  1. I've never found crush counters to be annoying unless I'm fighting like Bison or someone who has ridiculously fast ones. Otherwise, they're pretty easy to counter given how slow most of them are. DI's might be a little more tricky to deal with initially. They look more similar to focus attacks in SF4 with the armor plus crumple on counterhit. I don't see DI being a long term issue though..... counter-play will develop just like with FA in SF4. .
  2. Only got a small taste of SF6 on Friday but from what I played it seemed fun. There is a ton of depth to the drive meter I actually completely forgot about EX moves entirely and spent most of my gauge on drive rush, drive impact and parry. Looking forward to nailing some perfect parries once the game comes out. Ended up playing Jamie for the little time I had with the game. He has a lot of tools that just wouldn't be allowed in street fighter V: a divekick, long range cancelable cr.mk/st. mk and rekkas. Fun character. Netcode is rock solid, only had one bad connection in 3 hours and we both just opted out of the match. Now I really need them to announce another beta ASAP.
  3. I got into the beta but it's bittersweet because I have to travel this weekend so I'll only be able to play it briefly on Friday.
  4. What else is funny is that Cody and Karin, two pretty strong characters, both lose to FANG. And I've heard other people say their character loses to FANG as well. If all these characters lose to FANG then is he really that bad? It's like the Honda syndrome where he beats everyone but is still low tier somehow.
  5. SFIV Sim was irrelevant because you could focus through his limbs, plus there were a bunch of characters with aerial options like dive kicks that could absolutely wreck him. If you remove Luke then SFV Sim is basically the best character in the game, since he can both rushdown and zone + escape with Vshift, he's extremely frustrating to fight. Due to the nature of the character he's usually really good or really bad, but I'm hoping they find a middle ground for him in SF6. Some of the drive rush pressure with limbs looks scary but he might need that meter for defensive options like parry and drive reversal. Just hope he's better balanced this time.
  6. Kizzie intends to compete in SF6 so it probably will matter if it's indeed illegal. What does that button do anyway?
  7. I kind of came to terms with a Spring release a while ago. I'm down with it because I know they're going to fine tune SF6 to perfection. No more repeats of SFV launch.
  8. I wonder what the Ultimate pass is? Whatever it is I'm buying it lol.
  9. Super top tiers like our good friend Luke? I realized I'll probably never be at the level where switching from Karin to Luke is going to make me better and the difference isn't THAT much anyway. I'd much rather just power through with what I know. It's been pretty unfortunate that basically everyone switched to him. Watching SFL Japan and seeing Bonchan, Tokido, Fujimura, Nauman, Yamaguchi and Mago all playing Luke is kind of ridiculous. CPT NA just had a Luke mirror in Grand Finals. When is SF6?
  10. Twitter is alright, had to sign up as it seemed like the only way to get a PS5. I think the key is to just lurk and not to engage with people.
  11. Character design seems to be what draws people in at first, I know it certainly does for me. After that I check their moveset and gamestyle. I tend to choose characters that lean more toward rush down but also can play the mid range, ex. preferring Yang over Yun. I use Karin and Cody in V who are more footsie oriented but can rush down. In SF6 I'm looking at Jamie because he has a lot of similarities to SF4 Yang. I've played enough SF over the years to know what I will like sometimes even before trying the character. And then there's other games like GG Strive where I don't gel with anyone and spend months trying to find a main.
  12. Max thinks there's a chance that Cammy could be announced at TGA and then included in the beta as a bonus character. Might be a long shot, but there's a chance...
  13. I think this one will be twice as large as the first given that all the previous beta players are automatically in, plus the new wave of people. Maybe they don't feel confident in an open beta yet given the presumably massive amount of people interested in the new SF. I think they also want to test the input lag reduction feature.
  14. So I registered for a Capcom ID and linked my PSN. Does that mean I'm in the lottery? This whole thing was kind of a pain in the ass.
  15. Cammy isn't bad at all in Alpha 3, she's around mid tier. ST is the only game I can think of that she's legit bad in. Her and Akuma basically get a free pass at being top tier in every game. Hell, Akuma is even busted in Tekken.
  16. Oh I know that guy, he was on an endless crusade claiming Karin was piss easy and Cammy was so difficult to play. This was during the year that Cammy was consensus number 1 in the game too. Pretty much everyone else thinks Karin is harder - not this guy though who seems to be living in his own little bubble lol.
  17. Pochoclo23's final SF5 tier list. Still weird for me seeing Cody, Ed, Juri and Ken in S tier above characters like Karin, Urien and Cammy who have been top tier throughout 5's lifespan - but here we are.
  18. Looking forward to The Game Awards. We're probably going to learn a lot about SF6 and might get a release date.
