a regression from SFV's mechanics (and I certainly don't see Capcom going that back in the Street Fighter timeline after everything that happened in V's story), then 6 but without EX entirely would just be weird. Especially when EX moves in DBFZ, KOF, MKX, MK11, and Cross Tag are so fun

  13. nobody asked but time for a shit take - Bayo 3 design could use some improvements. She has way too much makeup going on and the long tail is a bit too much on top of the braided twin tails The skirt also doesn't serve any functionality since Bayo is wearing a bodysuit - it's not like there will be pantsushots even when she uses her powers Other than that she looks alright, the leg windows are greatly appreciated

  15. I think the 3D titles have too many sequences where they take the control away from the player to show some sick camera angle. And they still do that auto-lock-on to strike enemies and to platform around while you're not running at full speed. When those games just say "go" and let you control and see Sonic be fast as af
