I think the comparison about FF7 being milked as much as SF2 is a fair one. Both games have a shit load of iterations, can't be argued. However, SF2 was kind of the birth of fighting games and FF7 while amazingly popular, really only got things going in the West. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest were already hugely popular in the East. And are we just going to forget about FF4, FF6 and Chrono Trigger? All three are incredibly games on par with FF7, especially the last two.

Jamie's only plus on block normal is st.MP. Wondering how safe is rekka's/divekicks are....

I mean his favourite character is T-Hawk so technically he's out in the cold with the rest of us.

They're really going ham with the resource management.

I'm still kind of surprised by this and I don't know how it's going to work with Akuma, Cammy, or any of the fast rushdown characters with a lot of tools. They get away this in KOF because the system mechanics dictate that the characters all pretty much play the same version of each other with only slight differences. That's a team based game though, in SF6 most of the characters are unique to one another. Not saying it isn't possible, just curious how this is going to play out.

I was thinking this might be the best year for video game releases ever. SF6, New Zelda, New Diablo, FF16, Armored Core, potentially Tekken 8 and FF7 Rebirth? Shit is crazy.

Tokido made top 8 at EVO in Tekken 6. Guy is just a God of fighting games in general.

Cody's ex zonk is actually +3 on block and level 2 is +5. Yeah, kind of silly.... I'm guessing in SF6 they would make it negative on block but with enough pushback to make it safe? That seems to be the route they're taking with a lot of moves.

Making top 8 is a huge achievement and now 2 players aren't going to receive payment and or any recognition/awards. It's a pretty big step back - especially when we're trying to increase not decrease the number of players receiving prize money. Will their matches even be streamed? I get that it's a business and they're trying to fit everything in. EVO always runs late. But adjustments could be made to the schedule by having more games finish on Saturday and/or games could just start earlier in the day. Last year we were absolutely bombarded with ads that ended up wasting tons of time. I really hope this is just a one off and we can go back to top 8's in the future.

Cammy looks way better it's no contest. There's always the nostalgia costume for her classic look so I don't get why some people are crying.

According to the blog post she has Condor Dive, Condor Spire and Tomahawk Buster. Plus her level 3 is Raging Typhoon.

At least there's a side tournament for Rising. But yeah, this is pretty much SF6 The Tournament for me. First year of the new SF at EVO is always special.

Not the best lineup IMO. I thought Granblue would be there with the upcoming release of Rising. I'd like to see Samsho there as well since that game is getting a bit of a second wind with the rollback patch in the spring.

This is a nice refresher as it's been a long layoff for me. Looking to get back in the mix come spring time.

The LCQ was better and arguably had a better quality field. Just a result of COVID and the regional restrictions the way they were this year. Round robin tournaments are just not as hype as regular brackets. Still hoping we don't get a Luke mirror for Grand Finals lol.

He's amazing, seems very mature for his age. Hope he keeps it up in SF6.

Rose is the most underrated character in the game. She can zone with the best of them and her normals are absurdly good...
