David Jaffe's been spewing dumb shit for several years now, this is just another addition to the list Frankly I don't know why he even has any following still - in the last decade his accomplishments were releasing two garbage games and then making a podcast where he sometimes drops insider knowledge/game leaks

So guys, as we're winding down with 2021 and look forward to whatever news 2022 shall bring about the next installment, how is everyone feeling in regards to the story in SF6 now that we know Luke is supposedly going to play a big (potentially protagonistic) role in its events? Are they trying to fix the failure of Alex being the poster boy of SF3 by putting Luke into the spotlight? The kid is giving me sort of Sean vibes with how his animations display his lack of experience with martial arts (eg losing stance stability after the lariat and that awkward DP), so maybe he'll become Ryu's second protege now that Sakura is kinda being done with fighting having settled down with a job at a local arcade?

  8. What would really shatter expectations is completely unusual team compositions, and unfortunately XV doesn't have a lot of those thus far. Things are kinda straightforward and traditional Almost feels like the expectation shattering refers to the online experience rather than roster picks

This game is kinda funny you have tools to pin people down but can't grab during their blockstun you have shit like Inqui's wheel and Kuno's firestorm but no crossup because of the block button Kuno has a teleport but you can't go behind opponents for a left/right mix you have guard cancel to get out of pressure and avoid being guard broken but apparently it just sucks and isn't worth the meter you have a roll to close the distance towards charas like ranger and vanguard but it's hella unsafe and you can be punished on recovery, plus it doesn't travel all that far you can keep people away with half the cast yet no mobility options like a super jump or an air dash which will result in very skewed matchups there are no universal/a lot of unique overheads so the threat of a high/low mix isn't prevalent either, just hold downback you're supposed to go on the offensive but characters have slow walkspeeds and they build momentum really slowly in forward dash (unless you're Kunoichi who runs super fast) afaik throws don't have a whiff animation (please correct me if I'm wrong here, haven't seen any) and backwalk speeds aren't high so you can't shimmy for a natural strike/throw mix Of course I fully expect the game to change in many ways come second beta in a few months but... yeah some design decisions are strange
  10. 3 new characters confirmed for DNFD Ghostblade (m Slayer), Troubleshooter (another Agent), and Mechanic (f Gunner) Release date is next Summer, so about 7-8 months away to fill out the roster, polish the game up, all that stuff Pretty safe to say we'll have at least one more beta next year, though there's no telling whether they'll have the full roster again like the current one I'm expecting another 3-4 characters to be revealed in the coming months, one of whom will be DLC and similarly to Beelz - free for season pass owners/pre-orders

  12. Yes. They're gonna gut her corner pressure, meaning, like I said, they'll kill the character. She's got nothing else going on, it's her entire gameplan - make you block, then bully you with the wheel and burning liquid

  15. I have a very strong feeling that ArcSys are nerfing inqui after this beta, which will essentially kill of the character
  16. add a universal airdash and/or give grappler a dp, or else he'll be bottom tier like soriz in gbvs
  17. walkspeeds, dashes and jumps seem so slow a bit disappointed there are no airdashes unless you play dragon knight (and even then it costs meter) can you at least block directionally?
  18. it seems like there are command "specials" which are done with direction + S button then the actual specials that work like Granblue (direction or motion + MP button) from the movelist it seems that the latter consume MP, hence the name of the category. The gameplay loop here is you land S moves to generate MP for MP moves what's unclear to me are the mentions of Awakening state. So everybody has an install sort of? And supers are one button too?
