  1. the Politics and SF Lore threads will probably remain the only semi-active ones now that SRK has reopened but I fully expect the Cannon Bros (or whoever handles the place now) to considerably clean the whole thing up by the time Project L launches. Can't have all the League normies read on the wild shit that NA FGC members posted there back in the day
  2. yo so... Kirby is actually going 3D for the first time in franchise's history? that's pretty damn cool. At the very least I have higher hopes of Nintendo pulling off the transition better than Sega ever did with Sonic yes I think 3D sonic games are kinda wack and don't "get it" in regards to the series
  3. didn't see this posted here but looks like we'll finally get proper gameplay impressions from players starting this Thursday this probably won't be livestreamed or filmed in any way but at least we can expect twitter threads with system changes and whatnot
  4. my condolences to your loss man My grandma also passed away almost a month ago, fucking shittiest feeling in the world to lose such a close relative. Still can't believe there's now a permanently empty and dark room that used to be busy pretty much all day long while she was watching some tv shows or listening to her favourite music or rewatching classic Soviet era cinema
  5. I think I'll try posting around here more often. Got so attached to SRK to the point it was my habit to visit the forum daily and so far I'm still getting used to this place. but at least all y'all SRKBros are here so that's good to know
  6. and now they have their own chips just to flip the bird to Sammy and Intel
  7. shiiiet the loading screen/versus screen theme music is fire. Looks like melty will have a great soundtrack
  8. I guess that makes sense. Capcom will probably switch most if not all their titles to RE Engine eventually including Street Fighter and it has shown to work rather well event on previous generation (iirc Resi 2, Resi 3, Resi 7 all run at 60fps there?) I'm mostly wondering about the launch date (still placing the bet on 2023 for the franchise's 35th anniversary) and if Capcom further improves their own rollback implementation after MVCI I'm also in a dilemma of buying any existing or new games from PS4 considering most of them are seeing significant load time and general perfomance improvements when running on PS5, but I'm not planning on getting a PS5 until at least 2023. The price here for it right now is just insane, you can't get it anywhere else consistently due to stock shortages, and all the previous PlayStation consoles were a birthday gift my backlog is gigantic and I also don't really fancy the current PS5 design all that much. Maybe Sony rolls out a Slim model in a few years or something
  9. Have Capcom mentioned anything about Luke's release date since his reveal trailer dropped? We're almost in October and they still have yet to step into the nextgen consoles with their fighting game department. I'd assume they're also doing a big balance patch and a final *final* rerelease of SFV with everything that came out after Champion Edition for like 40-45$
  10. this character looks pretty sick (shitty fire particle effects aside) guess I have a main in Melty now
  11. bruh they better not shaft my boy Alex out of the protagonist role with that quote about Luke having a prominent role in the story going forward, and having a bright future in the series as a whole inb4 Capcom still pusses out and just *slightly* moves the timeline forward from V to 6 instead of going a full on 3 retelling/remake
  12. Luke's design is mega wack his animations are mostly okay moveset looks cool tho, it's like a faster Charlie style zoning with one-handed booms Akira seems mad fucking fun, holy shit Oro just nukes your ass in his super, that's godlike also Akira swimsuit costume...uuhh Capcom what are you doing
  13. Man.... I'm usually not the kinda guy to be all doom and gloom but this E3 was seriously bad. It doesn't help at all that Sony have moved away from the event, and EA delayed their big showcase by a whole month. Microsoft and Nintendo pretty much carried the whole thing Although I do want to admit that Day of the Devs, IGN Expo, Guerilla Collective, Wholesome Direct and Future Games Showcase had a crapton of interesting indies. Unfortunately however the industry can't be sustained by indies alone, and the AAA showcases were piss poor Capcom, TakeTwo, Gearbox, Bandai, Square - why even do their own pressers at all? Nothing they showed couldn't have been included into other presentations with multiplatform titles. Hell, TakeTwo's wasn't even about fucking games in the first place. Gearbox boiled down to the Homeworld 3 reveal and some cringy chatter with Pitchford about the Borderlands movie Also as per usual Devolver are the true MVPs who lowkey shit on the games industry by the virtue of ridicule of its most recent trends oh and of course the guys over at Limited Run - NOBODY expected Plumbers Don't Wear Ties to get a release lmao I understand this is mostly result of corona fucking things up for everybody last year, but man... the 2021 iteration of e3 still was a massive downgrade compared to the previous events. I guess I can at least thank the ESA for getting the band together so to speak, cuz imagine how shitty these showcases would've been if they were just solo events
  14. isn't this exactly what people want? KOFXIV but in a prettier wrapping (and now with hopefully better online)?
  15. June 1st, 2021 - Sega launches a remaster of a 2006 game with seemingly zero netcode improvements yet already on milking the shit out of it via an esports circuit, DLC, and merch June 8th, 2021 - ArcSys launch a brand new entry in a near 25-year old franchise with amazing netcode which allows people across atlantic ocean play vs each other with next to no issues unless one of the people is on WiFi yeah I see nothing suspicious or wrong with this
  16. graphics are worse voice acting is much lower quality doesn't have syphonic orchestral soundtrack random encounters are removed in favor of overworld monsters the only plus of that release is being able to recruit Red to the party
  17. a bad habit of mine tend to say sorry a lo, only for the person I'm talking to to say "it's okay, chill out" My stupid brain just automatically assumes something I said was dumb as af so I preemptively apologize
  18. Sup bois shit I can't even count how many pages of lore discussion I've missed out on. Has to be ~300 on SRK and another 15 here. But glad to see the talk is still going on Of course we still have Oro, Akira and whoever's last Season 5 character is, but it's a bit sad knowing the additional characters that made it into the game since Season 2 have no effect on the main overarching story present in vanilla SF5, so here's hopes Capcom have learned a thing or two and can make SF6's story mode a more coherent experience
  19. Another dragon quest centric event, another time to raise hopes for a Dragon Quest 8 HD remaster. No, I don't consider the 3DS or mobile rerelease that. They're wack.
  20. So here's a mega dumb question (and this prolly isn't the best place to ask anyway) but do you guys ever get stuck in this apology loops when talking to girls? Like for example I'm chatting online/talking to one in real life, everything's cool, just having fun. Then I say something which I felt was dumb shit, so I then apologize. The girl's now confused because what I said didn't come off as dumb shit to her, says everything is fine and to relax, so now I feel like an fucking idiot and I apologize again for saying sorry, making the conversation awkward (unless I or she changes the dicussion's direction into another topic) am I the only one like that
  21. Digital Foundry seem to have done extensive testing and haven't really encountered any issues, just minor inconsistencies in loading times between different games - some are about same, some are slower, but the difference is usually like within a margin of 2-3 seconds, so nothing quite severe. That's with SSD mind you also on topic of external storage, in the same video they did tests with a USB-connected SSD and it's insane how loading times on PS4 Pro typically are cut down almost in half
  22. Yo so what do you guys think about Project L's control scheme? Traditional inputs? Simple one-button trigger like Rising thunder? A combination of both like Granblue? Neither? also Ryo in KOF15 looks sick, he has a much better character model than in 14
  23. That's assuming they don't just toss MVCI's netcode out and start over from scrath for SF6, but using 5's netcode as baseline. SF6 and Tekken 8 are currently at the top of my watchlist for "you guys better do it right" if KOFXV's rollback implementation is shit I can at least forgive it somewhat due to being their first attempt at that netplay type, but hopefully they're receiving assistance from Code Mystics
