You can tell that the guy wanting online tournaments basically started competing during COVID. He really doesn't seem to recognize all the benefits of offline tournaments.

And he's getting all that off a st.LK. Like Ryu in 5 also does a crapton of damage but he has to land like solar plexus to access it.

Drive reversal seems a lot less important than Vreversal in 5 since everything in 6 is negative plus there's other defensive options like parry. The only time I saw drive reversal was in that Honda/Lily match. Honda used it against Lily's condor spire because it's + and she gets free pressure afterwards.

Tokido's Akuma highlights were some of the best SFV matches. His match against' Punk's Karin in the EVO final and against Mena in the Capcom final as well (even though he lost). Tokido just needs to be on Akuma, his results with Urien and Luke haven't been the same. Looking forward to his imminent return to Akuma in 6.

Not a fan of evil shotos but I will say when done right they can be hype. Loved Daigo's Evil Ryu and Tokido's Akuma. Watching people get Raging Demon'd never gets old.

I honestly completely forgot about Akira lol. Wouldn't mind seeing her back she was a unique character with flashy stuff like those slow motion rival schools air combos. Think they could a lot of cool stuff with her in 6. Laura is interesting too but I feel like there are already a lot of female command grab characters that kind of fit her function. Down the road maybe....

What do you guys think about SF5 newcomers getting into 6? Personally I'd like to see Menat, G, and Lucia make it in at some point. I know the odds aren't great on Lucia but the other two have a decent shot I think.

I wouldn't be against it but they'd need to spice him up a bit. SF4 Fei was super boring.

Funny thing is that guy is on gamefaqs which is like the very definition of toxic.

Keep guest characters out of SF unless it's from the same universe. I'm glad Capcom has resisted the temptation not to follow in the footsteps of some of these other companies. Guest characters are a short term cash grab that hurts the game in the long run. They actually make me not want to buy the game.

Yeah I started with charge characters in 4 because I was switching to arcade stick for the first time. Started with Vega and then Bison. Charge characters are just easier than motion characters as a beginner, or as in my case switching to a new type of controller. The last charge character I played was Leona in KOF. Admittedly, I haven't played a charge character in a SF in a long time (unless you count Necalli but he was more of a hybrid than a pure charge character). It's not something I'd rule out in 6 though.

I think the comparison about FF7 being milked as much as SF2 is a fair one. Both games have a shit load of iterations, can't be argued. However, SF2 was kind of the birth of fighting games and FF7 while amazingly popular, really only got things going in the West. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest were already hugely popular in the East. And are we just going to forget about FF4, FF6 and Chrono Trigger? All three are incredibly games on par with FF7, especially the last two.

Jamie's only plus on block normal is st.MP. Wondering how safe is rekka's/divekicks are....

I mean his favourite character is T-Hawk so technically he's out in the cold with the rest of us.
