Ok @Sonerothe gods of Japan have spoken. You have 5 choices for your main. We're holding you to it like the homies we are. -

I tested this last night. Some lows are. Maybe even most, but not all. Honda's crouch strong will AA just fine. But yeah most lows automatically catch landing frames. -

The weird thing is I don't think he's doing anything different than SF2 days. Boy's been doing the same thing for 35 years and suddenly he's having the best week of his life. -
All these FG updates being pushed back. Naw, it aint for tech reasons. They know there's no point releasing anything in SF6's honeymoon phase. And I support them for it.

Lows are coded to not strike airborne? I wonder if hop kicks are more reliable then. https://twitter.com/GerritPaalman/status/1665976771991285761?s=20 -

Yeah he doesn't really have much footsie buttons. Maybe headbutt means he doesn't need them so much tho. I don't think he has any iframes either? Like EX Headbutt has a hit of armor but if you read a throw it's backdash or jump. I don't think command throws beat normal throws here. --- Guile I played cause he has only 3 special moves, which makes him look borderline retarded in this option-rich game. So is he the easy good character? NO. He has a lot of normals and command normals that are slight variations of each other, so it'll take time to sort through them, but ... the hard part is hitting those charge moves with minimum charge time consistently for all the really good combos. Guile feels like the most execution-heavy character in the whole game. No you silly monkey that made it worse not better! (Though you were spot-on about Honda. If you have any old-model crystal balls on discount I'll buy 'em.) And here I thought we didn't want G to return. "Powa to ze ass!" She completely feels like same ol' Juri to me, still on her transformation arc from being a resource character to being a rekka character. There have always been complaints that her stores only make her marginally better for every game she's been in, just as long as people have been saying she's high tier cause of all the tools and the problem is her players. So, yeah, the same. I DID notice that they baked-in the kara-cancel into her store-up move. In 4 she could kara-cancel from stand strong into Store for a little extra range, which was necessary for some juggle combos to be consistent, but now in 6 the HK version of Store just karas her forward while the LK version keeps her stationary. Nice little love note there. -

Random trivia. 4 prejump frames. 3 postjump frames, empty jump = block/tech. Strikes beat throws on same frame! 23f average back dash, 15f throw invincible, totally grounded. Throws 5f startup, 3f active. 30f whiff. PC throw prevents back rise. On wakeup, there is one frame that's unthrowable. On wakeup, there is one frame that's standing-sized even while crouch blocking. 2f unthrowable after exiting hitstun / blockstun. Counterhit grants +2 Punish counter (whiff punish) grants +4 4f input buffer = reliable links. If a combo starts with a special-cancelable low MK there's extra damage scaling. Perfect parry scales harshly. Drive Rush scales but only once if used many times in the same combo. No scaling when starting with Rush. You haven't hit them yet. -

I don't like DI. Footsies? Nah, DI. AA? Nah, DI. Over the age of 40? DI, DI, DI. Anyway, tonight was my first SF6 matches with actual humans, and my first matches with a charge character. After barely 2 hours I must quit and do hand stretches. I think I need to move back to stick for this game. So many 2-button and 3-button combinations are impossible unless mapped, and always-be-charging on a D-pad isn't comfortable. -

Well this sucks. SF6 has the same stupid shortcut input for DPs as Strive. Found it by accident with Cammy mid-combo, and confirmed with her & Ken in training mode. 6236 motion will DP not fireball. π https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2984583082 -

Imma let you guys in on a little protip. If, when in the middle of a multi-hour download, your Steam download speed seems unusually slow, and you see some internet advice like "Like many apps, Steam keeps temporary download data in a download cache. If it gets clogged up, it can affect Steam performance, block the app from running properly, and slow down your downloads. Thus, clearing it might speed up your downloads again," well, don't push that button. Just don't do it. πβThe More You Know -

All this sounds in line with her SF4 iteration. Assuming that still holds: her "dive kick" isn't a dive kick. It's an air-to-air anti-air. When opponents jump forward at her, she jumps backward, and after both characters have passed the peak of their jump, dive kick into possible wallbounce, super. It's really difficult for most of the cast to contest her divekick while they're also in the air. Like, only Honda and Guile jump Fierce could do so, but even then, she can vary timing. idk if SF6 Juri can still wallbounce with EX dive or not but if so, yeah, this is what I'd expect. Her flurry-of-fireballs super traditionally juggles very well and reliably. AFAIK her DP, at least in SFV, was pretty dodgy as an AA, but it was a fine reversal, since her SF4 version had absolutely nothing as a reversal. -

I really appreciate your thoughts @Vhozite. I can't play anything while my wife is out of the country so I'm living vicariously through you guys. Is the netcode at least Strive good?
