  2. Beyond Good. Beyond Evil. Beyond your wildest imagination! Happy 35th Anniversary , The Transformers: the Movie! I never saw the movie when it came out. I was only 4 yrs old. I first got to see it in 1998 from a Canadian company called Malofilm through mail order from the internetz. I liked it but as a 16 yr old it didn't have as much an impact as if I saw it when I was a tiny tot. I did like how it had a very serious tone and that characters died. Season 3 and the movie are my favorite parts of the G1 cartoon due to the tone, sci fi , and more mythology of the TFs themselves. The rock/synthesizer music of this time was my preferred style for TF more than the orchestral music used in S1/S2. While the Quintessons were weird, I appreciated how they changed the villain dynamic in S3 trying to play both sides against each other to destroy themselves and their war profiteering schemes. Galvatron is my second favorite character in TF. The design/colors and the insane behavior made him more entertaining to me than Megatron. Cyclonus is my third favorite due to his design/voice and occasionally honorable nature. I don't hate Hot Rod like most people and accepted that it was a plot convenience to get Op killed. While I generally like the new core Autobots (UM,Kup, Arcee,Blurr, Wheelie, Wreck-gar), Blurr feels like he doesnt have a defining moment in the movie. Im glad Hasbro was able to seemingly give us two great representations of Galv and Rodimus Prime this year after many mixed bag figures. Till All ARE ONE! I used this super old link bc there is some dialogue that is missing in other versions
  3. I've never watched this show, but I Think some folks on here talked about the English version fondly.
  4. An easily cracked screen and the feeling of a tumbleweed rolling through their wallet?
  5. It would take too long to go into the details so in a nutshell... Transformers was made up of 2 existing toylines called diaclone and Microchange from Takara in Japan circa 1980. Hasbro toy execs came to a Tokyo toy show in 1983 in Jpn and wanted to sell it in the US and abroad. They got the license, and turned to Marvel comics to come up with names/profiles/and a general concept that was used in both Comics and cartoon. To my knowledge, Diaclone and Microchange had some small scale story in the toy packaging but no cartoon/comic in Japan. Rebranding them as TF and giving them the alien origin and good and evil factions was the idea of Marvel Editor in Chief Jim Shooter. the actual names and profiles were originated by Bob Budiansky of Marvel. Budiansky edited the first 4 issues of the Marvel Comic and wrote issues 5- 55 of the US comic. In general , Diaclone toys had small cockpits for mini pilots and Micro change was mostly role playing or robots that converted to "items" like guns/microscopes etc.
  6. Yes. Technically, it was a repaint of Japans Powered convoy which was a remold of Battle Convoy aka Optimus Prime. It has small modifications to plug into the trailer to create the classic armored look of Ultra Magnus. I never had the G1 toy, but one day in school someone was playing with the white smaller cab and I thought it was a special "Hate Plague" resistant Optimus Prime toy. Since the cartoon never depicted the white cab transforming into small white robot form and interacting with other characters, I assumed the white cab was simply a nontransforming part. A lot of the 2000's figures were simply white repaints of Optimus with no armor. The 2014 Masterpiece figure has the cab , but it doesnt transform. The 2015 Combiner Wars figure is the same way and so is the rare Titanium figure from 2007. The 2021 remold Kingdom is one of the few UM figures that has the transforming white cab with armor created from the trailer to create the classic G1 animation look. (2018 Siege does so in robot form, but the vehicle is basically the cybertronian 2001 RID truck.) History of UM toys https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ultra_Magnus_(G1)/toys
  7. I'm guardedly optimistic for the next TF live action movie which will directed by a BLACK MAN!!
  8. And then ban Pork. 7th day Adventist and Muslims will inherit the earth.
  9. SOR4: I am at Level 6 in Story. I unlocked Adam after lvl 4. I am trying a different character each level. I like how Cherry has a full run and Adam has a dash. I always wanted to play as Jax in a beat em up and now I can lol. The Estel boss fight was pretty cool.
  10. I like pho in colder times of the year(Nov-Feb) which is funny bc I generally dont eat soup much lol. I wish I had known about it when I lived in Chicago. I like the banh mi Viet sandwiches with roast pork. There's a place here that sells them for $3.50 and they're pretty good quality. I havent tried other Viet food;Im a creature of habit.
  11. Controversial statement: I never really cared for Chinese food. By Chinese food, I meant the mainstream Americanized stuff like Sesame Chicken etc. I don't hate it,but compared to Thai,Indian,Viet, and Japanese I never get horny for it.
  12. https://hypebeast.com/2021/8/hasbro-first-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-and-power-rangers-mash-up-figures-debut I guess Donatello really is black. GO GO NINJA RANGERS!
  13. They should have just brought back Abel. One of the few original SF4 characters I liked. I threw Shenmue 3 and its steelbook into the trash today. I thought about trading it into Gamestop but since its only $4-5, I was like "Fuck it"
  14. Dookie Diaries: I never realized how much a melted Snickers bar could easily fill in for dookie (Chappelle Show Tyrone sketch)
  15. ye olde PS4. I got the physical edition for $25 from Amazon.
  16. I just tried Streets of Rage 4. I got it a few days ago, but thought the 30th anniversary would be a good day to start. I like how there is a tutorial. The juggle opportunities kinda remind me of Alpha 3 lol. The commissioner was a bit crazy for only the second stage boss. His slam move reminds me of Rugals god press (Hcb +k move) I tried Blaze and Axel. I kinda wish Blaze moved a bit faster than Axel. I keep forgetting circle is to pick up stuff and eat food lol. Great graphics and pretty good music so far.
  17. Liam Neeson and Tyrese Gibson in.. Ebony and Ivorish! Neeson: Here is some corned beef and hash , lad Tyrese: Y'all dont got any collard greens and chitlins? Neeson: Fuk you NIGGA. Sheeeeiit, I should have joined the IRA for real instead of just playing them in movies Tyrse: You definitely arent going to be in Fast 10 and 11.
  18. I just saw Snake Eyes: Pros: The Actors chosen for Storm Shadow, Baroness, and Scarlett. IMO, all three were varying improvements compared to their previous live action actors. Storm Shadow was my favorite character in the movie. (Blind Master was so much better than Rza's godawful performance from GIJOE Retaliation.) The action choreography at times Cons: This is my first time seeing Henry Golding and I dont think he s a good action guy. I can accept him not being a scarred , soldier or wearing the costume since this is a prequel. I was hoping for SOME some level of badassery or some presence, but imo he doesnt have it. Due to the plot, he also comes off unlikeable and his origin of his name is cliche. Storm Shadow and his head of security were more intriguing than SE. Baroness and Scarlett are only in it for 5-10 minutes total. While the choreography was decent, the stupid shaky cam ruined 75% percent of it. For a lot of the first half, it seems like a generic Yakuza/Shenmue adaptation. The Cobra/Joe elements are minimal. Overall: 5/10 IMO the "best" GIJOE live action film is GIJOE Retaliation (2013). That is a "grilled cheese" among the poop. Paramount should have done a sequel to that with Rock instead of rebooting again. That felt like a simple version of the Sunbow cartoon with some decent elements even if the characters were flat (Flint) Ratings 2009 GIJOE: Rise of Cobra 4/10 2013 GIJOE Retaliation 7/10 2021 SE 5/10
  19. Where the hell is the Spider-man: No Way Home trailer? Isnt the film still coming out in Dec. of this year?
