Alpha3 I love playing but cannot watch it at all. One move infinites are no bueno. 3s I love playing and watching but I'd like watching a whole lot more if it had more than 3 characters. IV I like watching as long as it isn't lame Elena or vortex loops. Not real crazy about playing either. V I neither watch nor play. 6 will do well on both I think, but man I still like Strive. -

Yeah after some training room time, a jab follow by drush after one frame will just kara directly into parry. After two frames tho, you're getting a light followed by a rush. Although, the rush cancels almost all of your light's recovery frames. It's a whiff cancel. There's still at least one recovery frame after the light is no longer active but lights have a surprising amount of whiff frames. -

Ah, the Rashid patch dropped?! Nice. EDIT apparently if you buffer rush in a light, the rush still comes out after the light even on whiff. That's a relief. No stupid OS. -

I've had people dc after the final ko. In silver. Game still saved him. And how hard up you gotta be to nope out in silver anyway. Bro you want gold that bad learn a drive rush combo it's 100x easier. -

Thanks for this. In my defense jinrai is like 12 different moves, and I didn't even know the command dash changed the properties of the followups. I'm enjoying Ken so much rn I'm considering removing the Ethernet cord. -

If they would just wholesale replace the input reader with the one from 3s that would be great. And add damage scaling to DI combos. I'm fine with it being an alternative to the lowly jab combo to get out of sticky situations, but fishing for a DI just to get a full damage combo aint it. I do like the game. Not knowing whom to main is weirdly freeing. --- Today I took Ken into ranked. Can someone explain why he's top tier despite all his specials being punishable on block? -

Lol when I said the same about DI upthread I was fresh off a couple hours of Lily in ranked. That girl... She seems like she'd be a good character to footsie around with but she's really not. Like Reticently said, she's just not allowed to push buttons. Her reward can be good but there's equivalent risk, and that's just not a stable plan for neutral. Her range seems a little less than it should be due to her small stature. MP not being cancelable, b.HP is good but it's on a back, 2HP has long total duration, 3HP looks like it's airborne but isn't, HP rekka has little range... 5MK is good but a weapon user's range is on P... And then she lacks a reversal. And command grabs aren't immune to normal grabs. And she can't divekick out of a back jump. And she needs wind stocks. -

I legit like this part. I really like the footsies in this game. Maybe it's cause I'm coming down off of Strive so "wiggle back and forth in a staredown" as cipher once put it feels refreshing but spacing traps after blockstrings feel great. Well when they're not getting exploded by DI, anyway. I'm starting to shop around for another character. Honda is killing my thumb, and I'm just not belligerent enough to go full sumo. So here we go again. Who to main, who to main... -

Maybe, but if the playerbase becomes the usual bell curve then that's probably where a large percent of players will be living. -

No no, that's the thing. They ARE on the rank they should be on, Capcom is just playing a shell game with the labels for better feels. Yes it means that when someone says they're Plat in SF we will forever have to ask which SF game cause the only similarity between sfv plat and SF6 plat is the nickname. I mean unless you're some kind of word purist where "Platinum" should indicate a certain skill level across games and or franchises. But even so I think SF6 is closer to most fpses on certain labels for certain numbers? Especially since they added Iron. -

βοΈ Ultra silver, but yeah. I think it's a drastically better spread for ranks than SFV. A third of the playerbase clustered on the very first rank isn't a good look, and must be frustrating for those on the "FGs are too hard" train. I'm sure after six months many of the bottom ranks will be as empty as the lowest floors of Strive tower, but that's frankly a better problem to have. -
I'm not convinced it is since you blocked the name for some reason, but assuming it is, fuck it, let the man cook. Quarter up and prove him wrong.

Yes absolutely because they cover different niches, since MKOne has a team flavor now. If they only had some kind of gore off switch I'd give it a shot myself.

Today's the day my wife finally returns home from out of country. I haven't seen her in person for nearly three months. Kids are excited, and I might get some gaming time on my PC. But which to play: Strive or SF6. I still really like Strive and don't have a main in 6.
